The cusomer (manufacurer, developer or insaller of he final equipmen) acceps all liabiliy and risk relaing o he configuraion of he produc in order o reach he expeced resuls in relaion o he specific final insallaion and/or equipmen. CAREL may, based on specific agreemens, acs as a consulan for he posiive commissioning of he final uni/applicaion, however in no case does i accep liabiliy for he correc operaion of he final equipmen/sysem. The CAREL produc is a sae-of-he-ar produc, whose operaion is specified in he echnical documenaion supplied wih he produc or can be downloaded, even prior o purchase, from he websie Each CAREL produc, in relaion o is advanced level of echnology, requires seup / configuraion / programming / commissioning o be able o operae in he bes possible way for he specific applicaion. The failure o complee such operaions, which are required/indicaed in he user manual, may cause he final produc o malfuncion; CAREL acceps no liabiliy in such cases. Only qualified personnel may insall or carry ou echnical service on he produc. The cusomer mus only use he produc in he manner described in he documenaion relaing o he produc. In addiion o observing any furher warnings described in his manual, he following warnings mus be heeded for all CAREL producs: preven he elecronic circuis from geing we. Rain, humidiy and all ypes of liquids or condensae conain corrosive minerals ha may damage he elecronic circuis. In any case, he produc should be used or sored in environmens ha comply wih he emperaure and humidiy limis specified in he manual; do no insall he device in paricularly ho environmens. Too high emperaures may reduce he life of elecronic devices, damage hem and deform or mel he plasic pars. INTRODUCTI Feaures of he MaserAria family: Acqua remoe erminal wih an elegan appearance, buil-in room emperaure sensor and diversified access o he various funcions (values se using he fron buons, operaing mode changed using he side buons); Conrol board wih high number of I/Os (5 digial inpus, 3 probes, 5 relay oupus and dipswiches for simple configuraion by he insaller); Cusom connecion o supervisory sysems wih he numerous proocols suppored (Modbus, PlanVisor); Parameer programming key (accessory); Expansion board o conrol modulaing 3-poin or / valves (accessories) MaserAria is a produc designed for small air heaer and air handling uni (AHU) marke, for boh unis wih ouside air only and wih recirculaion or hea recovery unis. I is used o manage a ho/cold waer coil wih modulaing valve and modulaing ouside air damper or alernaively wo coils wih modulaing valve and / ouside damper. The compac elecrical panel (IP54) conains he main conrol board, he expansion board wih 2 modulaing 0 o 10 Vdc oupus and 2 relay oupus, he circui breaker and he fan proecion and conrol conacor. Versions are available for he conrol of single-phase and hree-phase fan moors, wih he possibiliy o adjus he maximum cuoff curren. The produc can also be supplied wihou he elecrical panel, wih he main conrol board and expansion board seleced wih 2 modulaing 0 o 10 Vdc oupus and 2 relay oupus, 4 riac oupus, 2 riac oupus and 2 relays, or 4 relay oupus and he acqua remoe erminal. The 3 oupus on he main board for conrolling he fan can be used o manage single-phase 3-speed fans (he firs oupu conrols he conacor in he MaserAria elecrical panel) and hree-phase fans. The sysem is simple o configure by seing he dipswiches on he main conrol board and he parameers on he acqua remoe erminal; his can in fac be used o display he alarms, se he parameers and he on/ off ime bands. The possibiliy of configure he oupus and he availabiliy of various expansion boards means various ypes of loads can be conrolled, such as ho/cold waer coil valves, heaers, ho and cold waer signals o he chiller/hea pump and boiler, ouside damper, recirculaion damper and hea recovery uni damper. The RS485 serial board (accessory) can be used o creae cusom (PlanVisor) or open (Modbus ) supervisory sysems. Finally, he pcoweb board (accessory) can be used o connec MaserAria o a compuer on an inrane, or alernaively o a save he variables and graphs o a file ha can be sen using Inerne Explorer. 7

