1 Release Ntes - Zebra ET55 Andrid L LifeGuard Update 08 Release fr WWAN GMS Cntents Descriptin Device Cmpatibility Cmpnent Cntents Installatin Requirements Installatin Instructins Dwnladable Sftware included in this Release Descriptin This release cntains the fllwing sftware package which is cmpatible with the ET55 Nn-GMS prduct. LifeGuard patches are cumulative and include all previus fixes that are part f earlier patch releases. Nte: The CFE Package ET55-L G-SEPOLICYv2 is needed if yu wuld like t use MX 7.0 features and devices are nt encrypted. SEPlicy needs t be installed befre installing CFE 07 r later. Hwever, if yu are nt installing n tp f CFE Update 07, then install ET55-L G- SEPOLICYv2 package first and then CFE Update 08. T cnfirm whether package ET55-L G-SEPOLICYv2 is installed, fllw belw cnditins, N Zebra Patch Versin string displayed, Check at Settings->Abut Device. Build Number is different. If LG-00-M1-SEPOLICYv2 is displayed fr the build number, then SEPOLICY patch is installed. Hence, Patch CFE-ET55-L-XX G can be installed. 1. CFE v8 Updates: CFE-ET55-L-XX G zip (GMS) 1. If it displays LG-00-M (GMS), the device has base build. 5 CFE sftware update prcedure fr ET55: 1. Cnnect the USB cable frm yur PC t the device and enable USB mass strage mde n the device. 2. On yur PC yu shuld see an internal and external USB mass strage drive (SD card) appears in the File Explre and cpy "CFE-ET55-L-XX G zip" files t any strage. 3. Press and hld n the device Pwer buttn, click n pwer ff and wait until the screen is turned OFF. 4. Press and hld pwer and Vl- buttn. 5. Keep hlding Vl- buttn and release pwer buttn. 6. Click n Vl+ r Vl- t navigate and press pwer buttn t select recvery mde. 7. Device shuld enter recvery mde. 8. if applying update via Sidelad Methd a. Use the Vlume + and t highlight, Apply update frm ADB and press the Pwer Key t select it b. With yur Cmmand Prmpt pen in the Hst machine, type adb sidelad cmmand and add a space and then drag and drp the CFE n t it and click enter. c. Yur PC screen will shw files being installed and a little blue hrizntal prgress bar n yur device will shw status and after abut 6 minutes it shuld be dne and yu shuld be back at the Andrid Recvery screen. d. Rebt system nw is highlighted. Press the Pwer Key t Rebt. 9. If applying update via SD card. a. Click n Vl+ r Vl- t navigate and select SD card r internal strage. Press pwer buttn t select it. b. Click n Vl+ r Vl- t navigate t the recvery update zip file. c. Click n pwer buttn t select and start the recvery update prcess. d. Device will autmatically rebt and will be ready t use. 10. There are tw ways t Check the Andrid Patch Level after installing the CFE package in the device, Shuld be Settings->Abut Device-> Zebra Patch Versin: 8 Run adb shell getprp r.device.patch.versin cmmand in ADB Shell. 11. After installed the CFE-ET55-L-XX G n the device, the OS build number wuld be LG-00-M1 (Settings->Abut Device->Build Number: LG-00-M1). 12.
