8 HEAD UNIT DRUM BRAKE SAF hub unit The SAF hub unit is a ompat unit of the hub and the bearing. It is fully fatory-adjusted and enapsulated. The SAF hub unit is maintenane-free. Spherial bearing The brake has spherial bearings, i.e. the brake pads have a very long servie life. 9 DRUM BRAKE WELL THOUGHT-OUT AND SOPHISTICATED MECHANICS What ounts is the quality: Regardless of whether you want to equip the SAF MODUL suspension system with a drum brake or dis brake what you always get is the safety of prime quality. Front am shaft-ompat bearing Rear am shaft-ompat bearing Cam shaft-ompat bearing As a pre-assembled unit with no individual parts and thanks to its ompat dimensions the am shaft-ompat bearing an be replaed easily and quikly at any time. The bearing omes with permanent orrosion protetion, merely requiring lubriation at regular intervals. You save on time, money and weight. SAF brake pads SAF brake pads are asymmetrially shaped by omputer modelling and are subjet to strit prodution ontrol on an ongoing basis. Speial material mixes and the unique form are onvining arguments in atual pratie due to their long servie life and best possible safety. 10 Spherial bearing The brake shoes on the SAF axle are mounted around a spherial head. Thanks to their unique geometry, the shoes an move in all diretions, distributing the fore more evenly aross the pads, whih therefore an be used muh longer. Replaing brake shoes in seonds For the SAF axle, all you need is a srewdriver and a steady hand thus replaing the brake shoes is ingeniously simple and done in a matter of seonds. 11 HEAD UNIT DISC BRAKE INTEGRAL advantage 1 Compared to a design with one-piee brake dis and losed wheel flange, now 100 % more heat-emitting surfae. INTEGRAL advantage 2 With 15 large radiator-like ventilation ross-setions in the wheel flange, the INTEGRAL ahieves at least 60 % more ventilation ross-setion ompared to a design with losed wheel flange depending on the size of the openings in the fitted wheels. For dis brakes with an 9-t axle load for Single ET 120 wheels, the SAF AirVent head unit with optimised dis brake tehnology is available at a great prie-performane ratio (axle versions B9-19 and B9-22).
