Oce the required flow is determied for a peumatic applicatio the lubricator ca be selected by usig the flow chart. To read the lubricator flow chart, first determie the ilet pressure that will be used. id the appropriate pressure curve o the graph. ach graph will cotai three pressure curves. If the required ilet pressure is ot o the graph, iterpolate a similar curve for the required pressure. Next, determie the acceptable pressure drop across the lubricator ad locate it o the vertical axis. id the itersectio poit of the acceptable pressure drop ad the ilet pressure curve. t this poit follow a vertical path dowward to view the flow i SM. If the flow is too low, select a larger port size or body size to give the required flow. If the flow is higher tha ecessary, select a smaller port size or body size to give the required flow. The rest of the air slightly deflects ad flows by the flapper (). The velocity of the air flowig through veturi sectio () creates a pressure drop at throat sectio (). This lower pressure allows oil to be forced from the reservoir through the pickup tube () past the check ball (), to the dome assembly where the rate of oil flow is cotrolled by meterig screw (). Rotatio of the meterig screw () i the couterclockwise directio icreases the oil flow rate; i the clockwise directio decreases the oil flow rate. Oil the flows through the clearace betwee the ier ad outer sight domes (G) where drops are formed ad drip ito the ozzle tube (H). Here it is the broke ito fie particles as it expads ito the low pressure veturi. rom there, the atomized oil flows through the precisio orifice (J). This actio causes the larger particles of oil to fall back ito the reservoir where it ca recirculate through the system. The remaiig mist of fie particles ( micro or smaller about % of which passed through the sight dome) is the carried through opeig (K) where it jois ad mixes with air that bypassed the flapper (). s air flow rate icreases, the flapper () deflects, allowig most of the ilet air to bypass the veturi sectio (). However, a proportio of the ilet air passes through the veturi, assurig that oil delivery icreases liearly with icreased air flow rate. This proportioig method is advatageous at low ilet flows because the veturi desig remais efficiet. The check ball () prevets reverse oil flow dow the pickup tube whe air flow stops.
