The engine is turbcharged and fitted with an intercler. Cmbustin is highly efficient thanks t electrnic engine management and cmmn rail fuel injectin. The benefits are nticeable in the truck s driving characteristics: the unbeatably rapid respnse and the pwerful trque frm lw revs, making this engine ideal fr varius frms f distributin peratin, nt least in the urban envirnment. The D7F in hybrid variant is available with pwer utputs f 300 and 340 hp prducing trque f 1160 and 1300 Nm respectively. This means there is always an engine ptimised fr its particular transprt assignment. The engine meets the Eur 5 requirements with the help f SCR technlgy.

The I-Shift and the Pwertrain Management Unit (I+PMU) autmatically manage gear changing, engaging f the pwer surces and charging. 2. At higher speeds, the diesel engine (D) is started and bth engines wrk in parallel. 3. When engine braking, the electric mtr (E/G) wrks as a generatr and delivers energy t the batteries (B). This is why the hybrid drive perfectly suits peratins such as city distributin r refuse transprtatin at an average speed f 30 km/h with frequent braking.
