6 1. Welcome Welcome to long-lsting co-opertion with Esko-Grphics. This Site Preprtion Instruction Guide is intended to provide informtion out the equipment tht you will receive nd how to prepre the site for the instlltion. Note: Some of the equipments descried in this mnul re optionl. 2. Introduction Before the Esko-Grphics Service Engineers rrive on-site to instll the system, the following items given in this hndook should e done: Prepre the destintion room. Prepre ll electricl supplies. Prepre compressed ir supply. If n ir compressor is delivered from Esko-Grphics, suitle plce for the unit should e prepred. Prepre suitle room for the vcuum pump. Due to its coustic noise, the vcuum pump should e locted in room wy from people. Rememer electricl supply for the vcuum pump. Bring the crtes (do not open them) contining the equipment into the destintion room. If properly done, this preprtion permits the system to e commissioned s quickly s possile. The less time spent on the instlltion the more time our engineer cn spend with deprtment designers nd/or tle opertor(s) trining them on system opertion. If the customer requires dditionl informtion, over nd ove tht given here, the Esko-Grphics Service Deprtment will e gld to provide it. To ensure tht no dmge occurs to essentil prts, Esko-Grphics Service Engineers must unpck ll equipment. Under no circumstnces must either crtes or oxes e opened with crowrs or similr tools, this cn cuse dmge to the contents. Immeditely fter n item is unpcked, it must e inspected crefully for signs of dmge. Receive the equipment from Kongserg 3.1 Inspection of Equipment In cse of visul dmge to one or more of the crtes upon delivery, note/remrk should e mde on the receipt of the forwrder nd the forwrder should e notified. Shipper shll e informed out the dmge, nd the signed receipt with remrk should e sent to the shipper. The signed receipt is very importnt s proof of dmge in cse there is dmge to the contents of the shipment for the further processing of the cse. Photos should e mde of the dmge, preferly efore the goods re unloded from the truck. The photos need to e sent to the shipper. The goods re not to e opened without the presence of qulified Esko Engineer or prtners. If dmge is found while unpcking the unit the service people of Esko need to mke photos of this nd sent it to shipper. 3.2 Storge While in the crtes, store the equipment in storge room, protected from wether, including direct sunlight nd extreme tempertures. The storge temperture must e kept within -20 o C to +40 o C / -4 o F to +104 o F with humidity less thn 95% RH non-condensing. 3.3 System Lel A system lel s shown elow is ffixed to the tle stnd ner to the Min Power Unit. 8 4. Tle Trnsport Due to its high weight, specil ttention should e pid to the methods used to ring the tle tops into the destintion room. Typicl weights (one tle section): XL20 XL22 XL24 XL4x kg ls kg ls kg ls kg ls Note: Recommendtions re vlid for ll mechnicl prts. Adhere to locl regultions regrding lifting sfety. Adhere to locl regultions regrding protective equipments, such s protective shoes nd gloves. Plese follow the recommended rules: Keep the tle top(s) in the wooden crte(s) s long s possile. While in the cse, the top(s) re protected even if moved verticlly. Use forklift to ring the cse into suitle height for lifting. Be creful when the tle is lifted out of the wooden cse. Use protection rs to protect the rcks. Minimum height 50 mm / 2 in.; included in the shipment. When lifting, do not lift y the rcks or guides. Use the front nd ck ends of the tle for lifting s illustrted. Be extremely creful not to hit the rcks or guides in ny wy. If the tle is moved in verticl position, plce protection rs long the ottom side of the tle. If instlltion ccording to locl regultions nd the requirements listed here re not possile, firm of movers should e hired. For XL24 tles especilly, tht should e the rule. 8

9 5. Room Preprtion 5.1 Generl The ccurcy otined from the system depends upon room stndrds. In order to mintin the high ccurcy provided y the system, the instructions given here must e dhered to. The ccurcy of the system is relted to temperture of +20 o C / +68 o F, nd reltive humidity of 50%. However, the system cn operte stisfctorily in tempertures etween +10 o C nd +30 o C / +50 o F nd +86 o F, nd reltive humidity of 30% to 80%. 5.2 Floor covering The min criteri regrding the selection of floor-covering mteril is tht it must e non-sttic. Nylon crpets should not e used. Curtins should e non-sttic nd lint-free. 5.3 Furniture The furniture in the room (i.e. chirs, desks, cinet s etc.), dditionl to the system equipment should e mde of low-shedding, low sttic-generting mterils. 5.4 Work mteril storge The conditions under which mterils re stored re lso importnt where ccurcy is concerned. Assuming n ir-conditioned room is provided for the Cutting System, we recommend tht the mteril to e used e stored in room with the sme conditions s the cutting room. 5.5 Workflow Plese note the recommended mteril trnsport direction indicted in the System Lyout chpter. To otin mximum productivity, it is importnt to pln mteril hndling. Hndling hevy mterils is dnger to personl helth. Actions should e tken to void lifting hevy mterils mnully. 5.6 Floor lod nd level The floor must e level nd cple of supporting n evenly distriuted lod of 500 kg/m² (0.7 ls/in²). The floor fltness should e within +/- 5 mm ( +/- 0.2 ). The floor must lso e le to prevent the tle from eing sujected to virtions. (Most shop/office floors meet these requirements.) 5.7 Computer floor Provided there re solid ses for tle legs (e.g. concrete stnds or steel ems), it is recommended tht the floor e uilt in the style used for computer nd electronic equipment instlltions. This style provides removle flse-floor sections with chnnels underneth for cles. Detiled informtion is given in the 'Equipment specifiction' chpter. 9

If the mchine is equipped with router, either FlexiHed M or MultiCut, gllow is mounted on the trverse s illustrted here: Ensure the hedroom is sufficient llowing the gllows to move freely. 10

11 6. DynGurd sfety system The DynGurd sfety system consists of three light ems, two in front of the trverse nd one ehind nd stop mechnism mounted on ech end of the trverse. Mchine movement will stop nd servo power will e switched off if: One of the light ems re roken. The stop mechnism is ctivted. A person stnding too ner the tle ctivtes the stop mechnism, for instnce. 11

12 7. System Lyout A recommended system lyout for the different types of tles is shown in the illustrtion elow. Requirements: 1. A minimum spcing etween the equipment nd wlls. 2. A minimum spcing etween the units required y mintennce personnel. Recommendtions: 1. Add spce in front nd on one side of the tle to ese opertion nd mteril hndling. Furniture should e tken into ccount when the system lyout is decided. 2. For opertor convenience, the PC should e locted close to the tle nd the opertor pnel. 3. If not supplied from centrl system, locte the Vcuum Pumps nd Air Compressor outside the room to reduce the noise level within the room to minimum. 4. Although ll the informtion is confined to the recommended lyout, there re no restrictions regrding the wy the system is lid-out, except: 1. Mximum lengths of cles. If specil cle length is required, these must e ordered seprtely 2. The required minimum spcing is mintined. 3. The sfety requirements re mintined nd the sfety system opertes s intended. 12

Ech conductor should e 1.5 mm 2 / inch 2, nd fuses (this pplies for ll line voltges) should protect live conductors. The Ground requirements of the system lso pply to these conditions. Recommended line fuse sizes is found in the chpter: Cles nd hoses. The cles shipped with the system do not hve plugs, so tht the customer cn connect the type suitle for the power sockets. 52
