Installaton 2 To nstall the reducton unt t s necessary to note the followng recommendatons: - The mountng on the machne must be stable to avod any vbraton. - Check the correct drecton of rotaton of the reducton unt output shaft before fttng the unt to the machne. - In te case of partcularly lengthy perods of storage (4/6 months), f the ol seal s not mmersed n the lubrcant nsde the unt, t s recommended to change t snce the rubber could stck to the shaft or may even have lost the elastcty t needs to functon properly. - Whenever possble, protect the reducton unt solar radaton and bad weather. - Ensure the motor cools correctly by assurng good passage of ar from the fan sde. - In the case of ambent temperatures <-5 o C or >+ o C call the Techncal Servce - The varous parts (pulleys, gear wheels, couplngs, shafts, etc.) must be mounted on the sold or hollow shafts usng specal threaded holes or other systems that anyhow ensure correct operaton wthout rskng damage to the bearngs or external parts of the unts. Lubrcate the surfaces n contact to avod sezure or oxdaton. - Pantng must defntely not go over rubber parts and the holes on the breather plugs, f any. - For unts equpped wth ol plugs, replace the closed plug used for shppng wth the specal breather plug. - Check the correct level of the lubrcant through the ndcator, f there s one. - Startng must take place gradually, wthout mmedately applyng the maxmum load. - When there are parts, objects or materals under the motor drve that can be damaged by even lmted spllage of ol, specal protecton should be ftted.

It s also necessary to take due consderaton of and carefully assess the followng applcatons by callng our Techncal Servce: - As a speed ncreasng. - Use n servces that could be hazardous for people f the reducton unt fals. - Applcatons wth especally hgh nerta. - Use as a lftng wnch. - Applcaton wth hgh dynamc stran on the case of the reducton unt - In places wth T o under -5 o C or over o C - Use n chemcally aggressve envronments. - Use n a salty envronment. - Montng postons not envsaged n the catalogue. - Use n radoactve envronments. - Use n envronments pressures other than atmospherc pressure. Avod applcatons where even partal mmerson of the reducton unt s requred The maxmum torque (*) that the gear reducer can support must not exceed two tmes the nomnal torque (f.s.=1) stated n the performance tables. (*) ntended for momentary overloads due to startng at full load, brakng, shocks or other causes, partcularly those that are dynamc. In the case of temperatures under - o C or o C t s necessary to use ol seals wth specal propertes. For operatng rangers wth temperatures under 0 o C t s necessary to consder the followng: 1. The motors need to be sutable for operaton at the envsaged ambent temperature. 2. The power of the electrc motor needs to de adequate for exceedng the hgher startng torqued. 3. In the case of reducton unts wth a cast-ron case, pay attenton to mpact snce cast ron may have problems of fraglty at temperatures under - o C. 4. Durng the early stages of servce of lubrcaton may arse due to the hgh level of vscosty taken on by the ol and so t s wse to have a few mnutes after approxmately,000 hours. Ths perod depends on the type of servce and the envronment where the reducton unt works. - The reducton unts sze are suppled wth lubrcant for lfe, synthetc ol, AGIP TELIUM VSF and can therefore be mounted n any poston envsaged n. The only exceptons s 090 n pos. V5/V6 for whch you should call our Techncal Servce to assess the condtons of use. - The reducton unts sze 1-1 are suppled complete wth lubrcant, mneral ol, AGIP BLASIA 4 - For szes 1-1 and 1 t s necessary the poston, otherwse the reducton unts are suppled wth the quantty of ol relatng to pos. B3. - Only reducton unts 1-1 are ftted wth breathe level and ol dranage plugs. It s necessary. After nstallaton, to replace the closed plug used for transportaton wth the breather plug suppled wth the unt. - The pre-stage helcal modules are suppled complete wth lfe-long lubrcant, synthetc ol AGIP TELIUM VSF, and can therefore be mounted n all the postons. The mesh data table on page 16shows dynamc effcency (n1=) and statc effcency values. Remember that these values are only acheved after the unt has been run n. DYNAMIC IRREVERSIBILITY Dynamc rreversblty s acheved the output shaft stops nstantly when drve s no longer transmtted through the worm shaft. Ths condton requres a dynamc a dynamc effcency of (see table on page 8). STATIC IRREVERSIBILITY Statc rreversblty s acheved when, wth the gear reducer at a standstll, the applcaton of a load to the output shaft does not set n moton the worm shaft.
