Target group of these operatng nstructons These operatng nstructons are orented towards users of the electromechancal torque wrench. We assume that the users possess general techncal knowledge. Each person who carres out the followng actvtes wth the electromechancal torque wrench must have read and understood the full content of these operatng nstructons: Set-up Programmng Operaton Mantenance or Dsposal. 5 Basc safety nstructons Proper use The Manoskop 730D electromechancal torque wrench serves to measure torques durng the controlled tghtenng and loosenng of threaded connectons n the workshop sector. To do ths, an approprate socket tool must be connected to the torque wrench. Load can also be placed on the Manoskop 730D torque wrench counter to ts functonal drecton. The maxmum permssble nomnal torque of the torque wrench must never be exceeded. Proper use ncludes complyng wth the nformaton contaned n these operatng nstructons n full. In partcular, also comply wth and follow the safety nstructons and the techncal lmt values. The relevant accdent preventon regulatons of the responsble employer's lablty nsurance assocaton and all further applcable safety regulatons must also be observed. The Manoskop 730D electromechancal torque wrench must only be used for the specfed purposes. STAHLWILLE accepts no lablty for damage whch occurs as a result of mproper use. In partcular, mproper use ncludes the uncontrolled loosenng of sezed, e.g. rusted, threaded connectons use as a crowbar use as an mpact tool. Safety nstructons The torque wrench s a precson tool, and must accordngly be handled wth care. Avod mechancal, chemcal or thermal effects whch exceed the stresses nvolved n proper use. Ensure that extreme clmatc condtons such as cold, heat and humdty are unable to nfluence accuracy. Do not overload the torque wrench. Adhere under all crcumstances to the measurng range specfcatons of the laser dentfcaton on the torque wrench. You may otherwse damage the torque wrench. Example of laser dentfcaton: Avod rsks of njury Dutes when handlng these operatng nstructons For the sake of smplcty, the term torque wrench s used throughout the remander of these nstructons nstead of Manoskop. The user of ths torque wrench s responsble for the fact that these operatng nstructons are constantly avalable when workng wth the torque wrench. Store the operatng nstructons n the vcnty of the torque wrench. Do not use the torque wrench as an mpact tool. Check the torque wrench, ncludng accessores, pror to use. Never use the torque wrench or accessores f damaged. Rechargeable batteres and standard batteres must not fall nto the hands of chldren. Chldren may place them n ther mouths and swallow them. 5

6 Avodng damage to the torque wrench Do not use the torque wrench as an mpact tool. Check the torque wrench, ncludng accessores, pror to use. Never use the torque wrench or accessores f damaged. Do not overload the torque wrench. Severe or permanent overloadng may lead to damage to the torque wrench. Never expose the torque wrench to ran, mosture or other fluds. Do not allow foregn bodes to enter the torque wrench housng. Always cover the PC connecton socket when not n use. Do not use the torque wrench for the uncontrolled loosenng of sezed - e.g. rusted - threaded connectons. Never exceed the maxmum lmt torque of 130% of the nomnal value. Never open the torque wrench housng. Do not press on the dsplay. Make sure that all of the socket tools and connectors whch are used are frmly connected and correctly nserted. Leakng standard batteres and rechargeable batteres may cause damage to the torque wrench. Remove the batteres f the torque wrench s not used for a long perod of tme. Avodng malfunctons Check the cut-out accuracy at regular ntervals, see page 21. Do not overload the torque wrench. Severe or permanent overloadng may lead to torque wrench measurement errors. Never exceed the maxmum lmt torque of 130% of the nomnal value. Measured and cut-out values may devate. Do not knk cables or connectors, and never expose these to excessve tensle forces or temperatures. Make sure that all of the socket tools and connectors whch are used are frmly connected and correctly nserted. Make sure that the correct extenson s set. Use of rechargeable batteres and standard batteres Rechargeable batteres and standard batteres may contan toxns whch harm the envronment. Rechargeable batteres and standard batteres must not fall nto the hands of chldren. Chldren may place them n ther mouths and swallow them. Leakng standard batteres and rechargeable batteres may cause damage to the torque wrench. Remove the batteres f the torque wrench s not used for a long perod of tme. If a battery has leaked, put on gloves and clean the battery compartment wth a dry cloth. Replace weakenng rechargeable batteres and standard batteres n good tme. Always replace all rechargeable batteres and standard batteres at the same tme. Use only rechargeable batteres and standard batteres of the same type. Only use sutable chargers for chargng the rechargeable batteres. Do not charge standard batteres. Dspose of rechargeable batteres and standard batteres accordng to the applcable legal regulatons under all crcumstances. Never dspose of rechargeable batteres and standard batteres n the normal domestc waste. Dspose of spent standard batteres and defectve rechargeable batteres at a collecton pont. 6

