1 Bsic Vlve??????? WW-400 Bsic Vlve The bsic Model WW-400 diphrgm ctuted hydruliclly operted vlve is t the leding edge of control vlve design. It combines simple nd relible construction with superior performnce, while t the sme time being virtully free of the typicl limittions ssocited with other single chmbered vlves. These utomtic wter control vlves re designed for verticl or horizontl instlltion nd re vilble in dimeter sizes of 11/2-16 ; DN40- DN400, in wide rnge of mterils nd end connections. The design of the WW-400 vlve body includes full bore set with unobstructed flow pth, free of ny in-line ribs, supporting cge, or shfts. The unique hydro-dynmic globe design provides high flow cpbilities with minimum hed loss. The cover is removble for quick in-line inspection nd service. The internl design of the WW-400 vlve is bsed on innovtive technology using dvnced rubber-bsed mterils to chieve solid, one piece elstomeric ssembly including flexible fbric reinforced diphrgm, vulcnized with rugged rdil sel disk. The diphrgm is crefully blnced nd peripherlly supported to void distortion nd to protect the elstomer, resulting in long-life nd controlled ctution even under hrsh conditions. One diphrgm nd spring fully meet the vlve's operting pressure rnge requirements. The diphrgm ssembly cn be esily removed from the vlve body with no need for disssembling the vlve from the line. The Model WW-400 Bsic Vlve uses vlve differentil pressure to power the diphrgm ssembly open or closed. The lower side of the diphrgm, which serves to cushion the closing of the vlve, is exposed to downstrem pressure through dynmic peripherl pssgewy tht its width responds to differentil pressure nd flow long the downstrem side of the vlve. The pressure in the control chmber vries, usully resulting from the combined ction of regulting pilot nd fixed orifice. This vrying pressure modultes the vlve to open or close.
2 Principle of Opertion On-Off Modes Closed Position Line pressure pplied to the control chmber of the vlve cretes hydrulic force tht moves the vlve to the closed position nd provides drip tight seling. Open Position Dischrging the pressure from the control chmber to tmosphere or some other lower pressure zone, cuses the line pressure cting on the plug to open the vlve. 2-Wy Modulting Modes Closed Position The closed djustble pilot vlve trps line pressure in the upper control chmber. The resulting superior force moves the vlve to the fully closed position nd provides drip-tight seling. Modulting Position The pilot vlve senses line pressure chnges nd opens or closes ccordingly. It controls the ccumulted pressure in the vlve upper control chmber, cusing min vlve to modulte to n intermedite position nd mintin the preset pressure vlue. Open Position The open pilot vlve releses line pressure from the upper control chmber. The line pressure cting on both the lower control chmber nd the sel-disk, moves the vlve to the open position.
