Inended readership This manual refers o wo user profiles, as defined by sandard IEC 60050: Elecrically Skilled Person (IEV ): person wih relevan educaion and experience o enable him or her o perceive risks and o avoid hazards which elecriciy can creae. 6 Inroducion o Ekip rip unis ABB SACE Emax Presenaion Families and funcionaliy SACE Emax 2 can be configured wih five differen ypes of proecion rip uni, disinguished by ype of inerface and funcionaliy. One rip uni has a dip-swich inerface (Ekip Dip) while he ohers are equipped wih a ouchscreen display (Ekip Touch). NOTE: Ekip Hi-Touch, Ekip G Touch and Ekip G Hi-Touch rip unis have he Ekip Measuring Pro module mouned as sandard. 7 Accessorizing modules The Emax 2 circui-breakers and Ekip rip unis can be equipped as indicaed in he combinaion ables on page 27. Various ypes of modules are available, differing in funcionaliy and in heir posiion on he circui-breaker. 9 Signallings The following able provides a descripion of he signals of he inerface: LEDs Green Yellow Red Descripion The possible saes are: Off: power supply absen. On, fixed or flashing: power supply presen, and rip uni on. NOTE: if he rip uni is off and no opening has aken place, if you press he itest key he LED comes on for 6 s. The possible saes are: Off: no warning or error. On, blinking rapidly: absence of communicaion beween rip uni and Mainboard, or insallaion error (of he Raing Plug, or he Ekip Measuring module, or Ekip Measuring Pro). On, flashing slowly: inernal error. On, wih wo quick flashes every 0.5 s: paramerizaion error. On, fixed: prealarm of proecion L, or circui-breaker sae error. The possible saes are: Off: no alarm or error. On, blinking rapidly: absence of communicaion beween rip uni and Mainboard, or rip coil disconneced, or curren sensor disconneced, or delay acive. On, wih wo quick flashes every 2 s: raing plug error. On, flashing slowly: inernal error. On, fixed: ripping signal. 11 2 - Pages deails Deails relaed o his chaper are available in he manual 1SDH001330R0002 (Emax 2 engineering manual) available on he websie ABB library. 3 - Inserion of he password Descripion The page where he password is enered is open, if a parameer o be enered, or he Tes menu have been seleced, or if he password mus be changed. NOTE: inserion of he password is requesed, if: The password has never been insered. Afer programming has been cancelled. Afer a few minues of inaciviy. The password is composed of five digis, each of which can have a value from 0 o 9. The defaul value is 00001, and i mus be modified afer he firs swich-on in order o preven access by unauhorized personnel. In order o modify he password, from he menu Seings, you need o selec Sysem - New Password. I is possible o disable he password by insering "00000" as new password. Confirm key: Confirmaion afer insering a digi in a posiion from 1 o 4 will auomaically bring you o he nex digi. When he fifh digi is confirmed, he enire password is confirmed and he seleced page is opened. NOTE: If you are changing he password, afer he firs confirmaion of he new password, he page opens again for he reconfirmaion. In he case of an incorrec password, he message Wrong Password appears for approximaely 3 seconds, and he page for inserion of he password opens again. 12 4 - Seing he parameers Modifying a parameer To se a parameer, you need o selec i. Selecing a parameer opens he page Modify Parameer. There are wo possible ypes of Modify Parameer page: By opion: i consiss of a lis of he values ha can be assigned o he parameer. By value: graphical page wih a bar for assigning he parameer a numerical value wihin a range.. Programming he rip uni When a parameer is modified, he new value is indicaed in he Sar menu, and he parameer is associaed o a ick symbol. 13 5 - Proecions Operaing principle All he proecions presen in he elecronic rip unis wih a display (Ekip Touch, Ekip Hi-Touch, Ekip G Touch, Ekip G Hi-Touch) have a delay ime before enering alarm sae and ripping he circui-breaker. The duraion of he delay depends on he parameers se: hreshold, ime, curve. Depending on he curren read by he rip uni, here are wo possible behaviours: Curren above he proecion hreshold, persisen alarm condiion, he rip uni will open he circui-breaker. Curren below he proecion hreshold, alarm condiion and delay inerruped. The proecion hreshold relaes o differen parameers, according o he ype: Type Curren Volage Frequency Power Reference Nominal curren of he raing plug (In). Raed volage se (Un) Frequency se (fn) Curren muliplied by raed volage (Sn = 3 * In * Un) IMPORTANT: To manage he ripping of he circui-breaker hrough a specific proecion, he proecion iself mus be enabled.
