1 Solid Gold Musik-Stadt Region Porsche Club of America The next meeting of the Musik-Stadt Region PCA will be held on Tuesday, July 11 at: Sportsman s Grille 1640 WestGate Circle Brentwood, TN Meeting time is 6:30 PM Next Club Meeting Next Club Event The next Musik-Stadt Region PCA event is: July 15 driving tour to Circa Grill, Thompsons Station. We will meet at O Charley s in Brentwood at 9:30 AM for a 9:45 AM departure. We will tour scenic Williamson County ending at Circa Grill in Thompsons Station. No stops are planned, so come with plenty of gas to make the 1 1/2 to 2 hour drive to Thompsons Station. 2 A Message From The President Insane! It was just insane! I m talking about LeMans of course. I had gotten up at 5:00 AM to watch the end of the race and man was it something. The Porsche #2 919 Hybrid in LMP1 had been leading the race. Then a loss of oil pressure sent it to the pits at the 21 hour mark for an MGU (Motor Generator Unit - which as I understand is part of the Hybrid energy system). The pit stop lasted well over an hour. Now had Ol Dan been the team manager we would have loaded #2 into the hauler and headed for home. But not this team. When the #2 car came back onto the circuit it was P56 and it regained its P1 position in hour 23. Who would believe it? It was gaining 10 to 15 seconds each lap on the lead car. For sure that took a lot more than a superior machine. It took a first class team that believed they could win! Congratulations Porsche on your 19th overall victory at LeMans! (Should I buy the t-shirt that toasts their 19th victory when it is released or wait until next year to see if they can win #20? Think I ll wait one more year.) Just as exciting the GTE Pro class came down to the final lap. Jordan Taylor, driving the No. 63 Corvette, pulled some beautiful moves to keep his lead over the Aston Martin GTE, but he suffered a puncture with a lap to go and the American team lost its victory. It ain t over till it s over. After a May that was crammed with activities we slowed down a bit in June. JC Costarakis led a great drive to Fall Creek Falls State Park. The weather was great and we had about 15 cars make the tour and it was enjoyed by all. Thanks to JC for pulling this tour together for us. The Porsche Parade takes place in Spokane, July I am not aware of any local member attending Parade this year. Do you? If so we would love to have them present their Parade experience at an upcoming monthly meeting. On July 1 Musik-Stadt set up our tent at the Cars & Coffee at Thoroughbred Cinema in Cool Springs. We distributed brochures and cards to recruit new members and generate interest in the club. Our July 11 our monthly meeting will be held at the Sportsman s Grille in Brentwood. The meeting time is 6:30 PM as always. Hope you are able to come out and join us! Mike Moody is developing a driving tour for July 15 that will meet at the O Charley s in Brentwood at 9:30 AM and depart on a drive through Williamson County. The drive will terminate at Circa, a restaurant in Thompson s Station that the Moody s have visited a number of times to excellent reviews. There will be no rest stop during this tour so arrive will a full tank of fuel. For those not familiar with the Brentwood O Charley s, it is not open in the morning but let me inform you that there is a Dunkin Donuts located across the parking lot. Coffee, donuts and restrooms are available. Finally we are looking forward to the second of three German Cars & Coffee of the year on July 22. The location again is the Factory at Franklin on Franklin Rd. The event runs from 8-10:00 AM. This particular C&C is sponsored by the Mercedes Club. Let s show everyone who the best German car club of middle Tennessee is by filling the lot with Porsches. PAGE 2

6 German Cars, Motorcycles and Coffee Saturday July 22, 2017 German Cars, Motorcycles and Coffee Hosted by Mercedes-Benz Club of Nashville The Factory at Franklin Saturday, July 22, am We have a parking area on the north side of the Factory that you will access from Franklin Road. The parking lot will be cordoned off and only German vehicles will be allowed into the specific parking area. The parking area will have barricades and roping to separate our section of the balance of the parking lot. THIS EVENT IS NOT OPEN TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC. IT IS A PRIVATE GATHERING. So please don t Post, Tweet, Facebook or anything like that about this event. You are obviously encouraged to post it on your clubs web site. This event is strictly for the enjoyment of members of our local German car and motorcycle clubs. Just inside the Factory, we have bathrooms and Honest Coffee Roasters coffee shop where they roast their own coffee and have baked goods and breakfast items. Or come early and get in line for some of the amazing cronuts / donuts from Five Daughters Bakery inside the Factory. There are places to sit and relax in the common area inside the Factory. The management at the Factory has gone out of their way to host our event and provide us a great parking area. We hope that you can come and join us in an environment that is a little less crazy and a little more relaxed than the regular Cars and Coffee. NOTE: When you are traveling down or up Franklin Road, there will be a sign at north side access road, in the front of the Factory at Franklin, that says German in blue and pointing down the street. That is where you turn. From there you will find the parking lot about half way down beside the Factory. PAGE 6
