6 INSERT SPECIFICATIONS - 1/4" TEMPERED GLASS 1/16" etched lines at 1/4" spacing 1/4" etched lines at 1/4" spacing custm etched lg ¼ tempered safety glass is used in the eluma panel. The lad bearing capability is 75lbs per SF. The glass used in eluma is a prprietary prcess and prduct that gives eluma its illuminatin characteristics. The etched lines are recmmended t be in the same directin that the light (parallel t the depth) is traveling. The etched lines are required they are what carry the light thrughut the panel. The lines are available in tw thicknesses, 1/16 & ¼. The spacing f the lines is ¼ fr bth line thickness ptins. 15 depth/height glass is recmmended. There is a 50% drp-ff f light at 15. The amunt f etching affects the light utput. Thin lines prvide higher light utput than thick lines fr lnger depth panels. The light drp-ff is still 50% at 15, hwever, the thin etched lines are brighter. Shelving (hrizntal) applicatins at r arund eye level will help t hide the light drp ff cnditin. When panel depth/height must be greater than the recmmended maximum, ppsing LED strips may be used. Custm etched lgs in the glass are pssible based n the custmer supplying the image in the fllwing frmat: Black & White (nly) OR line drawings Bitmap file type preferred but JPEG is als pssible High reslutin image (> 500KB) A custm lg etching fee will apply. The chemically etched lg fee is ecnmical versus ther glass etching techniques. Small scratches, bubbles, etc. may be visible in the insert when eluma is turned n. These are inherent within the glass and are part f the prduct. 6

7 INSERT SPECIFICATIONS - 1/4" ACRYLIC Illuminated Acrylic The acrylic has an abrasin resistant cating n bth sides specifically designed fr eluma panels. The abrasin resistant cating makes the panels scratch resistant but nt scratch prf. The acrylic is clear when nt pwered n yet becmes fully frsted when illuminated. eluma is the nly LED panel n the market with cnsistent and slid illuminatin (versus grid pattern etched acrylic, etc.). 18 depth/height is recmmended fr acrylic. A 50% drp-ff f light ccurs at 18. Depending n hw the panel is being used, the acrylic depth/height can be up 21. Panels exceeding the 18 / 21 recmmendatin can use 2 LEDs t achieve even illuminatin. Acrylic becmes amber starting beynd 18 depth, regardless f LED clr. Cnsult Element Designs fr lad bearing limitatins. 7

Warm has a sft yellwish glw and is cmmnly used in residential envirnments. The clr temperature fr warm is 3500K. Daylight has a cl bluish tint and is cmmnly used in cmmercial & retail applicatins. The clr temperature f daylight is 6500K..3W per LED LEDs 30mm 1LF f light utput is 3W 3 chip dide units 120 f light dispersin frm LEDs 12VDC input pwer CRI (clr rendering index) f 90 (ut f 100). Clred LED panels are als available in a variety f clrs. 8

Input vltage is 1.5A with an utput f 12V = 5A 18W (EL-DC-ELT-18-CON): 18W maximum transfrmer (6LF f LEDs) The 18W transfrmer can supprt tw average size panels r 3 smaller panels. Input vltage is 1.5A with an utput f 12V = 5A 9

10 COMPONENT SPECIFICATIONS - ADJUSTABLE PANEL COMPONENTS Pwer bar (EL-MAG-TR-1M): The pwer bar track is designed t be installed vertically (primarily) r hrizntally in a bx r n a wall. The bar is 1M (39 ) in length and cmes with tw end caps that are NOT pre-installed. - Bth pwer bar end caps, white male cnnectr, and screws are bagged separately. - One end cap includes a pwer feed with a 12 wire that will be fitted with the male white cnnectr. The ther end cap is fr munting purpses nly. - The white male cnnectr will nt be installed s that the installer can rute the wire thrugh a thru hle and keep the hle diameter minimized. The wires shuld be checked fr crrect rientatin t the cnnectr blck n the transfrmer (nte the side with the clip is the psitive side f the blck). Once crrect rientatin is achieved, the wires shuld be firmly pushed int the white male cnnectr. - The track is cut using any type f saw. - The track can als be linked t ther tracks using additinal track link cmpnents. (Nt supplied as a standard cmpnent. Cntact Element Designs fr mre infrmatin.) Magnet (EL-MAG-ADP): Magnet adapter that clips t pwer bar. The magnet has a black male cnnectr that will plug directly int the 2 (apprx.) pig tail that exits the eluma panel. Extensin wire fr pwer bar (EL-EXT-2M): 2M (78 3/4 ) extensin wire t plug wire cming frm pwer bar t transfrmer. Nte if transfrmer & pwer bar are in clse prximity, this extensin wire is nt necessary. 10

