Summary MRSA Logic Pus has a ki rate of 99.9% compared to the competitor s Anti Microbia product with ony 86.4%. Both products had an equa 99.9% ki rate for E-Coi and Samonea. In 2008, MK Eectric commissioned independent testing on the Logic Pus range and a competitor s Anti-Microbia range by a reputabe independent UKAS accredited aboratory. The aboratory tested the products, after ceaning with disinfectant (the Government s Deep Cean poicy targeted a hospitas to undergo a deep cean by March 2008, which incuded ceaning a fixtures and fittings). The method The organisms MRSA, E-Coi, Samonea and Kebsiea Pneumoniae were appied to the products. Resuts were coected at 0 minutes, 4 hour, 8 hour and 24 hour intervas. Percentage ki rates after 24-hour period Kebsiea Pneumoniae Logic Pus has a ki rate of 98.9%, compared to the competitor s Anti Microbia product with 95.4%. The Logic Pus range is produced using Urea Formadehyde, a high grade thermoset materia, which has simiar inherent properties to antimicrobia additives, which inhibit the growth of infectious diseases such as MRSA, E-Coi, Samonea and Kebsiea Pneumoniae. In addition, Logic Pus products are scratch-free thanks to high quaity moud toos, which means there are no dirt traps for bacteria to breed. 4 Heathcare Sector: MEIGaN The MEIGaN (Medica Eectrica Instaation Guidance Notes) document pubished in September 2007 has given heathcare organisations cear and strict guidance regarding the eectrica wiring and instaation within new, refurbished or upgraded heathcare estabishments. 5 Buiding Reguations Parts L & M Part L: Conservation of Fue and Power In Apri 2006, Part L of the Buiding Reguations, Conservation of Fue and Power, was revised and reissued to ensure compiance with the ega obigations set out in the European Union Energy Performance of Buidings Directive. Statistics pubished by the Buiding Research Estabishment show that across a broad seection of non-domestic appications, ighting represents 40% of a buiding s tota energy consumption. The Heath appication shows ighting to be by far the function with the highest energy usage 63% which aso represents the argest opportunity for energy savings.
