8 Presece Detectio Traditioally, spaces such as petrol statio forecourts remai lit all ight (ad ofte all day) eve whe occupacy is low. The Smart Exteral Micro-pod Sesor built ito each Caolux LED lumiaire allows the lumiaires to be switched off or dimmed dow to a low output level whe the area is uoccupied. As soo as the sesor detects movemet, the lumiaire will retur back to full output. Presece detectio parameters ca be adjusted usig a had-held ifra-red Smart Exteral Programmer (see pages 14-15). 10 Motiolie Scearios (Platforms 2 & 3) Master Motiolie Motiolie 1 Motiolie 2 The Smart Exteral system ca operate at three differet levels (platforms) offerig icreasig fuctioality. PLATFORM 1 : STAND-ALONE The simplest level. Each lumiaire operates as a stad-aloe item. PLATFORM 2 : MOTIONLINE LINKED Groups of lumiaires are liked with a two-core bus, called the Motiolie, allowig each lumiaire to pass presece detectio to all lumiaires withi the group (see diagram above). PLATFORM 3 : TIME AND WEB BASED CONTROL Offers time schedule cotrol, so that lumiaires may be switched off whe ot eeded (ca be remotely cofigured through a secure web-site). It also allows local cofiguratio ad maual override (Smart Exteral Cotroller required). 10

12 Smart Booster The additio of a Smart Exteral Booster allows other lightig such as sigage ad LED feature lightig to be switched from the caopy Smart lumiaire s PIR detector (PLATFORM 2 & 3) ad via time cotrol (PLATFORM 3). The Smart Exteral Booster also allows up to 4 motiolie groups to commuicate with each other (see diagram o page 13). APPROX. DESCRIPTION CAT. 16 Programmable Features Oe of the key beefits of the Smart Exteral system is the ability to program every lumiaire differetly. Each lumiaire ca be tailored to suit its ow very specific local requiremets. The mai programmable features are: Mi lamp - The miimum dim level of the lamps ca beset. Factory settig 10%. Max lamp - The maximum lamp level ca be set to tue the levels to local coditios. Factory settig 100%. Lights o settig - Completely variable. Factory settig approximately 200lux. Security level (see also Security delay) - Ca be set aywhere betwee miimum ad maximum. Factory settig 30%. PIR sesitivity - May be adjusted to suit coditios. No presece delay - After a variable delay (30 secods to 10 hours) the lumiaires tur off or go to the Security Level. Factory settig - 5 miutes 30% cotiuous security level. Security delay - This allows a iterim delay (30 secods to 10 hours, or cotiuous) at Security level. For example, all lumiaires aroud the forecourt may be set to switch off except for etrace/exit areas which will reduce to 50%, for a further 3 hours (assumig o presece detected) or whilst the forecourt is ope. Alteratively as a security feature, perhaps 1 i 5 lights may be kept o cotiuously at ay chose level ad oly icrease to full brilliace whe a perso or car eters the forecourt or space. APPROX.
