Adjustable nozzle allows you to adjust force of spray and spray pattern. Ar Cleaner -- Dry type flter element lmts the amount of drt and dust that gets n the engne. Recol Starter -- Used for startng the engne manually. Spray Gun -- Controls the applcaton of water onto cleanng surface wth trgger devce, ncludes safety latch. Throttle Lever -- Sets engne n startng mode for recol starter and stops a runnng engne. Water nlet -- Connecton for garden hose.

5 SNAPPER Sfratto. MPORTANT: Read entre owner's manual before you attempt to assemble or operate your new pressure washer. REMOVE PRESSURE WASHER FROM CARTON Remove the parts bag ncluded wth pressure washer. Slce two corners at the end of carton from top to bottom so the panel can be folded down flat, then remove all packng materal. Remove pressure washer from carton. Rase gude handle, secure n place (Fgure ). PREPARNG PRESSURE WASHER FOR USE To prepare your pressure washer for operaton, you w[ need to perform these tasks: F[ out and send n regstraton card. Add ol to the engne crankcase. Add fuel to the fuel tank. Connect the hgh pressure hose to the spray gun and the pump. Connect the water supply to the pump. Attach nozzle extenson to spray gun. Add Engne Ol MPORTANT: Any attempt to crank or start the engne before t has been properly servced wth the recommended ol may result n an engne falure. Place pressure washer on a level surface. Refer to engne owners manual to add recommended ol to engne. NOTE: Check Ol Often Durng Engne Break=no caps nto Carton Contents Check all contents. f any parts are mssng or damaged, contact the local Snapper servce center. Add A Gasolne WARNNG! Never fll fuel tank ndoors. Never fll fuel tank when engne s runnng or hot.allow to cool for two mnutes before refuelng. Do Not lght a cgarette or smoke when fllng the fuel tank. _t WARNNG! Do Not overfll the fuel tank. Always allow room for fuel expanson. Use regular UNLEADED gasolne wth the pressure washer engne. Do Not use premum gasolne. Do Not mx ol wth gasolne. Clean area around fuel fll cap, remove cap. Slowly add "UNLEADED" regular gasolne to fuel tank. Use a funnel to prevent spllage. Slowly fll tan[< to about 1.5" below the bottom of the fller neck (Fgure ). nstal[ fuel cap and wpe up any splled gasolne. unt

6 S PER _ Stratf_n" powfrproduc_ 8... _NNN_Nr_ "_-- FuLr---_r MPORTANT: t s mportant to prevent gum deposts from formng n essental fuel system parts, such as the carburetor, fuel flter, fuel hose or tank durng storage.also, experence ndcates that alcohol-blended fuels (called gasohol, ethanol or methanol) can attract mosture, whch leads to separaton and formaton of acds durng storage. Acdc gas can damage the fuel system of an engne whle n storage. To avod engne problems, the fuel system should be empted before storage of 30 days or longer. See "Storage" on page 1. Never use engne or carburetor cleaner products n the fuel tank or permanent damage may occur. + Before you connect your garden hose to the water nlet, nspect the nlet screen (Fgure 5). Clean the screen f t contans debrs or have t replaced f damaged. DO NOT RUN THE PRESSURE WASHER FTHE SCREEN S DAMAGED. nspect nlet screen, Do Not use f damaged; clean f drty. Connect Hose and Water Supply to Pump MPORTANT: You must assemble the nozzle extenson to the spray gun and attach all hoses before you start the engne. Startng engne wthout all hoses connected and water suppled wll damage the pump. + Uncol the hgh pressure hose and attach one end of the hose to the base of the spray gun (Fgure 3).Tghten by hand. + Attach the other end of the hgh pressure hose to the Connect hgh pressure hose here hgh pressure outlet on the pump (Fgure 4).Tghten by hand. Run water through your garden hose for 30 seconds to clean out any debrs. MPORTANT: Do Not sphon standng water for the water supply. Use ONLY cold water (less than O0 F). + Connect the garden hose to the water nlet.tghten by hand (Fgure 5). CAUTON! There MUST be at least ten feet of unrestrcted garden hose between the pressure washer nlet and any flow shut off devce, such as a 'Y' shut-off connector or other convenence-type water shut-off valve. Damage to pressure washer resultng from dsregardng ths warnng wll not be covered by the warranty. * Turn ON the water and squeeze the trgger on the gun to purge the pump system of ar and mpurtes. _b AUTON! Before startng the pressure washer, be sure you are wearng adequate eye protecton.

