A templte is lso inluded in this kit to lote ess holes. NOTE: If steering lever vity is not essile, it will e neessry to drill ess holes in giml housing. Align templte with dimple loted eneth del on the giml housing. -Dimple (Beneth Del) CAUTION Be sure to drill nd ut hole nd tp threds perpendiulr to giml housing surfes in the following steps. 2. Drill pilot holes (port nd strord) using drill tht is the sme size s the pilot rod eing supplied with the hole sw (pproximtely 1/4 in.) (6 mm). CAUTION Eye Protetion must e worn when performing the following proedure. Filure to do so my use personl injury. Pge 4B APRIL 2001

37 Bell Housing Ressemly All units uilt with seril numers from 0D to 0F will hve the following ushing instlled. The sels were previously instlled into the ell housing upper ore. They now re lredy instlled in the ushing nd n e instlled with one proedure using Bushing Tool A A Erlier Model Bushing nd Sels NOTE: It my e neessry to pply het to shift shft lever srew to id in removing. NOTE: The inner dimeter of the lter model ushing is muh lrger thn the shift shft. All units with seril numer 0F nd ove hve the following ushing nd sel rrngement. Use Bushing Instlltion Tool A1 to instll the lter model ushing nd sels. Lter Model Bushing nd Sels 1. Erlier Model Bushing nd Sel: Apply smll mount of Speil Lurint 101 to O.D. of shift shft lower ushing. Instll ushing flush with ottom of the ore in ell housing. (On units with lter model ushing nd sel rrngement, instll the lower ushing in Step 6.) Bell Housing -Bushing APRIL 2001 Pge 4B-37

38 SERVICE MANUAL NUMBER Lter Model Bushing nd Sel: Use instlltion tool T to instll lower ushing flush with the ottom of the ore in the ell housing Relief Cut Out 3. Both Models: Apply Lurint 101 to O.D. of ushing nd instll shift shft upper ushing in ore from ottom using pproprite ushing instlltion tool. Lter Model Bushing nd Sel: Instll the upper ushing nd sels individully. -Upper Bushing -Bushing Instlltion Tool ( A2) Pge 4B APRIL 2001

39 4. Instll upper shift shft lever nd shift shft. Apply Lotite or Type A to srew threds. Tighten seurely. d -Upper Shift Shft Lever Srew -Upper Shift Shft Lever -Wsher (Beneth Lever) d-upper Shift Shft Apply Perfet Sel to threds of shift le retiner nd instll shift le. Allow to dry (pproximtely 10 minutes), efore instlling Exhust Bellows Mounting Surfe 5. Instll exhust ellows on giml housing flnge. Position hose lmp s shown. Torque to l-in. Apply ellows dhesive to mounting surfe on inside of ellows.. Position grounding lip nd hose lmp over ellows end. 2. Lurite the end of the shift le with Quiksilver 2-4-C Mrine Lurint with Teflon. 3. Crefully insert the le through the smll opening in the ellows nd through the giml housing. 4. Then insert the le into the engine omprtment.
