16 Tle 18. Vent pipe A vent pipe (or fire hydrnt rnch pipe) is lwys equipped with flnge nd cn either e verticl or horizontl. If the vent pipe is verticl, its mill length is indicted from the surfce of the steel pipe, nd if it is horizontl, the mill length is indicted from the centre of the mins. The flnge type corresponds with Tle 13, the permissile pressure is PN10 or PN16. A vent pipe cn e dded to piece of ny shpe, such s pipes, ngled pieces nd T pieces. Often sizes DN80 nd DN100 re used for vent pipe. The seling flnge is mde from two hlves of plte nd is welded to the penetrting steel pipe lredy t the mill. Anchorge flnge Although steel wter pipes re joint-welded into tension-resistnt structure, t times they require for instnce in connection with vlve chmers nd pump rooms nd in connecting to pipe systems with sleeve joints vrious nchorge flnges to support the piping usully in the ductwork of the concrete wll while seling the ductwork. The nchorge flnge cn lso e cst in concrete support under piping. The dimensions nd shpe of the nchorge flnge nd the required reinforcements re determined y the internl wter pressure nd other lods nd pplictions. The nchorge flnge is usully left uncoted for the length of the prt remining inside the concrete wll, ecuse concrete dheres etter to n uncoted steel surfce. Pre-insulted pipes nd fittings SSAB lso offers thermlly insulted, coted steel pipes nd fittings for sites where the piping is not sufficiently protected nd is t risk of freezing during winter. Such sites include pipelines in ridges, ove ground or underground t minimum cover depth. A thermlly insulted pipe consists of plstic PE-HD protective csing, PUR insultion, n nti-corrosion coting, steel pipe nd internl concrete lining. The ends of the fittings cn e equipped to suit vrious joining methods. Metl protection pipes for het trcing cles cn e instlled in the insultion in the ottom of the steel pipe. The delivery cn lso include the mterils required for insulting extension sems t the construction site. A complete repir prt includes steel sleeve nd stright ends, nd the mins pipe in etween these. As n lterntive, SSAB cn lso deliver seprte trnsfer prts for the sleeve or stright end nd cn supply these prts welded to T pieces or flnges, s needed. A T piece in new structure lwys requires corner rce. The originl Sent or Premo selnt (not in SSAB s product offering) is used. In connection with the order, the customer must ensure the comptiility of the repir prt with the existing piping. The repir prts re usully flnge-equipped coted pipes in etween which new vlve or T piece cn e instlled. A T piece in new structure lwys requires corner rce. A plte flnge is welded to one end of the flnge pipe, nd weld-neck flnge to the other end. The steel reinforcement inside the originl Bonn pipe is welded to the plte flnge t the construction site. In the Bonn pipe, pprox. 5 cm of concrete in the sleeve end must e removed efore welding. The exterior dimeter of the plte flnge is suitle for welding to oth the Bonn pipe s sleeve nd stright end. In connection with the order, the customer must ensure the comptiility of the repir prt with the existing piping.
