15 The UNITED ARAB SHIPPING COMPANY (UASC) case UASC is building 9 new 14,000-teu vessels at Samsung Heavy Industries in Suth Krea UASC s interest in Shipdex was t avid discrepancies between its nbard equipments and its dedicated manuals They requested Samsung t deliver dcumentatin t the vessels in the Shipdex prtcl as part f the cntract The first Shipdex datasets (supplied by MAN Diesel & Turb) have been intrduced t the engine-rm f UASC s MV Umm Salal vessel, the first ship nw in service Ultimately, UASC plans t use the experience frm the MV Umm Salal t spread the use f Shipdex acrss the cmpany fleet