7 Transportaton, scope of delvery and storage Transport the torque wrench n the orgnal packagng only, and secure t to prevent t from beng dropped durng transportaton. Store the torque wrench at a temperature of 20 C to +80 C. 1 Dsplay 2 Down arrow button (select) 3 Up arrow button (select) 4 OK button (confrm) 5 Functon button (F button) Buttons The four buttons on the torque wrench can be used to select functons and carry out settngs. The dsplay lghts up for approx. fve seconds each tme a button s pressed. Torque wrench s swtched off Each button To swtch on the torque wrench, press any button for approx. one second. 7

Dsplay last measured torque value: Press ths button once brefly. Save values manually n "Indcatng" functon mode: Press ths button followng the tghtenng process. The torque value s dsplayed. Press ths button agan as long as the torque value s dsplayed. A bref sgnal tone can be heard. The value s saved. Swtch off the button lock: Press ths button brefly twce n successon. Call up menus: Press ths button untl the desred menu s dsplayed. The user must have suffcent freedom of movement. The usage locaton must be suffcently brght. The recommended operatng temperature s 10 C to +60 C. Pror to use, the torque wrench must be able to adapt to the clmatc condtons durng subsequent usage for at least one hour. The torque wrench must be protected aganst harmful nfluences, e.g. due to solng or mosture. Power supply Make sure that the torque wrench's power supply s guaranteed. The followng standard battery/ rechargeable battery types can be used: AA/LR6, 1.5V standard mgnon batteres AA/LR6, 1.2V rechargeable NMH mgnon batteres AA/LR6 RAM, 1.5V rechargeable mgnon batteres. CAUTION Danger due to explodng rechargeable batteres. Always use the correct charger for chargng the dfferent types of rechargeable battery. Attenton Damage to the torque wrench possble. Make sure that the rechargeable batteres or standard batteres have a maxmum voltage of 1.5V. On (key lock swtched on) Defne PIN code OFF (key lock swtched off), no symbol n the dsplay When the key lock s swtched on, the fourdgt PIN code must be entered before changng a value. In delvery condton, the key lock s swtched off, and the PIN code s "0000". 9

10 Insertng rechargeable batteres/standard batteres A sutable con, etc. s requred to open the battery compartment cover. Turn the cover counter clockwse to stop usng the con. Remove the cover. Insert the rechargeable batteres or standard batteres, observng the polarty specfed on the handle. If a value of more than 0.1 s dsplayed n the dsplay, tare the torque wrench manually. Manual tarng Swtch off the torque wrench and place t on a flat surface. To tare the torque wrench wth an nsert tool mounted, allow ths to project e.g. over the edge of the bench. Make sure that no forces are actng on the torque wrench. Keep the torque wrench steady throughout the entre tarng process. Press the OK button for longer than two seconds. The tarng process starts. Four horzontal dashes are shown n the dsplay. The "TARA!" symbol flashes. If a value of more than 0.1 s dsplayed n the dsplay, then tare the torque wrench agan. Insert the cover nto the battery compartment recesses. Press gently on the cover usng the con. Turn the cover clockwse to stop usng the con. Tarng the torque wrench WARNING Rsk of njury due to ncorrect measured values durng tarng. Make sure that the torque wrench s not moved or placed under stran durng the tarng process. To ensure precse measurement, the torque wrench must be tared durng each boltng process. Automatc tarng Swtch off the torque wrench and place t on a flat surface. To tare the torque wrench wth an nsert tool mounted, allow ths to project e.g. over the edge of the bench. Make sure that no forces are actng on the torque wrench. Keep the torque wrench steady throughout the entre tarng process. Press any button to swtch on the torque wrench. The software verson number s shown n the dsplay. Brefly press the OK button. If the "Save values" functon s swtched on, the fourdgt boltng applcaton number s dsplayed. To confrm the boltng applcaton, press the OK button. To create a new boltng applcaton, proceed as descrbed on page 14. The current torque value whch s set s dsplayed. The "TARA!" symbol flashes n the dsplay. The torque wrench s tared wthn a few seconds. 10

