TheHudsonChamplainPorscheClubBoardmembersonceagainhave deliveredonourfirsthalfof2012withgoodattendanceatthehcpmotorsports andgreatturnoutsatthesocialactivitiestodate. Track Activities TrackDE-DonSchneiderourTrackChairmanandJimMorganRegistrar ChairmanarereportingsuccessfuleventsfortheclubwithoneLimeRockPark trackdeandwiththecups&saucerseventatwatkinsgleninternational.we havehadsafeevents,andfundriverseducationprogramswithprofitable results.greatjobdon,jimandthetrackteam. June3-4TheZone1ClashattheGlen IamproudtoannouncethatDon SchneiderwhocompetedintwoPCAracesatthe2012PorscheClashatWatkins Glen,took1stand2ndplace,whilealsobreakingaWGIClassItrackrecordin theprocess!doniscurrentlythenumberonerankeddriverinzone1andthird inthenation,inhisclass.jobwelldonedon. April14-SmithandWesson TomandDonnaEhmannplannedandguideda greatdrive&dineeventwithascenicdriveoverthroughtheberkshiresand ontospringfield,matothes&wpistolfactory.thetourwasveryinteresting andthecraftsmanshipinengravingspecialorderpistolsdisplayedinthe museumwereunbelievable.andtocompleteourtrip,theclubfeastedand socializedatthemax srestaurantindowntownspringfield.greatjobdonna andtom.attendees:54witharecord27porsches. 6 May12-Cooperstown SteveandLydiaMarlowplannedandimplemented anothergreatdrive&dineeventwithafunridewesttocooperstown.we visitedtheommegangbreweryforaninterestingtourandthenweenjoyeda roundofbeertasting.wefinishedthedayatanoutdoorrestaurantoverlooking thelakeintown.attendees:34with19porsches Picnic-The2012picnicwasagreatsuccesswithbeautifulweatheranda recordturnout.wehad95attendeeswith43porsches.chefjamesklapper (sonofchrisklapper)providedtheclubwithadeliciousbbqmenu.kenblass organizedtheporscheconcourswheretherewere30vehiclesjudgedoutofthe 43Porschespresent.ToddFischernotonlywonfirstplaceinhisclasswithhis beautifulyellow914buthealsowonthepeopleschoiceaward.iwouldliketo thankthefollowingvolunteersthathelpedorganizethepicnic:kenandkaren Blass,DeeandBobAlbert,SteveandLydiaMarlowandmywifeDonnaAntal. PCA s Parade Competition Rules (PCRs) for Medium Sized Regions are used for classifying cars. Entrants must compete both days in order to trophy. There will be a team Challenge for all PCA Regions. Registration opens 8:00 a.m. sharp, first car off approximately 9:15 a.m. both days. All participants must be current PCA members. Porsche cars only. Cost $60/person early registration on or before 8/12/12 $85/person after 8/12/12 Registration fees are for one or two days. Online registration via clubregistration.net only. No on-site registration the day of the event. Registration will open 7/5/12 and close 8/22/12. 16 Gimmick Rally HereattheHudsonChamplainPorscheClubwehavesomethingnewand excitingcooking.iamnotspeakingoffood,eventhoughwheneverwe plananactivityitdoesrevolvearoundgoodfood,butweareplanninga GimmickRallyasourDrive&DineAugustsocialevent. History MywifeDonnaandmyselfattendedthePorscheParadeinSavannah,GAlast yearandparticipatedintheirgimmickrally,whichwaswellattendedbyover 125Porsches.Wehadagreattimewiththecompetitiveeventandenjoyedthe sceneryofgeorgiaandsouthcarolina.fromthatexperiencewesuggestedto LydiaandSteveMarlowthatweshouldholdaRallyeventinourclub.Thuswe decidedtoaddittoour2012menuofevents.werecruitedsteve&barb WeinsteinandTom&DonnaEhmanntoorganizeaGimmickRallythisAugust inthealbanyregion.justsohappenedourzone1rallythisyearwasheldin Framingham,MAandtheyofferedaConcoursonSaturdayMay19th,with77 Porsches,andaGimmickrallyonSundaywith40Porsches.TheWeinstein s andtheehmann sdecidedtoattendthezone1rallyweekendwithdonnaand myselfandweallhadagreattime.tom&donnaevenwon6thplaceinthe GimmickRally.Sonowourteamisexperiencedandwewillhaveanexciting andchallengingrallyeventforourhudsonchamplainclub. Rally Definition IfyouhaveneverparticipatedinaGimmickRally,hereishowitworks.
