Check accessible areas for obvious damage ad evidece of fuel or oil leakage. 2 Ispect all B uts for applicatio ad aligmet of torque pait. If missig, loose B ut, retighte, ad apply torque pait. 3 Check moutig ad support bolts to be sure they are tight, lockwired ad i good coditio. Check security of screws ad rivets. Remove all foreig material which might be draw ito the compressor ilet. 4 Check accessible fuel system compoets, lies, ad coectios for security, damage or leakage. If cracks are detected, remove assembly ad comply with CEB--A Remove the Scroll--to--P c Filter Tube Assembly at both eds ad ispect for cracks usig 10x power glass. Pay particular attetio to the flared eds of the tube for cracks, ad to the areas beeath the floatig ferrules for frettig damage. Tubes--foud to cotai cracks ad/or excessive frettig damage are to be replaced by ew parts of the same part umber as removed. Excessive frettig is preset whe the ferrule has chafed the tube sufficietly to wear a step i the tube that ca be felt with a thumbail or other ispectio aid. 8 With the Scroll--to--P c Tube Assembly still removed ad usig a 10x power glass, ispect the elbow i the compressor scroll for distress/cracks/proper aligmet. No cracks are permissible. 9 Check fuel cotrol ad power turbie goveror likage for freedom of operatio, full travel ad proper riggig. Check security of likage for loose or wor likage ad likage bolts. 10 Ispect compressor ilet guide vaes ad visible blades ad vaes for foreig object damage. 11 Clea compressor with chemical wash solutio as required if operatig i a smoggy area, coditios with airbor pollutats or with water alcohol. 12 Visually ispect the water--alcohol ozzles for build--up of cotamiats which could restrict flow or alter the spray patter. Ultrasoic clea ozzles if equipmet is available. 13 Clea the 200 mesh scree (if equipped with water--alcohol ijectio kit). If cracks or breaks are detected, check egie for possible vibratio causes. 15 Ispect for discharge air tube iserts that are cocked or backig out of the scroll. If cocked or loose iserts are detected, check egie for possible vibratio causes. 16 Visually check the compressor discharge air tubes for damage or deterioratio. 17 Check ati--ice valve for security, wor parts ad proper operatio. Check egie for possible vibratio causes. 19 Ispect the turbie support assemblies ad egie exhaust ducts for coditio of welded joits, for cracks ad bucklig. Check exhaust duct clamps for proper istallatio, coditio ad torque. 20 Wet splie starter--geerator gearshafts, ew productio or those replaced i accordace with the Rolls--Royce Commercial Egie Bulleti M250--C20 CEB--1082, do ot eed periodic ispectio ad lubricatio. Clea ad ispect ay other starter-- geerator gearshaft. Clea the female splies of the starter--geerator gearshafts ad the male splies of the starter--geerator with mieral spirits ad a soft brush. Ispect splies. Refer to Starter--geerator Gearshaft Female Splie Ispectio paragraph. Ispect the starter--geerator brushes for wear i accordace with the Aircraft Maual at the same time the splie ispectio is made. Lubricate acceptable splies with grease, Aeroshell No. 22, or equivalet. Before reistallatio of the starter--geerator, make sure torsioal damper members of the starter--geerator driveshaft are i hard cotact with each other. This limit ca be exteded if a wet splie starter geerator is istalled i accordace with the Rolls--Royce Commercial Egie Bulleti M250--C20 CEB--1082, ad the followig coditios are met. A. If a exteral scavege oil filter system is istalled the oil chage iterval ca be icreased to 200 hours or 6 moths, whichever occurs first. B. With a approved HTS (Third Geeratio Oil), but o exteral scavege oil filter system; the oil chage iterval ca be icreased to 300 hours or 12 moths, whichever occurs first. C. With a approved HTS (Third Geeratio Oil), ad a exteral scavege oil filter system is istalled, the oil chage iterval ca be icreased to 600 hours or 12 moths, whichever occurs first. CAUTION:SOME OPERATORS EXPERIENCE AND/ OR HARSH ENVIRONMENTS CAN DICTATE OIL CHANGES AT MORE FREQUENT INTERVALS. Exteral scavege oil filter systems must have a valid STC (Supplemetal Type Certificate). 21A Remove, ispect, ad clea the oil filter. Note ay accumulatio of metal chips, debris, or carbo particles. Coduct further ispectio of the lube system ad/or egie gear trai/bearigs if metal chips or debris are foud. See s 21, 21D, 38, 39, ad 40 below if carbo particles are foud. PARA 1.C., Follow the Supplemetal Type Certificate (STC) maufacturer s recommedatios regardig the replacemet/cleaig of the exteral oil filter elemets. Ispect the removed elemets for ay accumulatios of metal chips, debris, or carbo particles. It ca prove helpful to cut apart disposable (paper) filter elemets to facilitate this ispectio. PARA 11.G., , Egie-- Servicig 21F 21G Ispect quick discoect magetic chip detector plugs ad flaged iserts for wear, if istalled. Remove, ispect ad clea the fuel ozzle. If o airframe mouted fuel filter is istalled, ispect the fuel ozzle filter. PARA 11.G., , Egie-- Servicig Operators ca fid it ecessary to ispect ad clea the fuel ozzle more ofte depedig o past experiece or operatig coditios. 