12 Grease Interceptr Perfrmance Criteria ASME A ASME A cvers general requirements and perfrmance criteria fr grease interceptrs with rated flws up t 100gpm - Grease retentin capacity is determined when the average efficiency drps belw 90%, r the incremental efficiency drps belw 80% - The interceptr must retain n less than 2lbs f grease fr each gpm f rated flw (15gpm grease interceptr must hld at least 30lbs f grease) - Labeling requirements - Installatin/maintenance Instructins 12

16 rease nterceptr erfrmance riteria NSF SE Large Capacity Grease Interceptrs - Evaluates the capacity f grease interceptrs that have capacities abve the minimum requirements f ASME A Large Capacity grease interceptrs are defined as thse that have a capacity abve 200% f the minimum defined in ASME A Uses an accelerated test prtcl - The installatin parameters f Grease Interceptrs that are tested using this methd can be: - Type A External flw cntrl, air intake/vent directly cnnected - Type B External flw cntrl, withut air intake/vent, directly cnnected - Type C Units withut an external flw cntrl, directly cnnected - Type D Units withut an external flw cntrl, indirectly cnnected 16

17 rease nterceptr erfrmance riteria NSF SE Testing is in 2 phases - Phase 1: Minimum capacity is established using ASME A methd. - Phase 2: Increments are accelerated by adding lard directly thrugh the lid. Grease frm phase 1 is left inside the interceptr. Large Capacity Grease Interceptrs - The prcess f tp lading grease thrugh the lid and running a standard ASME increment is repeated fr 15 additinal increments r until the unit reaches breakthrugh, whichever cmes first. 17