7 SA PPER $fratto. CHECKLST STARTNG BEFORE ENGNE Attach the adjustable nozzle extenson to the spray gun (Fgure 6).Tghten by hand. Revew the unt's assembly to ensure you have performed all of the followng. Check that ol has been added to the proper level n the engne crankcase. Add the proper gasolne to fuel tank. Check for properly tghtened hose connectons (hgh pressure and water supply) and that there are no knks, cuts, or damage to the hgh pressure hose. Provde a proper water supply at an adequate flow. Be sure to read "Safety Rules" and "How To UseYour Pressure Washer" before usng the pressure washer. HOW TO USE YOUR PRESSURE WASHER Poston the nozzle n the low pressure mode (see "How to Use the Adjustable Nozzle") and squeeze the trgger on the spray gun to releve the ar pressure caused by turnng ON the water.water w flow out of the spray gun n a thn stream. Contnue to hold trgger untl there s a steady stream of water and no ar remans n the system.ths w make t easer to pu start the engne. Release the trgger. Engage the safety latch to the spray gun trgger (Fgure 7). f you have any problems operatng your pressure washer, please contact the local Snapper servce center. How to StartYour Pressure Washer Safety Latch To start your pressure washer for the frst tme, follow these nstructons step-by-step.ths startng nformaton also apples f you have let the pressure washer st dle for at least a day. Rotate the choke knob to the"cholce" poston (Fgure 8). Place the pressure washer n an area close enough to an outsde water source capable of supplyng water at a flow rate greater than.8 gallons per mnute. Check that the hgh pressure hose s tghtly connected to the spray gun and to the pump. See "Preparng Pressure Washer for Use" for llustratons. Make sure unt s n a level poston. Connect the garden hose to the water nlet on the pressure washer pump. Turn ON the water. CAUTON! Do Not run the pump wthout the water supply connected and turned on.you must follow ths cauton or the pump wll be damaged. NOTE: For a warm engne, be sure the choke knob s n the "Run" poston. Move the throttle lever to "Fast" poston, shown on unt as a rabbt (Fgure 9). Squeeze the trgger on the spray gun untl you have a steady stream of water.ths purges the pump of ar and mpurtes.

8 S PPER _ Stratf_n" powe_produc_ Grasp the starter grp handle and pull slowly untl you feel some resstance.then pull rapdly to start the engne. Return the starter grp handle slowly. Do Not let rope "snap back" aganst starter. Slowly rotate choke [<nob to the "Run" poston as engne warms and runs smoothly. Slde nozzle backward for Hgh Pressure Mode Slde nozzle forward for low pressure mode and detergent applcaton Pont the nozzle down towards a frm surface and press the trgger to test the pattern (Fgure l ). NOTE: Always keep the throttle lever n the "Fast" poston when operatng the pressure washer. f the engne fals to start, revew nstructons gven n the engne owner's manual. -low to Stop Your Pressure Washer Move the throttle lever to the "Slow" poston (ndcated on the engne as a turtle). Let the engne dle for two mnutes. Move the throttle lever to the "Stop" poston (fully to the rght as you face the lever). Squeeze trgger on the spray gun to releve pressure n the hose. Twstng the nozzle adjusts the spray pattern from a narrow pattern to a fan pattern (Fgure 1). NOTE: A small amount of water wll squrt out when you release the pressure. How to Use the Adjustable Nozzle You now should know how to START your pressure washer and how to STOP t.the nformaton n ths secton wll tell you how to adjust the spray pattern and to apply detergent or other cleanng chemcals. _llk ARNNG! Never adjust spray pattern when sprayng. Never put hands n front of nozzle to adjust spray pattern. Slde the nozzle forward when you wsh to adjust the spray to low pressure mode (Fgure 0). Slde the nozzle backward to acheve hgh pressure. Rotate nozzle Rotate nozzle clockwse counterclockwse for fan for narrow spray pattern spray pattern For most effectve cleanng, keep spray nozzle between 8 to 4 nches away from cleanng surface. f you get the spray nozzle too close, especally usng hgh pressure mode, you may damage the surface beng cleaned. Do Not get closer than 8 nches when cleanng tres.

