6 Instlling Outor! WARNING Filure to orretly fsten the outor oul result in the outor propelling off the ot trnsom resulting in property mge, serious injury, or eth. Before opertion, the outor must e orretly instlle with the require mounting hrwre. Hve your eler instll your outor n relte essories to ensure proper instlltion n goo performne. The outor must e seure to the trnsom with the four 12.7 mm (1/2 in.) imeter mounting olts n loknuts provie. Instll two olts through the upper set of holes n two olts through the lower set of holes Mximum Outor Mounting Height The mounting height of the outor must not exee 63.5 m (25 in.) for L moels, 76.2 m (30 in.) for XL moels, n 88.9 m (35 in.) for XXL moels. Ensure tht the lnyr stop swith stops the engine. Visully inspet the fuel system for eteriortion or leks. Chek outor for tightness on trnsom. Chek steering system for ining or loose omponents. Chek propeller les for mge. After Eh Use Flush out the outor ooling system if operting in slt or pollute wter. Refer to Flushing the Cooling System in the Owner's Mnul. Wsh off ll slt eposits n flush out the exhust outlet of the propeller n gerse with fresh wter if operting in sltwter. Every 100 Hours of Use or One Yerly, Whihever Ours First Chnge the engine oil n reple the oil filter. The oil shoul e hnge more often when the engine is operte uner verse onitions suh s extene trolling. Refer to Chnging Engine Oil in the Owner's Mnul. Inspet the K & N ir filter for eris. Refer to K & N Air Filter Mintenne. Inspet the thermostt visully for orrosion n/or roken spring. Mke sure the thermostt loses ompletely t room temperture. 1. Chek the engine wter seprting fuel filter for ontminnts. Clen or reple the filter. Refer to Fuel System in the Owner's Mnul. Chek the orrosion ontrol noe. Chek more frequently when use in sltwter. Refer to Corrosion Control Anoe in the Owner's Mnul. Drin n reple the gerse lurint. Refer to Gerse Lurition in the Owner's Mnul. Chek the power steering flui. Refer to Cheking Power Steering Flui in the Owner's Mnul. Chek the power steering onnetors n hoses for leks. Inspet the ttery. Refer to Bttery Inspetion in the Owner's Mnul. Chek the wiring n onnetors. Chek the tightness of olts, nuts, n other fsteners. Chek the engine ir intke hose for rks n onnetions for tightness. Chek the ile relief hoses for rks n onnetions for tightness. Sltwter usge. Remove n inspet the sprk plugs for orrosion n reple the sprk plugs s neessry. Apply thin oting of Anti Seize Compoun only on the thres of the sprk plugs prior to instlltion. Refer to Sprk Plug Inspetion n Replement in the Owner's Mnul. Tue Ref No. Desription Where Use Prt No. 81 Anti-Seize Compoun Sprk plug thres Every 300 Hours of Use or Three Yers IMPORTANT: The engine oil must e rine efore removing the gerse to voi oil spillge. Perform the sheule wter pump replement in omintion with n engine oil hnge. Reple the wter pump impeller. Reple the impeller more often if overheting ours or if reue wter pressure is note. 1. Chek the power trim flui. Refer to Cheking Power Trim Flui in the Owner's Mnul. Reple the high pressure in line fuel filter. 1. Reple the sprk plugs t the first 300 hours or thir yer. After tht, inspet the sprk plugs every 300 hours or three yers. Reple the sprk plugs s neee. Refer to Sprk Plug Inspetion n Replement in the Owner's Mnul. Reple the essory rive elt. Use suitle tool to press the relese utton lote on the port sie of the ir ut top owl n rotte the quik relese ir hose pter ounterlokwise. - Air ut top owl - Relese utton - Alignment mrk - Quik relese ir hose pter Pull the quik relese ir hose pter out of the ir ut top owl. - Lok position el - Alignment mrk IMPORTANT: Most mintenne points re essile y removing the top owl only. 9 Cowl Removl 1. Pull up on the top owl lok lth Pull top owl forwr n lift off. 3. Pull lower owl relese lth up. 4. Remove rer owl towrs ft of outor Cowl Instlltion 1. Position lower owl from ft sie of outor. Mke sure it fits properly in the ruer sel. 2. Lok owl in ple y pulling the lower owl lth own Ple top owl into position over engine, front first. Ensure owl fits properly into the ruer sel. 4. The top owl will lok into ple when ownwr pressure is pplie to the k sie of the owl. Ensure the owl is seurely fstene y pulling up on the k of the owl. Air Dut Instlltion 1. Align the t n relese utton on the quik relese ir hose pter with the slots in the ir ut top owl. 90-8M Pge 9 / 13

Insert the quik relese ir hose pter into the ir ut top owl. - Air ut top owl - Relese utton - Quik relese ir hose pter - T Rotte the quik relese ir hose pter lokwise until the lignment mrk ligns with the lok el n the relese utton snps into the hole in the ir ut top owl. - Alignment mrk - Lok el - Air ut top owl - Relese utton Pge 10 / M

11 Ile Relief Hose Connetion Removl Push the relese lip n pull the hose wy from the lower owl. 300 VERADO FOURSTROKE - Relese lip - Ile relief hose - Lower owl Instlltion Push the oupler onto the rss fitting. The oupler will lok in ple when fully sete. - Brss fitting - Relese lip - Ile relief hose Intke Air Filter The engine intke ir filter is externlly mounte. Port engine intke ir omponent routing - Air ut - Engine well - Elow - Filter M Pge 11 / 13

12 Air Filter Removl 1. Loosen the hose lmp seuring the filter to the flnge elow. 2. Remove the filter. - Filter - Engine well - Elow - Hose lmp Air Filter Instlltion 1. Instll the hose lmp onto the ir filter inlet se. 2. Instll the ir filter onto the flnge elow. 3. Tighten the hose lmp. K & N Air Filter Mintenne Refer to the K & N Filter wesite for K & N ir filter inspetion n lening instrutions. Cheking n Aing Engine Oil IMPORTANT: Do not overfill. Tilt outor out/up pst vertil for pproximtely one minute to llow trppe oil to rin k to the oil sump. Tilt outor to vertil (not tilte) position when heking engine oil. For urte reings, hek oil only when engine is ol or fter engine hs not run for t lest n hour. 1. Before strting (ol engine) tilt outor out/up pst vertil to llow trppe oil to rin k to the oil sump. Allow outor to remin tilte for pproximtely one minute. 2. Remove the top owl. Refer to Cowl Removl n Instlltion. 3. Tilt outor to vertil operting position. 4. Pull out the ipstik. Wipe the ipstik en with len rg or towel n push it k in ll the wy. 5. Pull the ipstik k out gin n oserve the oil level. Oil shoul e in the operting rnge (ross hthe region). IMPORTANT: Do not try to fill the oil level to the top of the operting rnge (ross hthe region). Oil level is orret s long s it ppers in the operting rnge (ross hthe region). - Oil level operting rnge Pge 12 / M

13 6. If the oil level is elow the operting rnge (ross hthe region), remove the oil filler p n pproximtely 500 ml (16 oz) of speifie outor motor oil. Allow few minutes for the e oil to rin to the oil sump n rehek the ipstik. Repet the proess until oil level is in the operting rnge (ross hthe region). Do not try to fill to the upper en of the operting rnge (ross hthe region). IMPORTANT: Inspet oil for signs of ontmintion. Oil ontminte with wter will hve milky olor to it; oil ontminte with fuel will hve strong fuel smell. If ontminte oil is notie, hve the engine heke y your eler. 7. Push the ipstik k in ll the wy. 8.