22 If istalled, ispect the start couter for proper PARA 1., operatio, icrease i cout, ad for loose, chafed, frayed, or broke wires, ad loose coectors. 23 Check the coditio of the bleed valve gasket, without removig bleed valve. Replace gasket if air leaks (blowouts) ca be detected. 24 Visually ispect the outer combustio case (sheet metal ad weld seams) for cracks. Pay particular attetio to the weld seams i the area of the igiter plugs, dummy plug, drai valves, fuel ozzle bosses, armpit braze patch ad adjacet areas. Use a bright light ad mirror as ecessary. The OCC does ot have to be removed. Perform a Leak Tec check for istalled OCC s ad a FPI for removed OCC s. PARA 2.B.(1), (2), (3) ad (4), Clea the burer drai valve. PARA 3., Page 609 Ju 1/17

THE OPERATING ENVIRONMENT CAN DICTATE A MORE FREQUENT INSPECTION INTERVAL.WHEN OPERATING IN A CORROSIVE AND/OR EROSIVE ENVIRONMENT FOR NON--COATED COMPRESSOR WHEELS, THE INSPECTION MUST NOT EXCEED 300 HOURS OR 6 MONTHS. FOR COATED COMPRESSOR WHEELS, INSPECTION MUST NOT EXCEED 300 HOURS OR 12 MONTHS. FOR COMPRESSOR BLISKS, INSPECTION MUST NOT EXCEED 300 HOURS OR 12 MONTHS. IF ANY WHEEL EXHIBITS CORROSION AND/OR EROSION, THE INSPECTION REQUIREMENT MUST REVERT BACK TO 300 HOURS OR 6 MONTHS. 33 Ispect the compressor case, blades, ad vaes whe operatig i a erosive ad/or corrosive eviromet. 10X power magificatio is recommeded for corrosio pit ispectio. CAUTION: PARA 1.D.(9), this sectio ad PARA 5.C, AIRCRAFT INSTALLED--ENGINE FUEL--PUMP FILTER DIFFERENTIAL PRESSURE WARNING SYSTEMS AND/OR OPERATING EXPERIENCE CAN DICTATE REPLACEMENT AT A LESSER TIME INTERVAL. IN NO INSTANCE CAN THE 300 HR REPLACEMENT INTERVAL BE EXCEEDED. 34 Replace the fuel filter elemet. This filter is a throw--away item. It is ot cleaable. Before discardig filter, ispect for sigs of cotamiats. If ay are foud, ispect the etire fuel system ad clea if ecessary. CAUTION: PARA 2.C., WHEN THERE IS EVIDENCE THAT THE FUEL PUMP FILTER HAS BEEN BYPASSED, THE GAS PRODUCER FUEL CONTROL INLET FILTER, THE FUEL NOZZLE FILTER, THE GOVERNOR FILTER AND THE HIGH PRESSURE FUEL FILTER, IF APPLICABLE, MUST BE CLEANED. (REFER TO SPECIAL INSPECTIONS, , TABLE 604) IF ANY CONTAMINATION IS FOUND IN THE FUEL NOZZLE FILTER, THIS WILL REQUIRE THAT THE FUEL CONTROL BE SENT TO AN AUTHORIZED REPAIR FACILITY FOR INTERNAL CLEANING. REFERENCE MUST ALSO BE MADE TO THE AIRFRAME MAINTENANCE MANUAL FOR FUEL SYSTEM MAINTENANCE FOLLOWING FUEL CONTAMINATION. CAUTION: PURGE AIR FROM THE FUEL SYSTEM. 35 Do a fuel pump bypass valve operatio check whe a fuel filter is replaced. Applicable to Sudstrad/Pesco ad Argo-- Tech/TRW maufactured pumps oly. 36 Remove, clea ad ispect egie P c filter every 300 hours or earlier as egie performace dictates. 37 Ispect ad clea the No. 1 bearig oil pressure reducer. Rolls--Royce M250 CSL 1164) for aircraft equipped with this type of exteral scavege filter system. Follow the Facet istructios ad time itervals, or follow this recommeded ispectio iterval each 600 hours. 45 Replace the fuel cotrol filter assembly. It is the resposibility of the operator to assure that the total time ad cycle life limits of specific parts listed i Sectio , Airworthiess Limitatios, are ot exceeded. As Required Ispectio 51 Clea the bleed valve after each 10 hr of water--alcohol augmetatio operatio or after cosumptio of each 750 gallos (2840 liters) of water--alcohol mixture. 11 C. Alterate Ispectio Schedule Based o curret egie cofiguratio ad the use of moder oils, operators ca use this alterate ispectio schedule. Prerequisites for this iclude: (1) The use of a wet splie starter/geerator drive shaft (ew productio or those replaced i accordace with the Rolls--Royce Commercial Egie Bulleti M250--C20 CEB--1082). (2) The use of High Thermal Stability (third geeratio) oils. Referece PARA 4.C., , Egie--Descriptio ad Operatio, for oil specificatios ad mixig cautios. (3) The egie must have a exteral oil filter istalled that has a valid STC (Supplemetal Type Certificate). Ultrasoic clea the ozzles if equipmet is available. 13 Clea the 200 mesh scree (if equipped with water--alcohol ijectio kit). 14 Ispect the compressor scroll for cracks or breaks at the ati--ice air valve ad customer bleed port. If cracks or breaks are detected, check the egie for possible vibratio causes. 15 Check the ati--ice valve for security, wor parts, ad proper operatio. The ati--ice valve eed ot be removed or disassembled uless a problem is detected. 16 Ispect the compressor mout iserts, bolts ad uts for looseess, frettig, or oil leakage.