11 Selecton of nserts and socket tools WARNING Rsk of njury due to unsutable nserts and socket tools. Use only nserts or socket tools whose shape and desgn are sutable for the ntended usage. Attenton Damage to the measurement elements of the torque wrench possble. Protect the torque wrench e.g. from hard mpacts or beng dropped. Attenton Damage to the torque wrench possble. Ensure the followng when usng nserts wth square drve on the torque wrench: That the nserts are desgned n accordance wth the standards. That the nserts are of the correct shape and sze for the jont wth the threaded connecton whch s to be tghtened. STAHLWILLE socket tools guarantee the correct lever length, possess the necessary accuracy of ft n all contact areas and have the requred materal strength. WARNING Rsk of njury due to exceedng the maxmum load bearng capablty of the nserts and socket tools. Make sure that maxmum load bearng capablty of the nserts and socket tools s not exceeded. Ths may be lower than the maxmum permssble torque of the torque wrench. WARNING Rsk of njury due to ncorrectly mounted socket tools. Make sure that the socket tools are secured aganst pullng off by engagng the retanng pn. WARNING Rsk of njury due to ncorrectly set extenson. Make sure that the extenson approprate for the socket tool s set on the torque wrench. CAUTION Rsk of njury due to nternally produced specal tools. Produce specal tools n consultaton wth STAHLWILLE only. CAUTION Rsk of njury due to unsutable nsert tools. Use only the nsert tools recommended n the STAHLWILLE catalogue. 11

12 Mountng an nsert tool Insert the nsert tool nto the wrench head's square socket. When dong ths, the sprng-loaded retanng pn of the nsert tool's QuckRelease safety lockng mechansm s pressed down by the nsert slope. Contnue pushng the socket tool n to the stop. Make sure that the retanng pn jumps nto the detent bore of the QuckRelease safety lockng mechansm. Removng an nsert tool Insert tool nstalled "normally" Press the green QuckRelease button on the lower sde of the wrench head (A). Pull the nsert tool out (B). Check that the nsert tool s securely seated. For controlled, counter clockwse tghtenng wth cut-out, connect the socket tool, rotated by 180, wth the torque wrench. Socket tool nstalled rotated by 180 Insert a thn drft from the outsde nto the detent bore on the upper sde of the wrench head. Use the drft to press the retanng pn down (A). Pull the nsert tool out (B). If a ratchet nsert s used, swtch ths to the desred operatng drecton by turnng the selector dsk. Poston the approprate socket onto the square drve of the reversble ratchet untl t engages audbly. 12

