Festivities will get underway Saturday, Nvember 22 with a Hliday Shp Hp and Santa s Arrival. The prmtin will cnclude December 8 with anther Hliday Shp Hp. Cnsumers in ur cmmunity and the surrunding market area will be urged t visit participating businesses during this timeframe fr the pprtunity t win nearly $6,000 in Mandan Bucks thrugh Shp Mandan First, Hliday Shp Hp and register t win activities. The prmtin was created t enhance the image f Mandan, imprve business awareness, and generate custmer traffic. New t the prmtin in 2008 is the Shp Mandan First cmpnent, an activity specifically geared tward increasing sales. Shp Mandan First. $4,000 in Mandan Bucks will be given away $20 in Mandan Bucks t each f the first 200 custmers t submit receipts ttaling $400 r mre fr purchases made frm 5 r mre participating businesses between Nv. 22 and Dec. 8. The mre businesses that participate in the verall Shp in Mandan hliday prmtin, the mre effective the campaign will be fr all invlved. Sixty businesses participated in This year, we hpe t have 80 t 100 businesses participate t better shwcase what Mandan has t ffer. Mandan has nearly 500 businesses with apprximately 200 having a retail cmpnent and anther 100-plus being service-related. Retail and service-riented businesses are ideal participants and beneficiaries f the prmtin. Ways fr businesses t participate: Serve as a registratin site fr Mandan Bucks giveaways. $50 in Mandan Bucks will be awarded fr each day f the prmtin frm Nv. 22 t Dec. 8 fr a ttal f $850. Registratin bxes and frms will be delivered t participating businesses by Nv. 19. MPO vlunteers will stp by businesses weekly t cllect the registratin frms fr prize drawings. Winners will be annunced via ur website, by media partners and thrugh advertising.

A series f six banner ads in the Mandan News t prmte the Shp Mandan First activity and list businesses serving as registratin sites t win Mandan Bucks. As it stands, the majrity f csts fr the prmtin are cvered by the MPO with funding received frm the City sales tax fund fr activities that benefit the entire cmmunity.