9 S lpper _ $fratto. _WER P_OD_ How to Use the Turbo Nozzle The turbo nozzle rotates the hgh pressure stream n a rapd crcular pattern.the hgh pressure spray s most effectve when the tp of the nozzle extenson s held between 8 to 4 nches from the surface beng cleaned. Always start the turbo nozzle at a dstance, gradually gettng closer to the surface untl you get the cleanng force you want. _ WARNNG! The turbo nozzle produces an extremely hgh pressure spray whch s capable of removng pant and cuttng holes through surfaces f held too close.always make sure the surface you wll dean wll not be damaged by the hgh pressure spray by testng n a hdden area. NOTE: You cannot apply detergent wth the turbo nozzle. Applyng Detergent wth the Adjustable Nozzle MPORTANT: Use soaps desgned specfcally for pressure washers. Household detergents could damage the pump. CAUTON! You must attach all hoses before you start the engne. Startng the engne wthout all the hoses connected and wthout the water turned ON wll damage the pump. To apply detergent, follow these steps: Revew the use of adjustable nozzles. Prepare the detergent soluton as requred by the job. Place the flter end of the detergent sphonng tube nto the detergent contaner. CAUTON! Keep the detergent sphonng tube from comng n contact wth the hot muffler. Slde the adjustable nozzle forward to low pressure mode. Detergent cannot be appled wth the nozzle n hgh pressure poston. Make sure the garden hose s connected to the water nlet. Check that the hgh pressure hose s connected to the spray gun and the pump. Start the engne. Apply the detergent to a dry surface, startng at lower porton of area to be washed and work upward, usng long, even, overlappng strokes. Allow the detergent to "soak n" for 3-5 mnutes before washng and rnsng. Reapply as needed to prevent surface from dryng. Do Not allow the detergent to dry on (prevents streakng). MPORTANT: You must flush the chemcal njecton system after each use by placng the flter nto a bucket of clean water, then run the pressure washer n low pressure for 1- mnutes. Pressure Washer Rnsng For WARNNG! Be extremely careful f you must use the pressure washer from a ladder, scaffoldng or any other relatvely unstable locaton. Pressure n a runnng washer bulds as you clmb.when you press the trgger, the recol from the ntal spray could cause you to fa[lthe hgh pressure spray could also cause you to fall f you are too surface. Rnsng: close to the cleanng Slde the nozzle backward to hgh pressure, press the trgger and wat for the detergent to dear. NOTE: You can also stop detergent from flowng by smply removng detergent sphonng tube from bottle. Keep the spray gun a safe dstance from the area you plan to spray. Apply a hgh pressure spray to a small area, then check the surface for damage. f no damage s found, t s okay to contnue cleanng. Start at the top of the area to be rnsed, workng down wth same overlappng strokes as you used for washng and applyng detergent. Automatc Cool Down System (Thermal Relef) f you run the engne on your pressure washer for 3-5 mnutes wthout pressng the trgger on the spray gun, crculatng water n the pump can reach a temperature between F.When the water reaches ths temperature, the automatc cool down system engages and cools the pump by dschargng the warm water onto the ground. Ths system prevents nternal damage to the pump.

GENERAL MANTENANCE RECOMMENDATONS The pressure washer warranty does not cover tems that have been subjected to operator abuse or neglgence.to receve full value from the warranty, the operator must mantan the pressure washer as nstructed n ths manual. Some adjustments wll need to be made perodcally to properly mantan your pressure washer. All mantenance n ths manual and the engne owner's manual should be made at least once each season. Once a year you should clean or replace the spark plug, clean or replace the ar flter and check the spray gun and adjustable nozzle extenson assembly for wear.a new spark plug and clean ar flter assure proper fuel-ar mxture and help your engne run better and last longer. Please refer to your engne owner's manual for more detals. Before Each Use Check engne ol level. Check water nlet screen for damage. Check n-lne flter for damage. Check hgh pressure hose for leaks. Check detergent sphonng tube and flter for damage. Check spray gun and adjustable nozzle extenson assembly for leaks. Rnse out garden hose to flush out debrs. PRESSURE WASHER MANTENANCE Check and Clean nlet Screen Examne the screen on the water nlet. Clean t f the screen s clogged or replace t f screen s damaged. Check Hgh Pressure Hose The hgh pressure hose can develop leaks from wear, knkng, or abuse. nspect the hose each tme before usng t. Check for cuts, leaks, abrasons or bulgng of cover, damage or movement condtons of couplngs. f any of these exst, replace the hose mmedately. _ ARNNG! Never repar a hgh pressure hose. Replace t wth another hose that exceeds the maxmum pressure ratng of your pressure washer. Check Detergent Sphonng Tube Examne the flter on the detergent tube and clean f clogged.the tube should ft tghtly on the barbed fttng. Examne the tube for leaks or tears. Replace the flter or tube f ether s damaged. Check Gun and Adjustable Nozzle Extenson Examne the hose connecton to the spray gun and make sure t s secure.test the trgger by pressng t and makng sure t "sprngs back" nto place when you release t. Put the safety latch n the ON poston and test the trgger.you should not be able to press the trgger. Purge Pump of Ar and Contamnants To remove ar from the pump, follow these steps: Set up the pressure washer as descrbed n "Preparng Pressure Washer For Use". Connect the water supply and turn water on. Pull the trgger on the spray gun and hold. When the water supply s steady and constant, engage the safety latch.