13 Carryng out menu settngs Swtchng on the torque wrench Press any button for approx. one second. The software verson number s dsplayed n the dsplay. Press the OK button. If the "Save values" functon s swtched on, the fourdgt boltng applcaton number s dsplayed. To confrm the boltng applcaton, press the OK button. To create a new boltng applcaton, proceed as descrbed on page 14. The current torque value whch s set s dsplayed. The "TARA!" symbol flashes n the dsplay. The torque wrench s tared. After tarng, the torque wrench s n ts basc status. Savng settngs If you have carred out settngs n a menu tem, proceed as follows: To accept the settng and return to basc status, press the OK button. To accept the settng and swtch to a dfferent menu tem, press the F button untl the desred menu s dsplayed. Settng a torque value Press the F button untl the torque value s dsplayed. The set torque value flashes. Use the arrow buttons to set the desred value. Each tme one of the arrow buttons s touched brefly, the value s adjusted by one dvson step wthn the permssble range. The value can be adjusted quckly by pressng the arrow button for a longer tme. Save the settng as descrbed on page 13. Carryng out basc settngs Settngs n delvery condton The "Cut-out" functon mode s set n delvery condton. The descrpton of the functons assumes that the torque wrench s n "basc status". Ths s the status after swtchng on the torque wrench and completon of the tarng process. Button lock To protect the torque wrench from unntentonal changes n the menus, t s equpped wth a button lock. If you wsh to carry out settngs n the menus, the button lock must frst be swtched off. Proceed as follows: Brefly press the F button twce n successon. Settng a unt of measurement On swtchng the unt of measurement, the value of the current settng s automatcally converted. Attenton Materal damage possble due to ncorrectly set values. Make sure that the torque value whch s set after changng the unt of measurement s correct. To set the unt of measurement, press the F button untl the unt of measurement s dsplayed. The set unt of measurement flashes. Use the arrow buttons to select the desred unt of measurement. Save the settng as descrbed on page

14 Settng the functon mode "Cut-out" or "Indcatng" functon mode can be set. Press the F button untl the "Clck" symbol s dsplayed. "On" or "OFF" flashes. Use the arrow buttons to select the desred functon mode. Select "On" to set the "Cut-out" functon mode. The "Cut out" functon mode can be recognzed by the "Clck" symbol n the dsplay. If you would lke to assgn the saved data to the current tme, update the wrench tme usng the documentaton software. If you swtch on the "Save values" functon, you may also assgn boltng applcaton numbers. Press the F button untl the "Dsk" symbol s dsplayed. "On" or "OFF" flashes. To save the boltng data, use the arrow buttons to select "On". Ths "Dsk" symbol n the dsplay shows whether the boltng data are saved. Select "OFF" to set the "Indcatng" functon mode. The "Clck" symbol s not dsplayed. Save the settng as descrbed on page 13. Settng the boltng tolerance Ths functon can be used to set the upper and lower tolerance value for the set torque value. Press the F button untl the "Tol±" symbol s dsplayed. "On" or "OFF" flashes. To work wthout a boltng tolerance, use the arrow buttons to select "OFF". To work wth a boltng tolerance, use the arrow buttons to select "On". Use the arrow buttons to set the desred lower tolerance value. The lower tolerance value s dentfed wth a mnus symbol. Use the arrow buttons to set the desred upper tolerance value. A boltng tolerance whch has been set can be recognzed by the "Tol±" symbol n the dsplay. Save the settng as descrbed on page 13. Savng values Ths functon can be used to determne whether or not the boltng data are saved. Ths s carred out automatcally n the "Cut-out" functon mode. In the "Indcatng" functon mode, press the OK button twce. In order not to save the boltng data, use the arrow buttons to select "OFF". The "Dsk" symbol s not dsplayed. Save the settng as descrbed on page 13. To assgn the boltng applcatons durng evaluaton wth the PC, boltng applcaton numbers can be assgned. The "Save values" functon must be swtched on to create a boltng applcaton. Press the F button untl the four-dgt boltng applcaton number s dsplayed. Press the OK button to confrm the number of the boltng applcaton. To assgn a new number for the boltng applcaton, press the F button. The frst dgt of the four-dgt boltng applcaton number flashes. Use the arrow buttons to select the frst dgt. The second dgt of the four-dgt boltng applcaton number flashes. Proceed as descrbed above to set the remanng dgts for the boltng applcaton number. Now carry out all of the other menu settngs for ths boltng applcaton. The settngs for the current boltng applcaton are saved n the torque wrench. 14