11 COMPONENT SPECIFICATIONS - FIXED PANEL COMPONENTS Extensin wire frm panel (EL-EXT-PKT-2M): 2m (78 ¾ )extensin wire that has male cnnectr t plug directly int panel. T be used when adjustability feature is nt necessary. Extensin wire fr pwer bar (EL-EXT-2M): 2M (78 ¾ )extensin wire is same as abve but used in this applicatin fr additinal extensin between PKT 2M extensin wire & transfrmer. 11

12 COMPONENT SPECIFICATIONS - ON/ OFF SWITCH COMPONENTS Switches (EL-RDSW-2M-WH <white> & EL-RDSW-2M-BL <black>): Rcker switches t be installed between the pwer surce (wall utlet) & the transfrmer. (see instructins) Tuch Sensr (EL-TS2-72): Higher end switch that will turn panels n r ff with cntact. Tuch sensr t be installed between transfrmer & cnnectr blck. (see instructins) 12

13 INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS - ELUMA LED PANELS WITH POWER BAR ** Read and fllw all safety and installatin instructins carefully** Befre beginning any wiring, be sure pwer is turned OFF t transfrmer. T Install Magnetic Pwer Bar: 1. Determine where t install Class II DC transfrmer (EL-DC-ELT60-CON r EL-DC-ELT18-CON) and pwer bar. Be sure pwer bar wires will prperly reach the transfrmer and 120V pwer surce. 2. Psitin and munt 12V DC transfrmer (EL-DC- ELT60-CON r EL-DC-ELT18-CON). 3. Magnetic Pwer Bar is available in standard 1M (39 ) track lengths. Cut track lengths as required. Precautin: When cutting track, hld it firm t prevent the metal track rails and nncnductive barrier (black plastic) frm pulling apart. Fr best results, clamp track t a vise and cut slwly and evenly with a fine tth blade hacksaw. T Wire Pwer Bar: 4. Slide pwer feed ver bar (pressure fit). 5. Psitin pwer bar. Use munting end clips with screws t munt pwer bar t surface. (Recmmended track lcatins: n inside face frame f cabinet, r right side f back wall f cabinet in frameless cabinets.) IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS CAUTION: T reduce the risk f fire, electric shck, expsure t excessive UV radiatin, r injury t persns: Use nly in dry indr lcatins. Nt fr use where expsed t the weather. Pwer bar cannt tuch any ther cnductive surface (metal, etc.) r an electrical shrt may ccur. Wiring and materials shuld cnfrm t natinal (NEC) and lcal electrical cdes. A licensed electrician shuld be cnsulted fr wiring thrugh ceilings, sffits r walls. Shelves ver 36 shuld use an additinal center shelf supprt. D nt exceed 75 lbs per shelf (including shelf weight = 3 lbs/ sq.ft.) Save these instructins fr future reference. Fr technical assistance: (704) Run wire t transfrmer. Snap wire int transfrmer blck. Cautin: Transfrmer must be turned ff when making cnnectins. 60W max per transfrmer. Be sure t keep plarity crrect: (+)Red with (+)Red, (-)Black with (-)Black. 7. Place panel in cabinet nt shelf pins that meet KCMA requirements. Wire shuld be facing pwer bar. T Install Panels (Shelves): 8. Cnnect panel wire t magnet and place magnet n pwer bar. Be sure t keep plarity crrect: (+)Red with (+)Red, (-)Black with (-)Black. If shelf des nt light, reverse the magnet cnnectin t re-establish plarity. 9. Duble check all cnnectins and then turn pwer n t transfrmer. ATTENTION: Altering system frm manufacturer s instructins/ recmmendatins vids all warranty! 13

19 WARRANTY/ REPAIR PROGRAM Warranty The eluma system carries a ne year warranty frm date f manufacture that will cver parts and labr. Any altering f the system will vid warranty. Repair/Replacement Prgram Element Designs will ffer a repair and replacement prgram fr panels which are nt cvered by warranty. The custmer is nt permitted t disassemble r alter the prduct in anyway. All repairs must be perfrmed by Element Designs. A fee $25.00 will apply t all repairs nt including any cmpnents. 19
