11 0-9 SFEGTE OKING GUINE SYSTEM () INTL escription of system: The system is based on a laser scanning technique and it tracks both lateral and longitudinal position of the acft. This 3 technique allows the system to recognize the incoming acft and check it against the one selected by the operator to ensure that pilot is provided with the correct stop indication for the acft. The system is operated only in the automatic mode. When the system fails, the acft is to be marshalled into the stand manually. ocking procedures: ) If the pilot is unsure of the information being show on the display unit, he must immediate stop the acft and obtain further information for clearance. Pilot shall not enter the stand area, unless the docking system shows the vertical running arrows. Pilot must not proceed beyond the bridge, unless these arrows have been superseded by the closing rate bar and pilot shall not enter the stand area, unless the acft type displayed is equal to the approaching acft. The correctness of other information, such as "door 2" shall also be checked. If the message stopped it means that the docking has been interrupted and has to be resumed only by manual guidance. 2) The floating arrows indicate that the system is activated and in capture mode and searching for an approach of the acft type displayed. Pilot must not proceed beyond the bridge unless the arrows have been superseded by the closing rate bar. 3) When the acft has been caught by the laser the floating arrow is replaced by the yellow T- indicator. flashing red red arrow indicates the direction to turn.