11 S PEaF" $fratto. To remove contamnants from the pump, follow these steps: Set up the pressure washer as descrbed n "Preparng Pressure Washer For Use". Connect the water supply and turn water on. Remove the nozzle extenson from the spray gun. Start the engne accordng to nstructons n "HowTo Use Your Pressure Washer". Squeeze the trgger on the spray gun and hold. When the water supply s steady and constant, engage the safety latch and refasten the nozzle extenson. Check n-lne Flter Refer to Fgure 13 and servce the n-lne flter f t becomes clogged, as follows:. Flter Screen Nozzle Extenson m O-rng Detach spray gun and nozzle extenson from hgh pressure hose. Detach nozzle extenson from spray gun and remove o-rng and screen from nozzle extenson. Flush the screen, spray gun, and adjustable nozzle extenson wth dean water to dear debrs. Cleanng Detergent Sphonng Tube fyou used the detergentsphonngtube,you must flusht wth clean water before stoppng the engne. * Place the detergent sphonng tube n a bucket full of clean water. Slde the adjustable nozzle forward to the low pressure poston. Rush for 1= mnutes. Shut off the engne. MPORTANT: Smply shuttng OFF engne wll not release pressure n the system. When the engne has shut down, squeeze the trgger on the spray gun to releve the pressure n the hose. Nozzle Mantenance A pulsng sensaton felt whle squeezng the spray gun trgger may be caused by excessve pump pressure.the prncpal cause of excessve pump pressure s a nozzle clogged or restrcted wth foregn materals, such as drt, etc.to correct the problem, mmedately clean the nozzle usng the tools ncluded wth your pressure washer and follow these nstructons:. Shut off the engne and turn off the water supply.. Detach the nozzle extenson from the spray gun.twst the nozzle clockwse to the stream poston. Usng the suppled mm (5/64) allen wrench, remove the nozzle from the end of the nozzle extenson (Fgure 14)... f the screen s damaged, the o-rng kt contans a replacement n-lne flter screen and an o-rng. f undamaged, reuse screen. Place the n-lne flter screen nto the threaded end of the nozzle extenson. Drecton does not matter. Push the screen n wth the eraser end of a pencl untl t rests flat at the bottom of the openng.take care to not bend the screen. Nozzle 4. Place the o-rng nto the recess. Push the o-rng snugly aganst the n-lne flter screen. 5. Assemble the nozzle extenson to the spray gun, as descrbed earler n ths manual.. 4. Remove the n-lne flter from the other end of the nozzle extenson. Use the wre ncluded n the kt (or a small paper clp) to free any foregn materal cloggng or restrctng the nozzle (Fgure 14).

Back flush between 30 to 60 seconds.turn the adjustable nozzle extenson to stream spray and move the nozzle from low to hgh whle flushng. _l AUTON! Avod prolonged or repeated skn contact wth used motor ol. Used motor ol has been shown to cause skn cancer n certan laboratory anmals.thoroughly wash exposed areas wth soap and water. KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHLDREN. DON'T POLLUTE. CONSERVE RESOURCES. RETURN USED OL TO COLLECTON CENTERS. PREPARNG THE UNT FOR STORAGE. Renstall the nozzle and n-lne flter nto the nozzle extenson. Do Not overtghten the nozzle wth the allen wrench. 7. Reconnect the nozzle extenson to the spray gun. 8. Reconnect the water supply, turn on the water, and start the engne. 9. Test the pressure washer by operatng wth nozzle n O-Rng the hgh and n the low postons. Mantenance Through the normal operaton of your pressure washer, o-rngs are used to keep the connectons of the hoses and spray gun tght and leak-free.these o-rngs may become worn or damaged. An O-Rng Mantenance Kt s provded wth your pressure washer. t ncludes replacement o-rngs, rubber washer and water nlet flter. Refer to the nstructon sheet provded n the kt to servce your unt's o-rngs. Note that you wll not use all of the parts n the kt. To remove a worn or damaged o=rng: Use a small flathead screwdrver to get underneath the o-rng and pry t off. ENGNE MANTENANCE See the engne owner's manual for nstructons on how to properly mantan the engne. Water should not reman n the unt for long perods of tme. Sedments or mnerals can depost on pump parts and "freeze" pump acton. f you do not plan to use the pressure washer for more than 30 days, follow ths procedure:. Flush detergent sphonng tube by placng the flter nto a pal of clean water whle runnng pressure washer n low pressure mode (adjustable nozzle n the forward poston). Flush for one to two mnutes.. Shut off the engne and let t cool, then remove hgh pressure and garden hoses. Dsconnect spark plug wre from spark plug. 3. Empty the pump of all pumped lquds by pullng the recol handle about 6 tmes.ths should remove most of the lqud n the pump. 4. Use PumpSaver to treat pump.ths prevents freeze damage and lubrcates pstons and seals.
