VU10 smoke evacuation dampers offer a fire-resistance upto 10 minutes with protection grill, and ensure minimum pressure loss. They were developed in accordance with the European product standard EN and tested according to the EN standard. 6 Operating mechanisms 1. MANF : Remote controlled operating mechanism The remote controlled operating mechanism MANF unlocks the damper blade by sending an electrical impulse (VD) or by interrupting the magnet's power supply (VM). Manual (MANF) or optional motorized rearmation (MANF ME). Standard: Remote controlled by means of a magnet 4/48V Manual unlocking possible Manual rearmation; use a torque key 13mm (turn clockwise) IP4 FDCU : Unipolar beginning and end of range switches Rearmation Options: FDCB : Bipolar beginning and end of range switches ME : Rearmation motor Types de bobines VD = natural magnet VM = electromagnet Manual rearmation: Turn 90 anti-clockwise with a torque key 13 mm (1) Caution! => An electromagnet (VM) needs power supply for rearmation Motorized rearmation 1. Switch off the power supply for at least 10 sec.. Supply the actuator for at least 30 sec. (Respect the prescribed voltage). 3. The rearmation stops automatically when detecting a torque >0Nm iswitch off the power supply after rearmation iswitch off the power supply for at least 15 sec. in between each rearmation cycle. Unlocking Manual unlocking: Use the unlocking button () Remote unlocking: By sending an electrical impulse (VD) or by interrupting the power supply (VM) to the magnet. 1 ithe mechanism may never be tested on its own, without being attached to the damper. Such a test might damage the mechanism or the operator might be injured.. NF4 / SF4 : Spring return actuator (see range on page 14) When connected to the power supply, the actuator moves the blade into its standby position (closed). 7 Rearmation Manual rearmation: 1. Turn off the power supply.. To manually rearm use the enclosed handle => Turn clockwise 3. To block the motor, turn the locking mechanism Caution! ido not use a drill or screwing machine istop as soon as the motor is completely rearmed (end of range) Motorized rearmation: 1. Switch off the power supply for at least 10 sec (or 3 sec for NF version). Supply the actuator (respect the prescribed voltage) for at least 180 sec 3. The rearmation stops automatically - When the end of range is reached (damper closed), it takes about 75 sec to arm the damper. - The power supply is interrupted Unlocking Remote controlled unlocking: By interrupting the power supply For version covered by NF: by sending an electrical impulse Manual unlocking: To unlock the motor, turn the locking mechanism. Caution! i If the motor supply is interrupted, the blade of the damper opens ithe mechanism may never be tested on its own, without being attached to the damper. Such a test might damage the mechanism or the operator might be injured. Storing and handling As the smoke damper is a safety element it needs to be stored and handled with caution. icaution: Store in a building away from humidity Avoid any kind of damage Avoid contact with water It is recommended: To unload in a dry area To avoid shocks Not to rotate the smoke damper while moving it Not to use the damper as a scaffold, working table, etc. Not to store smaller dampers inside larger ones 7
