1 SET VLVES FETURES Veljan Seat Valves are bdy type munting series VD4S and cartridge units series VCR. The cmplete range f cartridges - bdy munted VD4S and manifld munted VCR are sized frm /8 t 1 1/2 permit flws frm 180 lpm t 600 lpm and pressures up t 50 bar. The interface prting n the subplate bdy versins fllw CETOP, ISO and DIN standards and is dimensinally identical with the VELJN VR4 series f pressure cntrls. Hence VD4S and VR4 valves can be cnveniently used in cmbined circuitry. The mdular design is used in all valve sizes and the valves are used fr a variety f functins : - s a leak - prf directinal cntrl - s a pressure cntrl fr the adjustment r limitatin f the pressure - s a check valve t btain unidirectinal flw - s a thrttle valve t cntrl and limit the rate f flw variety f standard cmbinatins f internal cmpnents are available alng with additinal ptins t suit special circuitry. These ptins are : - Pppet strke limiter : t cntrl maximum flw rate, - Vent valve sandwiched : t electrically cntrl pppet peratin, - Seat area changes : t vary peratinal characteristics, - Shuttle valves : T take pilt il frm Prt and Prt. dvantages f VCR cartridge valves are that when integrated with specially designed manifld blcks they ffer space and cst savings in cmparisn with cnventinal piped circuit cnstructin. manifld design using cartridges is mre sphisticated than utilising VD4S units and greater attentin is required in the assembly f the cartridges int the maniflds. Fast respnse and rapid frequency f peratin even at the highest flw is achieved due t pppet design and precise rati between its mass and strke. The cast passages within the VD4S valve bdy when used with crrectly designed maniflds ensure circuits in which pressure drp and il turbulence is minimal. Veljan seat valves and cartridges functin t direct flw frm prt t prt r vice - versa and their peratin is dependent upn the effective pressure area and spring frce n the pppet. The cracking pressure is prprtinal t the rati f cntrl area t seat r ring area. Pilt pressure at prt acting n the cntrl area clses the seat valve, thus frces generated by cylinders r hydraulic mtrs can be decelerated t zer by cntrlling the differential pressure. cceleratin r deceleratin f fluid which the seat valve is cntrlling will take place whilst the valve is pening r clsing and the time nrmally necessary t vercme verlap in cnventinal spl valves is eliminated. In additin t this imprved respnse time, the actin als ensures that the seat valve functins withut intrducing system pressure peaks r shcks and therefre machine cycle times may be reduced withut detriment. The basic element incrprated in bth the bdy munted and cartridge type (manifld) munted series is the main cartridge cmprising pppet spl, sleeve and spring.