15 Extenson correcton The torque wrench s set to the standard extenson. Wth square nsert 9 12=17.5 mm Wth square nsert 14 18=25.0 mm Ths functon can be used to correct socket tools wth a devatng extenson. A extenson correcton whch has been set can be recognzed by the "double arrow" symbol n the dsplay. WARNING Rsk of njury due to ncorrectly tghtened threaded connectons. Check the extenson n the case of each socket tool whch s used. Set the extenson correctly n the extenson correcton menu. Use a callper gauge to determne the extenson S, as shown n the llustraton. In the case of combnatons of socket tools and adapters, the sum of all extensons must be taken nto consderaton. To select the extenson correcton menu tem, press the F button untl the "double arrow" symbol s dsplayed. "On" or "OFF" flashes. If you wsh to work wthout extenson correcton, use the arrow buttons to select "OFF". If you wsh to work wth extenson correcton, use the arrow buttons to select "On". Use the arrow buttons to set the desred extenson n mlmetres. Save the settng as descrbed on page 13. Automatc tarng Ths functon can be used to set whether the torque wrench s to subsequently tare tself automatcally. To select the automatc tarng menu tem, press the F button untl the "TARA!" symbol s dsplayed. "On" or "OFF" flashes. In order not to subsequently tare the torque wrench automatcally, use the arrow buttons to select "OFF". In order to subsequently tare the torque wrench automatcally, use the arrow buttons to select "On". Automatc tarng can be recognzed by the "TARA!" symbol n the dsplay. Save the settng as descrbed on page

16 Swtchng on the key lock Ths functon can be used to lock the settng optons for users who do not have access to the PIN code. To select the key lock menu tem, press the F button untl the "Key" symbol s dsplayed. "On" or "OFF" flashes. To work wthout the key lock, use the arrow buttons to select "OFF". To swtch on the key lock, use the arrow buttons to select "On". When you have swtched on the key lock, you cannot change settngs wthout enterng the PIN code. In delvery condton, the PIN code s "0000". When set, the key lock can be recognzed by the "Key" symbol n the dsplay. Save the settng as descrbed on page 13. Enterng/changng the PIN code Attenton Lmted use of the torque wrench wthout the correct PIN code. Store the PIN code n a safe locaton. If you have forgotten the PIN code, contact STAHLWILLE. In delvery condton, the torque wrench PIN code s set to "0000". Use the arrow buttons to select a dgt between 0 and 9. The second dgt of the four-dgt PIN code flashes. To set the remanng dgts of the PIN code, proceed as descrbed above. After enterng the last dgt of the PIN code, press the F or OK button. The PIN code s now saved. Note the new PIN code. Enterng the PIN code No settngs can be changed n the torque wrench menu wthout enterng the correct PIN code. The PIN code s only requested when the key lock has been swtched on and a PIN code has been set. Swtch on the torque wrench. Press the OK button. Wat untl tarng has been completed. Press the F button twce. The frst dgt of the four-dgt PIN code flashes. If you do not make an entry wthn approx. three seconds after pressng the F button, the torque wrench swtches back to ts basc status. Use the arrow buttons to select the frst dgt of your PIN code. The second dgt of the four-dgt PIN code flashes. To set the remanng dgts of the PIN code, proceed as descrbed above. After enterng the last dgt of the PIN code, press the F or OK button. Settngs can now be carred out n the menu. The PIN code can be set or changed n the "Swtch on key lock" menu. Call up the "Swtch on key lock" menu. Press the F button untl the "Key" symbol s dsplayed. "On" or "OFF" flashes. To swtch on the key lock, use the arrow buttons to select "On". The frst dgt of the four-dgt PIN code flashes. 16

