On 1/13/06 the City f Phenix had their grand pening festivities fr the new Phenix Rental Car Center. The fficial pening is this Thursday January 19. The attached dcument briefly describes the facility, shwing the traffic diagram fr getting t and frm the new facility. As there is never an easy way f describing driving instructins, the diagram keeps things relatively simple. One thing I wuld like t emphasize is there is n exit ramp fr 16 th Street n Interstate 17. The very best way t return t the new facility is t cnnect t Interstate if cming alng Interstate 17. Here are sme bullet-pints that may prve helpful t yu and yur travelers. There will be NO rental cunters at any f the three airprt terminals. Instead, all transactins will take place at the. Travelers will bard cmmn busing and be transprted t and frm the facility. Busing will be terminal specific --- meaning each f the three terminals will have buses ging t and frm each terminal. Keep in mind Phenix Sky Harbr Airprt has three terminals --- their numbers are 2, 3, and 4. There are three levels t the rental car garage. The rental cunters and main entrance are lcated just abve Level 3. Renters will need t take escalatrs t get t any f the three levels f the parking garage. Hwever, each level has its wn dedicated up and dwn escalatrs s n ne will need t transfer frm ne escalatr t anther. Natinal/Alam is n Level 2 and since the Natinal/Alam cunters are directly in the middle f the facility, the escalatrs t/frm the 2 nd level are just t the right f the cunters. Once ff the Level 2 escalatr and ut the sliding dr, ur renters will see the Emerald and Executive Aisles, alng with an Emerald Club bth. Natinal Emerald Club members will cntinue t bypass the cunter and will g straight dwn the escalatr t the 2 nd level. Nn-Emerald Club members will stp at the cunter first. Overall "ready" capacity will increase by at least 50-75% and the Emerald/Exec Aisles will be almst twice as large. With the exceptin f a few f the smaller peratrs, all rental cmpanies will have their prcessing/string facilities n premises. Ours will be lcated just east f the --- which will prvide easy access fr travelers t pickup and deliver cars. As the bus drps the renters and they enter the, right in frnt n the left side is Natinal/Alam...then a small cunter area fr lcal renters.