USER The user inerface is he acqua remoe erminal, feauring a user-friendly liquid crysal display Acqua remoe erminal In summary: buil-in NTC sensor o conrol he room emperaure; LCD wih inuiive symbols; selecion of he value displayed (emperaure, se poin, offse from common se poin); selecive keypad lock (limied funcions for offices, hoels); manual or auomaic operaion; / imer funcions; sleep funcion. Fig. 2.a meaning Air handling uni (AHU) /. If he remoe / digial inpu is available, he funcion of he buon can be disabled. Used o selec he desired operaing mode: cooling(snowflake), heaing (sun), dehumidificaion, venilaion, AUTOMATIC. If he remoe cooling/heaing digial inpu is available, his buon can be disabled. Pressing repeaedly ses he fan speed (min, med, max, auomaic=auto). Confirms o he changes made o he parameers. Pressing once acivaes he sleep funcion, pressing again selecs he duraion of he sleep funcion in hours (if more han hree seconds elapse from when he buon was previously pressed, he funcion is deacivaed). Afer pressing 9 consecuive imes, he funcion is deacivaed. Holding he buon ses he curren ime. Pressing once selecs he MaserAria ime (changed using UP & DOWN), pressing again selecs he ime, and pressing a hird ime exis he imer programming procedure. Increase value (UP) Below is a descripion of all he operaing modes available on MaserAria. The device can in any case be reconfigured by he manufacurer of he cooling/heaing sysem or he insaller (based on he feaures of he sysem), and herefore some funcions may be no available. 2.2 Operaing modes Cooling Once having swiched he device on, by pressing he / buon: Repeaedly press he MODE buon unil he cooling symbol (snowflake) comes on. Se he se poin (desired emperaure) using he UP & DOWN buons. Repeaedly press he fan buon o selec he desired fan speed; if AUTO mode is seleced, he speed is decided by he elecronic conroller based on he deviaion from he se poin (he greaer he deviaion, he higher he speed). If he COOL ENABLE funcion is acive, he fan is sared only if he coil emperaure is low enough, o avoid undesired flows of ho air. If his condiion is no saisfied, he cooling symbol (snowflake) flashes. Decrease value (DOWN) Tab. 2.a Imporan: The fan speed can only be seleced using he fan buon if parameer 118 = 0. Fig. 2.c 8

9 Heaing Once having swiched he device on, by pressing he / buon: Repeaedly press he MODE buon unil he heaing symbol only (sun) or he heaing symbol wih heaer, if insalled (*), comes on. In he laer case, he elecric heaer is also used as a source of hea; Se he se poin (desired emperaure) using he UP & DOWN buons; Repeaedly press he fan buon o selec he desired fan speed; if AUTO mode is seleced, he speed is decided by he elecronic conroller based on he deviaion from he se poin (he greaer he deviaion, he higher he speed). If he HEAT ENABLE funcion is acive, he fan is sared only if he coil emperaure is high enough, o avoid undesired flows of cold air. If his condiion is no saisfied he heaing symbol (sun) flashes. If he elecric heaer is insalled (signalled by he corresponding symbol on he display), he fan coninues operaing for 20 seconds afer i has been deacivaed. This ime is also mainained when swiching off he device using he / buon. wih heaer wihou heaer Fig. 2.d Fig. 2.e (*): For he insallaion of he elecric heaer, see he paragraph on Configuraion. AUTOMATIC Fig. 2.g Once having swiched he device on, by pressing he / buon: Repeaedly press he MODE buon unil he AUTOMATIC symbol comes on; Se he se poin (desired emperaure) using he UP & DOWN buons; Repeaedly press he fan buon o selec he desired fan speed; if AUTO mode is seleced, he speed is decided by he elecronic conroller based on he deviaion from he se poin (he greaer he deviaion, he higher he speed). The operaing mode (heaing or cooling) is decided by he elecronic conroller based on he deviaion from he se poin: if he room emperaure is higher han he se poin, he conroller acivaes cooling mode, while if i is lower heaing mode is acivaed. The fan is sared only if he coil emperaure is suiable for he heaing or cooling funcions. AUTOMATIC mode HR Dehumidificaion Once having swiched he device on, by pressing he / buon: Repeaedly press he MODE buon unil he dehumidificaion symbol (droples) comes on; Se he se poin (desired emperaure) using he UP & DOWN buons; Repeaedly press he fan buon o selec he desired fan speed; if AUTO mode is seleced, he fan works a minimum speed. The fan is sared only if he