The followig alloys ad groups of alloys are curretly the most commo materials used for the costructio of packers ad related equipmet: Stadard, o corrosive service -Low alloy steels(e.g., 4140 or Chiese 42CrMo) with mechaical properties compatible with API P110 tubulars. This tool icorporates both a stiger seal ad mechaical settig fuctio. I additio, it has a built-i sap-latch, allowig the tool to be latched ito the cemet retaier with set-dow weight ad released with either upstrai or right-had rotatio. The sleeve-valve o the cemet retaier is i the ope positio while beig ru i the well. Whe the settig procedure is completed, the sleeve-valve may be closed by pickig up two iches at the tools or opeed by slackig off two iches. The saplatch feature allows the sleeve-valve to be shifted ope or closed while the tubig is still achored to the retaier. Normally the valve is ru ope so the tubig may fill.
