3 PERIODIC MAINTENANCE Your door will eed regular ispectio, lubricatio ad cleaig. The followig checklists will help keep your door ad its parts i good workig order ad help protect it from the elemets.! WARNING! A sectioal garage door is a large, heavy object that moves with the help of sprigs uder high tesio. Sprigs, bottom brackets, cables ad associated hardware are uder high tesio ad ca cause death, serious ijuries or damage to the door if ot properly hadled. For your safety ad the safety of others, follow these istructios: DO NOT loose or remove bottom bracket with the sprig tesio egaged. DO NOT operate door with a broke sprig. DO NOT maually operate door if hadles are ot istalled or fuctioig properly. DO NOT operate door if it is too difficult to move, opes too quickly or the rollers come out of the track. DO NOT operate the door if glass or iterior widow retaier appears to be loose, cracked or warped. DO NOT remove screws o iside retaier. For assistace with these maiteace steps, repair or replacemet of ay parts, please cotact your professioal istallig Clopay Dealer: VISUAL INSPECTION CHECKLIST Mothly ispectio of the door ad all of its compoets is recommeded. If somethig seems out of balace or adjustmet, or you ote ay of the followig, please cotact your Clopay Dealer or Clopay Cosumer Services at Visually ispect the door whe i the dow positio for: Loose or bet higes. Broke wheels, bet shafts or wor out bearigs o rollers. Loose or missig bolts, screws or other fasteers o the door or track. Creases or beds i the track. Crackig or fatigue of the door paels. Damaged or broke sprigs or sprig compoets. If the sprig looks broke it will eed replaced. Stadard extesio sprigs that ru alogside the door should iclude a safety cotaimet cable. For a visual of the safety cotaimet cable, sca the QR code above. Wor or frayed cables. Loose, cracked, or warped glass paels or iside glass retaiers. Iside the door, the plastic retaier holdig the glass ad its fasteers should appear secure. Tears or gaps i the bottom weather seal or perimeter seal. 4 INSPECTING WINDOW AND/OR ALUMINUM PANELS We recommed that you ispect your widow ad/or alumium paels every twelve moths, at a miimum.! WARNING! If glass or retaiers appear to be or feel loose, warped, cracked, broke, shruke or misshaped, immediately discotiue use of the door. Failure to do so may result i glass fallig out of the pael, causig property damage, serious ijury or death. Cotact your Clopay dealer or Clopay Cosumer Services at for assistace. Ispect the widow ad alumium paels. 1. With the door closed ad locked, discoect the garage door opeer. 2. From iside ad outside the garage, visually ispect all paels to esure they are ot loose, cracked or warped. 3. From iside the garage, visually ispect the edge of each pael retaier for ay shrikage, looseig, crackig, warpig or misshapig. Proper retaiers should ot show ay gaps i the corer(s) of the widow areas ad should appear flat, straight ad flush with the widow/alumium pael. 4. Physically ispect the retaiers by pressig the ceter of each retaier. You should feel little to o movemet ad ot be able to compress the retaier more tha 1/8". DOOR OPERATION CHECKLIST We recommed that at least twice per year after you have visually ispected the door ad all of its compoets. Check the balace of the door. 1. With the door i the dow positio, detach the opeer (if applicable) by pullig dow o the red maual release hadle. 2. Next lift the door maually up to the halfway poit ad getly release the door. A balaced door should hag i place ad ot raise or lower. If the door does ot stay i place cotact your Clopay Dealer for adjustmet. Check the door operatio. For a how-to video to ispect the door visit: Oce you have determied your door is i balace, lift the door up ad dow to esure smooth operatio. The door should be easily cotrolled whe liftig ad lowerig. NOTE: Be sure to reattach the opeer oce you cofirm the door is operatig properly. Safety feature for doors with automatic operators. 1. Make sure that the operator has a workig safety feature. Photo eyes should be mouted to the left ad right sides of the bottom of the door opeig. 2. Make sure ay door locks are disabled or removed if the door has a automatic operator. 3. 