11 Section 3 Periodic Maintenance Hour Maintenance Every time the ift truck is serviced or every 100 hours of truck operation, whichever comes frrst, compete the foowing maintenance procedures. c] Inspect the paten shims at the bottom of the frame. Tighten the bots and readjust the shims as shown in paragraph 5.7-1, If necessary. 0 Inspect the facepate roers and reated parts for sufficient ubrication. If necessary, ubricate with Dubois FGG-2 food industry grease, Cascade part no. C Inspect the hoses mounted in the pantograph arms. They shoud be mounted securey and without hose droop. Check for hose wear and kinking at the primary and secondary arm connections. Repace kinked or worn hoses Hour Maintenance After each 500 hours of ift truck operation, in addition to the 100-hour maintenance procedures, perform the foowing procedures. q Inspect a bearings and shims at the pivot points for excessive wear. Repace if necessary. q Tighten the capscrews that secure the arm pivot pins to a torque of ft.-b. 0 Lubricate the facepate roers and guides with Dubois FGG-2 food industry grease, Cascade part no. 31 Section 4 Troubes hooting 4.3 Troubeshooting the Push/Pu Circuit There are six potentia probems that coud affect push/pu operation. InsuffIcient hydrauic pressure Externa eaks Defective soenoid (on soenoid-equipped attachments) Worn or defective cyinder seas Vave assemby mafunction Kinked suppy hoses Before proceeding with a test, determine whether the push function, pu function, or the gripper function is at faut. Then foow the check ist under the probem function (paragraph 4.3-1, 4.3-2, or 4.3-3) to isoate the probem area. In a cases, make sure the truck is deivering sufficient hydrauic pressure. A pressure drop of no more than 100 psi beow the truck reief vave setting at the auxiiary vave port is OK. If the pressure is not as specified, refer to the truck service manua for adjustment or service procedures. Pressure must not exceed 2000 psi Push Function Pressure Test 1. At the attachment vave assemby, disconnect the suppy hose that eads to the base end of the right-hand push/pu cyinder (as viewed from the driver s seat). Pug the cyinder suppy hose with a No. 6 meta pug. 2. Connect a pressure gauge with a neede shutoff vave and drain ine to the vave fitting (refer to paragraph for an iustration of the gauge arrangement). Put the drain ine in an empty container. 3. Open the neede vave no more than ½ to 1 fu turn. Start the truck and et it ide. 4. Operate the truck push ever for 4 to 5 seconds, then cose the neede vave tighty. Aow the gauge to reach and hod fu truck reief pressure for 2 or 3 seconds, then reease the push ever. Observe the pressure gauge and note the foowing: If the gauge does not reach the specific tiuck pressure (a 100 psi oss is OK), one of the foowing is responsibe. Interna Or Externa Leaks Refer to the accompanying diagram and check a areas that coud have externa eaks. Repair as required and operate the attachment to determine if the probem has been soved. Defective Push/Pu Soenoid (on attachments so equipped) Refer to paragraph 4.4-1, steps 3, 4 and 5 for soenoid tests. Shutte In The Vave Assemby Is Not Shifting Refer to Section 5.3 for vave inspection and servicing procedures. The Pioted Check Vave Or Reief Vave In The Vave Assemby Is Defective Refer to Section 5.3 for vave inspection and servicing procedures. If the gauge does reach truck pressure (a 100 psi oss is 0K);the foowing is responsibe for a mafunctioning push circuit. 32 Section 4 Troubeshooting a Push/Pu Cyinder Is Defective When the facepate extends uneveny with the right side out farther than the eft, suspect the eft-hand cyinder: vice versa for the right-hand cyinder. To further check the cyinders, insta a drain ine to the base end port and appy pressure to retract the cyinder. A steady oi stream after fu retraction indicates a bypass of oi at the seas or compensator vave. Refer to Section 5.4 for cyinder inspection and servicing procedures. Suspect Left Cyinder Pu Function Pressure Test 1. At the vave assemby, disconnect the suppy hose that eads to the rod end of the eft-hand push/pu cyinder (as viewed from the driver s seat). Pug the cyinder suppy hose with a No. 6 meta pug. 2. Connect a pressure gauge with a neede shutoff vave and drain ine to the vave fitting (refer to paragraph for an iustration of the gauge arrangement). Put the drain ine in an empty container. 3. Open the neede vave no more than /z to 1 fu turn. Start the truck and et it ide. 4. Operate the truck pu ever for 4 to 5 seconds, then cose the neede vave tighty. Aow the gauge to reach and hod fu truck reief pressure for 2 or 3 seconds, then reease the pu ever. Observe the pressure gauge and note the foowing: If the gauge does not reach the specific truck pressure (a 100 psi oss is OK), one of the foowing IS responsibe.