17 Short nstructons - practcal example An example of settng the 730D/20 torque wrench completely s descrbed n the followng. The followng data are to be set: Torque value 90 N m "Cut-out" functon mode Boltng tolerance 3 N m, +5 N m The values whch are acheved are to be saved. Boltng applcaton number The extenson s 40 mm. The current torque value whch s set s dsplayed. The "TARA!" symbol flashes n the dsplay. The torque wrench s automatcally tared wthn a few seconds. To set the torque value, press the F button untl the torque value s dsplayed. The set torque value flashes. Use the arrow buttons to set the torque value to 90 N m. Use the arrow buttons to set the upper tolerance range. Use the arrow buttons to set the unt of measurement to N m, f necessary. Attenton Materal damage possble due to ncorrectly set values. Make sure that the torque value whch s set after changng the unt of measurement s correct. In order to save the boltng data, use the arrow buttons to select "On". The frst dgt of the four-dgt boltng applcaton number flashes. Use the arrow buttons to select the frst dgt. The second dgt of the four-dgt boltng applcaton number flashes. 17

Slght movements or the applcaton of stran on the torque wrench durng the tarng process lead to measurement errors. Actuatng the torque wrench WARNING Rsk of njury due to ncorrectly mounted socket tools. Make sure that the socket tools are secured aganst pullng off by engagng the retanng pn. Use the arrow buttons to set the extenson. WARNING Rsk of njury due to ncorrectly set torque values. Make sure that the torque value s set correctly. To accept the settng and return to the basc status, press the OK button. Attenton Damage to the torque wrench possble. Make sure that the torque wrench s not overloaded. Never exceed the maxmum torque whch can be set (see laser letterng on the housng tube). Only actuate the torque wrench usng the handle. Grp the handle centrally. Tghten tangental to the swvelng radus and at an angle to the tghtenng axs. 18

Followng cut-out, the torque wrench s mmedately ready for use agan. Dsplays and sgnals durng actuaton CAUTION Rsk of njury due to overloadng the torque wrench. Do not load the torque wrench n excess of the maxmum measurng range. End the tghtenng process once the set torque has been reached. If the maxmum measurng range s exceeded, several sgnal tones are heard at ntervals. "Indcatng" functon mode Durng tghtenng, observe the torque values n the dsplay. Tghten evenly and, n the fnal phase, wthout nterrupton, untl you see the set or desred torque value or the green lght n the dsplay. The coloured sgnals are only output f you have entered values n the "Boltng tolerance" menu. The set torque has been reached. Controlled counter clockwse tghtenng Controlled counter clockwse tghtenng can be carred out wthout any further settngs. If you use ratchet nserts, these must be swtched to "left-hand" operatng drecton. "Cut-out" functon mode When tghtenng a bolt, the torque whch s currently present s dsplayed on the dsplay. As soon as the prevously set tolerance range s reached, the dsplay lghts up green. A short sgnal tone s addtonally sounded. As soon as the prevously set torque value has been reached, the torque wrench dsengages wth a perceptble jolt and an audble clck. If the prevously set, upper tolerance value s exceeded, the dsplay lghts up red. A long sgnal tone s addtonally sounded. 20 Manually savng boltng values In the "Indcatng" functon mode, the boltng values can only be saved manually. Proceed as follows to save the boltng values manually: "On" must be selected n the "Save values" menu, see page 14. Followng the tghtenng process n "Indcatng" functon mode, press the OK button. The torque last appled s dsplayed n the dsplay. Press the OK button agan as long as the torque value s dsplayed. A bref sgnal tone s heard. The value s saved. The torque value s only saved once even f the OK button s pressed several tmes. Correctng and savng exceeded torque If a threaded connecton has unntentonally been tghtened wth excessve torque, proceed as follows: Loosen the threaded connecton. Press the OK button followng the loosenng process. The torque last appled s dsplayed n the dsplay. Connectng the torque wrench to the PC If the torque wrench s connected to a PC, the values from the torque wrench memory can be transferred to the PC. The prerequstes for connecton to a PC are: A USB nterface, Mcrosoft Wndows and Installaton of the software for documentng and processng the saved data. The software ncl. connecton cable are avalable as accessores (artcle number ) from STAHLWILLE. Fold the sealng plug for the PC connecton socket to the sde. The socket for connectng the PC s now exposed. In one movement, nsert the jack plug to stop nto the PC connecton socket. Insert the USB connector nto the PC's USB connecton. Press the OK button agan. A bref sgnal tone s sounded. The value s saved. WARNING Rsk of njury due to damaged bolts or workpeces. Before tghtenng the threaded connecton agan, check the bolt and the workpece for damage. If n doubt, use a new bolt. Tghten the threaded connecton agan. The saved loosenng torque s dsplayed n negatve form n the software on the PC. Followng usage To swtch off the torque wrench, press the F button for approx. two seconds. If the torque wrench s not used for a long perod of tme, t swtches tself off after approx. fve mnutes. Make sure that the connectors are securely seated. Start the software nstalled on the PC. The lnk between the torque wrench and the PC s establshed automatcally For further nformaton, refer to the descrpton of the software for documentng and processng the saved data. To dsconnect the torque wrench from the PC followng data transfer, proceed as follows: Pull the jack plug from the PC connecton socket on the torque wrench. Seal the PC connecton socket wth the sealng plug. 20

