2 Instlltion L-rkets n e used only on mounting struture with thikness up to 14-3/8 (smll upper yoke) or 8-3/8 to 19-1/8 (lrge upper yoke). 1. Pre-drill suitle mounting struture Drill two Ø1/2 (Ø13 mm) holes in the mounting struture extly 5-1/2 (14 m) prt. Consult struturl engineer to determine the ext lotion of the mounting holes. 2. Determine rket orienttion Big Ass Fns reommends orienting the L-rkets s shown elow depending on the thikness of the mounting struture. The thikness of the struture nnot exeed 14-3/8 (smll upper yoke) or 19-1/8 (lrge upper yoke). Smll Upper Yoke: Up to 8-3/8 thikness Lrge Upper Yoke: 8-3/8 to 13-1/8 thikness Smll Upper Yoke: 6-3/4 to 11-3/8 thikness Lrge Upper Yoke: 11-3/8 to 16-1/8 thikness Smll Upper Yoke: 9-3/4 to 14-3/8 thikness Lrge Upper Yoke: 14-3/8 to 19-1/8 thikness 3. 3 3. Atth L-rkets (to mounting struture with sfety lips) Fsten the L-rkets to the mounting struture with the ustomer-supplied L-Brket Hrdwre nd the BAFsupplied sfety lips. Sfety lips re used only if the top of the mounting struture is inessile due to eiling nd re inluded only if ordered. L-Brket Hrdwre (Customer-Supplied):. (2) 1/2-13 GR 8 Bolt*. (4) 1/2 Flt Wsher. (2) 1/2-13 Nylok Nut *The olts must e long enough to mount the L-rkets nd the sfety lips. 5.5 Sfety Clip nd Criner Note: L-rket orienttion my differ from the illustrtion. Ceiling not shown. 4. Atth upper yoke (to L-rkets) Atth the upper yoke to the L-rkets with the Upper Yoke Hrdwre (inluded with the fn) s shown elow. 4 5. Atth extension tue (to upper yoke) Fsten the extension tue to the upper yoke (lredy tthed to the L-rkets) using the Extension Tue Hrdwre (inluded with the fn). Before tightening the olts, llow the extension tue to hng freely nd lne itself. See the omplete Instlltion Guide for detiled instrutions nd illustrtions on hnging the fn. Element Extension Tue Hrdwre:. (2) 1/2-13 x 6 GR 8 Bolt. (4) 1/2 Flt Wsher. (2) 1/2-13 Nylok Nut Powerfoil X Series, Powerfoil 8, & Bsi 6 Extension Tue Hrdwre:. (2) 1/2-13 x 4-1/2 GR 8 Bolt. Seure the sfety le to the mounting struture y wrpping it round the struture nd seuring the looped ends with the shkle. The le must e drwn tightly round the struture, leving s little slk s possile, with the shkle on the topside of the mounting struture. Seure sfety le (to sfety lips) WARNING: The sfety le is ruil prt of the fn nd must e instlled orretly. If you hve ny questions, ll Customer Servie. Sfety lips re used only when the top of the mounting struture is inessile due to eiling nd re inluded only if ordered (see step 3 on p. 3).