coil emperaure is low enough, so as o avoid undesired flow of ho and humid air. If his condiion is no saisfied, he dehumidificaion symbol flashes. MaserAria sars in cooling mode so as o bring he room emperaure closer o he se poin (se poin +3 C) using he seleced speed, and hen runs fan on/ off cycles a minimum speed o decrease he humidiy. Comfor Fig. 2.h In some sysems, he se poin is decided by he manager of he insallaion; in hese cases, he user may increase or decrease he se poin by up o 3 C o compensae for differen percepion of he room emperaure. The value is changed by pressing he UP and DOWN buons and is displayed for 5 seconds, afer which he previous display resumes. The mode may be useful for circulaing he air in he room. In his case, also se he minimum opening of he ouside damper (parameer 119> 0%). Once having swiched he device on, by pressing he / buon: Repeaedly press he MODE buon so ha only he fan symbol is on (a he boom of he display) ogeher wih he corresponding speed bar. Repeaedly press he fan buon o selec he desired fan speed; if AUTO mode is seleced, he speed is se o medium. The fan is sared only if he room emperaure is wihin he range of emperaures from 15 o 35 C, o avoid undesired flows of ho or cold air. 9

10 HR AUTO MAN ENG Sleep The sleep funcion is especially useful a nigh, when he decrease in body emperaure (due o sleep) changes he percepion of he room emperaure. In cooling mode he se poin is increased by he value of he parameer 18 for he number of hours specified on he display, afer which MaserAria reurns o he previous siuaion (he sleep funcion is cancelled). In heaing mode he se poin is decreased by he value of parameer 19. To se he sleep funcion: Swich he device on using he / buon and selec he operaing mode; Press he clear buon repeaedly unil seing he required number of hours for he funcion. To cancel his funcion, press he clear buon again, afer having waied 3 seconds from when he buon was las pressed, or pressing he buon more han once unil exceeding he maximum number of hours, ha is, 9. Sleep operaion can be acivaed by a digial inpu ha has been configured accordingly. In his case, he funcion is called economy (see he paragraph on Digial inpus ). Remoe off Acivaed when dipswich 3 = When he remoe off symbol (lock) is shown he operaing mode is se o AUTOMATIC (wih heaer, if insalled) and he user can: swich he uni on/ off, modify he se poin and se he fan speed; he oher funcions are no available. HR Fig. 2.k Disabling he operaing modes Parameer 38 is used o reduce he number of operaing modes available on he acqua erminal. The seing is achieved by adding he values shown below, each of which corresponds o disabling he corresponding mode. AUTO MAN 1 AUTOMATIC 2 cooling 4 dehumidificaion 8 venilaion 16 heaing 32 auofan (see corresponding paragraph) 64 sleep 128 / imer & ime display 2.3 Seing he clock and On/Off imes (imer) Seing he ime MaserAria offers he possibiliy o perform programmed sars and sops if he room only needs o be air-condiioned a cerain imes of he day. To be able o use hese funcions, he inernal clock needs o be se wih he correc ime, as shown below: 1. Hold he imer buon for 5 seconds (he clock icon appears); 2. Se he ime using he UP and DOWN buons (he ime flashes); 3. Confirm by pressing he SET buon (he ime is displayed seady). 1 Fig. 2.l Imporan: In he even of power failures, he ime reurns o 12:00 and mus be se again. The ime display can be disabled by seing parameer 38=128. Seing he on and off imes Press he TIMER buon once; Se he required ime wih he UP and DOWN buons (he ime flashes); Confirm he ime wih he se buon (he symbol is on seady and he curren ime is displayed): he clock icon is shown wih he ex. The imer is se in he same way as he imer, wih he difference ha he TIMER buon mus be pressed wice. Imporan: In he even of power failures, he imer values are los and mus be rese. INSTALLATI In summary: easy configuraion by dipswiches; possibiliy of conrol wih inake/reurn probe or probe on he acqua erminal; possibiliy o creae supervisor neworks using he RS485 serial board (accessory). Expansion board wih analogue/relay oupus (code HYVC000V00) Allows MaserAria o conrol wo acuaors wih 0 o 10 Vdc inpus (e.g.: modulaing valves, ec.) and conrol any addiional loads using o he wo mulifuncion relays. 