Secnd Step: - Check ut ur website fr links t: The current brchure The AASBD Rules and car plans The revised NZ rules Additinal infrmatin (as we think f it) - Teach the team hw t cmpletely dismantle and reassemble the cars - Practise sessins need t get under way start n gentle slpes and wrk upwards - Yu need t get yur car bdy painted in the spnsr s clurs with lgs - If yu are planning a fd stall as a fund raiser then let Heather knw - If yu have a Carnival idea as a fund raiser then let Heather knw Practice: Please, please, please ensure the kids can handle their cars and use their brakes befre launching themselves dwn steep hills! Every year we have several crashes that cause majr damage t cars, minr damage t the drivers and a severe depletin f ur spare parts! Fr cmplete nvice drivers start them n the netball curt with the team pushing then build up t steeper slpes slwly. Nte that this applies t checking yur car t. If yur car has been in stre then cables will have lsened and new builds need t be checked n gentle slpes first! Practice Site: As usual we have a prblem with this in ur cngested city.

3 One quiet rad we have sptted is Burgundy Park Rad ff Sturgess Rad. Be aware that it is a residential street s make sure yu have plenty f adult supervisrs. If anyne spts an alternative suitable place t practice please let me knw. If yu are using public rads be very aware that mtrists d nt expect t see a small SBD car racing twards them at speed! Yu will need adults at apprpriate places fr safety. Take flags, safety vest, cnes anything that can help yu and the kids t be seen. Car Setup Wrkshps: Last year Shawn Dyer ran a cuple f car setup wrkshps with particular emphasis n the use f spindling equipment. Shawn is currently mving 2 hurs suth f Auckland but is still passinate abut the derbies and will be back t help with ur scrutineering. He has als said that he will help guide thse in need with the setup f their cars. 4 Please nte that ther Clubs als have these tls and have learnt hw t use them. T be cmpetitive in ur race, the NZ Finals and in America a finely tuned car is essential s learn hw t d it. Advertise it in yur newsletters and yu may just find parents beating dwn yur dr in their rush t cme t yu! NOTE: Fr thse schls wh find their wn spnsrs there is a REWARD! We will give yur schl a classrm set f 30 Rtary dictinaries (retail value $900) if YOU can find full spnsrship fr yur car (pr rata reward fr partial spnsrship) Crprate Cars: These cars have prved very ppular with many adults: Principals, Spnsrs, VIP guests and a few Team Managers. We will be running them again this year

5 Super kids Cars: As seen n TV! Our superkid cars prved extremely ppular last year with bth Televisin stars and ur less able children. These will be running again this year s let Heather knw if yu have a child wh wuld benefit frm a ride in ne. The car carries ne experienced driver and a less able passenger. Masters Cars: During the last tw years the Masters Cars have run dem races at the lcal races. They have cmpeted fr a trphy but the winner has nt gne t America. This year the team that run the Masters Cars are lking t up the game with the winner f the series cmpeting fr the first time in Akrn in July. There are 5 r 6 f the Masters cars in NZ. One r tw f the West Auckland drivers wh cmpeted last year have either mved n r grwn t big fr the cars s there are cars available fr new drivers wh have cmpeted in the past in super stck cars. Carnival Ideas: We have thught lng and hard n hw t make the Event extra appealing fr spectatrs (hey, we all knw the cars are fascinating but kids watching get restless and like ther things t d as well). Expensive rides are... expensive. We are therefre lking t prvide a Hme Grwn Carnival Event with all prfit ging t thse wh prvide the stalls. Wuld yur schl like t run a carnival idea?