5 LUBRICATE THE DOOR At least twice per year lubricate all movig parts of the door with Clopay Garage Door Pro Lube or a sythetic lubricat: Lift cables at bottom bracket butto Lock hardware where surfaces tur or slide Full legth of torsio sprig to reduce frictio betwee coils Rollers at the bearig (but ot the tire) Higes CLEANING AND PRESERVING THE DOOR Doors must be cleaed at least twice a year or four times a year for harsh eviromets (such as coastal regios, high road salts, etc.). Helps prevet damage caused by foreig matter or salt adherig to the door. Assists to restore the look of factory-applied fiish by removig dirt ad chalkig. CLEANING THE DOOR Workig from top to bottom of the door sectios, use a well soaked cloth, spoge or soft bristle brush. A household liquid dishwashig deterget may be used to clea more soiled areas. A fie scourig pad may be used for heavy surface soils. Be sure to scrub with the directio of the metal grai ad do ot apply too much pressure. DO NOT use scourig powders or solvets, alkalie or acid cleaers. Avoid cleaig i the hot su. Rise door with clea water to complete cleaig ad allow to dry. NOTE: Be sure to clea behid stop moldig o the sides ad top of the door. REPAIRING OR PAINTING THE DOOR Surface damage ca be easily repaired providig the damage is slight; such as a small scratch or rub mark. REPAIRING OR PAINTING ANODIZED ALUMINUM FINISH DOOR Rub marks ca be removed with a mild abrasive pad such as the Scotch-Brite pad prior to touchup paitig. NOTE: DO NOT sad the aodized material whe touchig up. Clea the area to be touched up with deatured alcohol to remove moisture. Apply the provided touch-up pait very sparigly as this is iteded for small blemishes less tha a few square iches. Cotiued o ext page

REPAIRING OR PAINTING PAINTED ALUMINUM FINISH DOOR Mior damage to the paited surface should be saded prior to applicatio of the touch-up pait. Clea the area to be touched up with deatured alcohol to remove moisture. Apply the provided touch-up pait very sparigly as this is iteded for small blemishes less tha a few square iches. NOTE: For more severe damage or repaitig we recommed cotactig a professioal who specializes i the refiishig of architectural metals. WINDOW CARE Clea with a mild solutio of a dishwashig deterget ad a soft cloth. DO NOT use ay ammoiated, abrasive or solvet-based cleaers of ay kid. For Acrylic or Polycarboate Widows: These widows CAN ONLY be washed usig a clea, soft spoge or cloth with a mild dish soap ad lukewarm water. Dry with soft cloth or chamois to prevet spottig. DO NOT use ay ammoiated, abrasive or solvet-based cleaers of ay kid. DO NOT brush, scrub or scrape these widows. After cleaig, rise thoroughly.! CAUTION! Use care whe hadlig decorative widows to avoid scrapig or scratchig the surface. GLASS REPLACEMENT! WARNING! DO NOT try to replace the glass yourself. If glass should eed replacemet, cotact a authorized professioal dealer. AUTOMATIC GARAGE DOOR OPENERS If you are istallig a automatic garage door opeer, istallatio of a reiforced moutig poit is required. To avoid damage to your door, you must reiforce the top sectio of the door i order to provide a moutig poit for the garage door opeer to be attached. DO NOT use the bracket that came with your opeer or attach it directly to the door. Failure to reiforce the door as required may result i loss of warraty coverage. 7 LIMITED WARRANTY ALUMINUM GARAGE DOORS Subject to the terms of this Limited Warraty ( Warraty ) ad ay warraty policies ad procedures i effect at the time a otice of a claim is received, Clopay Buildig Products ( Clopay, we, or our ) will repair or replace (at our sole discretio) ay garage door sectios/sectio compoets, hardware, or sprigs/sprig compoets (collectively, Replacemet Parts ) that we determie to be defective i material or workmaship so log as timely writte otice is provided withi the applicable limited warraty periods provided below. This Warraty shall apply ad beefit oly the origial purchase of a Clopay garage door product ad is o-trasferable, ad does ot apply to decorative hardware or to ay commercial, idustrial or other o-residetial applicatio/istallatio. The warraty period begis from the date of delivery or istallatio, up to a maximum of oe (1) year from the date of purchase. Proof of purchase is required. Oce we have verified ay defect(s) with your product through persos authorized by Clopay, we will provide at o cost to you Replacemet Parts to the extet ecessary to repair or replace ay such defective sectios, hardware, or sprigs/sprig compoets. We reserve the right to ispect ad/ or verify ay claimed defect, as well as the right to replace product(s) with a similar or like product, all withi the sole discretio of Clopay. All labor costs associated with ay warraty claim (icludig removal, reistallatio, istallatio, ad/or fiishig) will be your resposibility. We warrat our rust prevetio system agaist rust through for perforatio(s) caused by corrosio origiatig at the steel layer. Failure to properly clea ad maitai your door (particularly i, but ot limited to, high-salt or acidic eviromets) or damage to the door such as scratchig, may result i surface rust, a coatig that forms o the surface whe exposed to moisture, which if left utreated may result i loss of warraty coverage. For purposes of this Warraty, mior scratches will ot be cosidered a defect.