3.1 MaserAria and accessories Below is a descripion of he family of devices made up of MaserAria and is accessories: Elecrical panel CTEM7*: Single-phase version CTEDB*: Three-phase version The elecrical panel conains he main conrol board plus he expansion board wih 2 x 0 o 10 Vdc oupus and 2 relay oupus. I is also fied wih a disconnec swich, a power conacor for he fan and a circui breaker Fig. 3.c Expansion board wih 4 relays (code HYVC000R00) Allows MaserAria o manage / acuaors (valves, heaers, dampers) and he ho and cold waer signals o he chiller and hea pump/boiler). Fig. 3.d Expansion board wih 2 riac/relay oupus (code HYVC000M00) Allows MaserAria o conrol loads wih a high number of operaions (e.g.: modulaing 3 poin valves, ec.) using he 2 riac oupus wih volage signal (230 Vac) and direcly conrol a 2 kw heaer. 12 RS485 serial board (code HYSC00F0P0, accessory) Used o creae cusom (PlanVisor) or open (Modbus ) supervisory sysems. 3.2 Insallaion The elecrical panel can be wall-mouned or insalled in he air handling uni. Wall-mouning and dimensions: Fig. 3.g Idenify he correc posiion on he wall, drill 4 holes, according o he drawing, and inser he plugs. Back Fron Programming key (code PSOPZKEY00, accessory) Used o simply expor he configuraion of he parameers from one MaserAria o anoher. (he erminal should be fasened o he wall in a horizonal posiion so as o allow he recirculaion of air hrough he slis on he rear cover fasened o he wall). The erminal is fied inside he plasic case and is only accessible by removing he rear shell (see he following figure). 16 3.7 Programming key (copy he configuraion) Once having se he parameers (see he paragraph on Configuraion ), he configuraion can be quickly copied o oher MaserAria conrollers using he programming key. Proceed as follows: 1. swich off he previously programmed MaserAria (source); 2. se he dipswiches inside he programming key (underneah he baery cover) o reading mode (dip 1=, dip2= ); 3. inser he key in he 4-pin connecor on he adaper, and connec he 8-wire cable supplied (see Fig. 3.); 4. inser he 8-wire cable from he programming key adaper o he IR connecor on he board; 5. press he buon. The red LED and hen he green LED come on in succession, if he operaion has been compleed successfully. Oher signals indicae problems (see he corresponding insrucion shee); 6. remove he key and he adaper; se he dipswich o wrie mode (dip 1=, dip2= ) and repea seps 3, 4, 5, 6 o wrie he daa o he arge MaserAria; Imporan: o avoid excessively discharging he baeries in he programming key, disconnec he normally closed digial inpus on MaserAria. MaserAria provides a number of addiional funcions compared o radiional conrollers: 2 digial inpus for remoe / and cooling/ heaing managemen, 3 configurable digial inpus, 3 probes, 4 configurable oupus, 6 dipswiches for rapid cusomisaion on sie, possibiliy of nework connecion for supervision. MaserAria comes wih a family of accessories (see he able of codes) including: he acqua erminal (wih buil-in NTC sensor), he expansion boards wih 4 relay oupus, 4 riac oupus, 2 riac oupus and 2 relay oupus, he RS485 serial board. The following secion shows, in sequence, he descripion of he parameers, from he configuraion of he I/O o he seing of he conrol algorihms. The lis of parameers is shown a he end of he secion. 4.1 Configuraion To selec he ype of air handling uni (AHU)/air heaer uni, proceed as follows: connec he appropriae expansion board, if he board supplied is no suiable for he acuaors used (he board supplied wih he MaserAria elecrical panel has wo 0 o 10 Vdc oupus and wo relay oupus, see he wiring diagram); se he dipswiches on he main conrol board; selec he ype of predefined uni (parameer P91) ha bes suis he applicaion; on he acqua erminal, se he parameers for he inpus/oupus ha differ from he chosen configuraion. Oupus The riac oupu should be preferred over he relay oupu when he acuaor requires coninuous swiching (open/closed), as is he case wih modulaing 3-poin valves. Imporan: Do no se oupus wih opion < = 6 and >6 a he same ime. This is because oupus wih opion > 6 auomaically imply he acivaion of he P+I algorihm, which is no suiable for he on/ off oupus: opions 1,2,5,6. In any case, he following oupus can be used: chiller acivaion signal, boiler-hea pump acivaion signal and alarm. Only one oupu can be se as a heaer.