21 Fault rectfcaton The battery symbol n the dsplay flashes The rechargeable batteres' state of charge s no longer suffcent or the standard batteres are draned. Make new standard batteres or charged rechargeable batteres ready. Replace the rechargeable batteres wth charged batteres or nsert new standard batteres, see page 10. The saved boltng data are retaned n the event of battery replacement. If no rechargeable batteres or standard batteres are contaned n the torque wrench for longer than 15 mnutes, the tme must be synchronsed wth the PC va the nstalled software followng battery replacement. If the flashng battery symbol s not heeded, the torque wrench swtches tself off after a short whle. The symbol for data storage n the dsplay flashes The torque wrench memory s full. Further boltng processes can be carred out, but these wll no longer be saved. Clear the memory usng the software nstalled on the PC. Cleanng Attenton Materal damage possble due to ncorrect cleanng. Clean the torque wrench wth a dry, clean cloth only. Repar, mantenance and adjustment In the event of damage to the torque wrench or malfunctons, repar wth subsequent adjustment s necessary. Repars must only be carred out by STAHLWILLE. Wth the excepton of regular calbraton, the torque wrench s mantenance-free. Durng usage, the nteror components of the torque wrench are subject to normal wear. The accuracy of the cut-out values must therefore be checked at regular ntervals. Adjustment nstructons Calbraton or adjustment of the torque wrench must only be carred out usng a sutable tester. Torque wrenches are nspecton, measurng and test equpment. The calbraton nterval s dependent on factors such as the requred accuracy, frequency of use, typcal stran durng usage, envronmental condtons durng the workng process and storage condtons. The perod of tme for calbraton and adjustment results from the nspecton, measurng and test equpment control process (e.g. ISO 9000 ff) defned wthn your company. If nspecton, measurng and test equpment control s not carred out wthn your company, have the torque wrench calbrated and adjusted after a maxmum of 12 months, startng from ntal use, or after 5000 actuatons. If you see "Cal" n the dsplay after swtchng on the torque wrench, you should have the torque wrench calbrated. To reset the "Cal" dsplay, press the F button whlst "Cal" s dsplayed. "Cal" wll not appear agan untl the torque wrench has been actuated a further 5000 tmes. Attenton Materal damage possble due to ncorrect nspecton values. Before nspectng the torque wrench, swtch off boltng tolerance. If nspecton reveals devatons, the torque wrench must be adjusted. Inspecton and adjustment must be carred out accordng to the specfcatons of DIN EN ISO Addtonally adhere to and comply wth all further legal specfcatons and regulatons. Adjustng devatng measured values Your torque wrench can be sent to STAHLWILLE for adjustment. The torque wrench wll be returned adjusted and wth a new factory calbraton certfcate. 21

22 You may also adjust the torque wrench yourself f you possess a torque tester wth correspondng capacty and accuracy. The STAHLWILLE accuracy guarantee expres n ths case.
