4 Certificatins BTL MARK BACNET TESTING LABORATORY The BTL Mark n PrtNde RER is a symbl that indicates that a prduct has passed a series f rigrus tests cnducted by an independent labratry which verifies that the prduct crrectly implements the BACnet features claimed in the listing. The mark is a symbl f a high-quality BACnet prduct. G t fr mre infrmatin abut the BACnet Testing Labratry. Click here fr BACnet PIC Statement. LONMARK CERTIFICATION LnMark Internatinal is the recgnized authrity fr certificatin, educatin, and prmtin f interperability standards fr the benefit f manufacturers, integratrs and end users. LnMark Internatinal has develped extensive prduct certificatin standards and tests t prvide the integratr and user with cnfidence that prducts frm multiple manufacturers utilizing LnMark devices wrk tgether. FieldServer Technlgies has mre LnMark Certified gateways than any ther gateway manufacturer, including the PrtCessr, PrtCarrier and PrtNde fr OEM applicatins and the full featured, cnfigurable gateways. 7 1 INTRODUCTION 1.1 PrtNde Gateway PrtNde is an external, high perfrmance Building Autmatin multi-prtcl gateway that has been preprgrammed fr Lchinvar s prducts (hereafter called device ) t varius building autmatin prtcls. These prtcls include BACnet 1 MS/TP, BACnet/IP, Metasys 2 N2 by JCI, Mdbus TCP/IP, and LnWrks 3. Cnfiguratins fr the varius prtcls are stred within the PrtNde and are selectable via DIP switches fr fast and easy installatin. It is nt necessary t dwnlad any cnfiguratin files t supprt the required applicatins. The PrtNde is pre-laded with tested Prfiles/Cnfiguratins fr the supprted devices. 1 BACnet is a registered trademark f ASHRAE 2 Metasys is a registered trademark f Jhnsn Cntrls Inc. 4 LnWrks is a registered trademark f Echeln Crpratin Page 7 f 49

This number shuld be recrded, as it may be required fr technical supprt. The numbers are as fllws: Mdel Part Number PrtNde FPC-N34 FPC-N PrtNde FPC-N35 FPC-N Figure 1: PrtCessr Part Numbers FPC-N34 units have the fllwing 3 prts: RS Ethernet + RS-485. Set the BACnet MS/TP MAC addresses f the PrtNde t a value between 1 t 127 (MAC Master Addresses); this is s that the BMS Frnt End can find the PrtNde via BACnet aut discvery. Nte: Never set a BACnet MS/TP MAC Address frm 128 t 255. Addresses frm 128 t 255 are Slave Addresses and can nt be discvered by BMS Frnt Ends that supprt aut discvery f BACnet MS/TP devices. Set DIP switches A0 A7 t assign MAC Address fr BACnet MS/TP fr the PrtNde FPC-N34. Please refer t Appendix D.1 fr the cmplete range f MAC Addresses and DIP switch settings. 12 2.3.3 BACnet MS/TP and BACnet/IP (FPC-N34): Setting the Device Instance The A Bank f DIP switches are used fr tw purpses: Fr BACnet MS/TP, they are used t set the BACnet MS/TP MAC address. (Sectin 2.3.2) Fr bth BACnet MS/TP and BACnet/IP, they are als used t determine the BACnet Device Instance values. The BACnet Device Instance can range frm 1 t 4,194,303. The BACnet device instances will be calculated by taking the Nde_Offset (default is 50,000) fund in Web Cnfiguratr (Sectin ) and adding it t the value f the A Bank DIP switches. When mre than ne device is cnnected t the PrtNde, the subsequent BACnet Device Instance values will be sequential frm the first/previus device. Fr example: Given that: Device Instance = Nde_Offset + A Bank DIP switch value Default Nde_Offset value = 50,000 A Bank DIP switch value = 11 Then the Device Instance values fr the devices are: Device 1 Instance = 50,011 Device 2 Instance will then be 50,011(Device Instance 1) +1 = 50,012 Device 3 Instance will then be 50,012 (previus Device Instance) +1 = 50, BACnet MS/TP r BACnet/IP: Assigning Specific Device Instances With the default Nde_Offset value f 50,000 the Device Instances values generated will be within the range f 50,001 t 50,127. The values allwed fr a BACnet Device Instance can range frm 1 t 4,194,303. T assign a specific Device Instance (r range), change the Nde_Offset value. Methds fr changing the Nde_Offset value are prvided in Sectin 4.2 This step cannt be perfrmed until after the unit is cnnected and pwered Metasys N2 r Mdbus TCP/IP (FPC-N34): Setting the Nde-ID Set DIP switches A0 A7 t assign a Nde-ID fr Metasys N2 r Mdbus TCP/IP t the PrtNde FPC-N34.
