The F000 is designed t measure the flw f a fluid in a pipe. The meter is factry calibrated t any engineering units and displays the rate f flw r the ttal f flw n a 6 digit LCD display. Tw AAA batteries pwer the unit fr up t ne year. There are three mdels are available: F000RB is a rate meter designed t measure and display the rate f flw. F000TB is a ttalizer meter designed t measure and display the ttal flw. F000RT is a rate/ttalizer meter designed t measure and display bth the rate f flw and the ttal flw in. (77 mm).00 in. 4 F000 Page HOW TO INSTALL THE F MOUNTING LOCATION Nte: All diagrams are strictly fr guideline purpses nly. Always cnsult an expert befre installing the F000 n specialized systems. Nte: The F000 shuld be serviced by qualified persns nly. Althugh the F000 is designed t withstand utdr cnditins, a cl, dry lcatin where the unit can be easily serviced is recmmended.!! The F000 can be munted n hrizntal r vertical runs f pipe (see figure 4, 5 and 6). Munting at the twelve 'clck psitin n hrizntal pipe is recmmended. Munting anywhere arund the diameter f vertical pipe is acceptable, hwever, the pipe must be cmpletely full f water at all times. Back pressure is essential n dwnward flws. The F000 accuracy is affected by disturbances such as pumps, elbws, tees, valves in the flw stream. Install the meter in a straight run f pipe as far as pssible frm any disturbances. The distance required fr accuracy will depend n the type f disturbance. Air bubbles r air pckets in the flw stream will adversely affect the reading. A small amunt f back pressure is recmmended in hrizntal runs f pipe.! The F000 is pwered by tw AAA batteries. Life expectancy is ne year minimum. 4. PIPE FLOW STREAM REQUIREMENTS! The F000 accuracy is based n steady, undisturbed flw with a fully develped turbulent flw prfile. Pulsating, swirling and ther disruptins in the flw stream will effect the meter s accuracy.! The F000 is factry calibrated t ± % f full scale rate reading. When measuring ttal flw, accumulated errr ver time must be cnsidered. Accuracy is based n labratry testing f nminal pipe dimensins. Yur actual accuracy will vary based n yur actual pipe I.D. And ther installatin factrs.! There are tw basic types f flw prfiles; turbulent and laminar (see figure 3). Turbulent flw exists when the speed f the fluid flwing in the pipe is nearly cnstant acrss the entire width f the pipe. This is typical f lw viscsity fluids; like water, flwing at high velcity. Laminar flw exists when the speed f the fluid flwing in the center f the pipe is greater than the speed f the fluid at the uter edge near the pipe wall. This is typical f high viscsity fluids flwing at lw velcity. Because the F000 is measuring the fluid near the pipe wall nly (especially in larger pipe sizes), a cnstant flw velcity acrss the flw stream is required.!

6 F000 Page HOW TO INSTALL YOUR F000 SADDLE FITTING The F000 saddle is designed t munt n smth schedule 40 IPS pipe, schedule 80 IPS pipe (ASTMD 785), PN0 metric pipe r PN6 metric pipe (DIN 806). The utside f the pipe must be clean, smth and free f surface imperfectins. The utside diameter must be as specified t ensure a leak free installatin. 7 BLUEWHITE INDUSTRIES Page DRILL THE MOUNTING HOLE! Select an area n the pipe as utlined in sectin 4.. Be sure the surface area f the pipe is clean and smth.! Drill a /8" diameter hle thrugh the center f the pipe wall. On hrizntal installatins, drill the hle as clse t the O'clck psitin as pssible. A hle saw kit is available frm the factry, rder part number ! Clean all burrs frm inside and utside the hle. Use fine sandpaper (440 grit) if necessary INSTALL THE SADDLE F000! Insert the alignment tl thrugh the tp f the saddle. Prper alignment is critical! Slide the large Oring ver the bttm f the alignment tl and int the grve n the underside f the saddle.! With the alignment tl and Oring in place, psitin the saddle ver the drilled hle. Insert the alignment tl int the hle seating the saddle. Be sure the Oring is prperly seated in the Oring grve.! Place the pipe clamps arund the pipe and int the slts n the saddle. Tighten the clamps in an alternating methd. Saddle Oring Drill Hle.5± In. Diameter On Center CHECK THE SADDLE ALIGNMENT! Pull the alignment tl ut f the saddle. (If the tl is nt easily remved, slightly lsen the clamps) Inspect the hle. The saddle must be munted directly ver the hle. Adjust the saddle alignment until the alignment tl slides freely in and ut f the saddle.! Be certain the Oring is prperly seated and visible in the grve arund the hle.! Tighten the clamps INSTALL THE F000 SENSOR! Be sure tw Orings are lcated n the sensr bdy. The Orings have been lubricated at the factry with silicne il.! Push the sensr assembly int the saddle with a twisting mtin. The ntch n the sensr bdy must fit int the slt n the saddle. Be sure the sensr is fully inserted int the saddle.! HAND TIGHTEN the unin nut.

8 BLUEWHITE INDUSTRIES BLUEWHITE INDUSTRIES F000 Page INSTALLING THE F000 MACHINED INLINE FITTING (PI) F000 machined inline fittings cnsist f a meter bdy, tw pipe adapter fittings (inlet and utlet), and tw half unin nuts. Pipe adapters are supplied with female American Natinal Standard Taper Pipe Threads (NPT). The adapters are secured t the meter bdy with half unin nuts and sealed with Vitn Orings.! Select an area n the pipe as utlined in sectin 4..! Install the F000 as yu wuld any ther plastic pipe fitting. Because the F000 uses half unin nut style cnnectins, the adapters can be installed n the piping system first and then secured t the meter bdy with the unins.! The F000 can be munted n hrizntal r vertical runs f pipe. Munting at the twelve 'clck psitin n hrizntal pipe is recmmended. Munting anywhere arund the diameter f vertical pipe is acceptable, hwever, the pipe must be cmpletely full f water at all times. See figure 4, 5 and 6.! Be sure the inlet and utlet fittings are aligned prperly. Imprper alignment f the fittings will put stress n the adapter cnnectins and may cause leaking r fitting damage.! D nt ver tighten the fittings.! Use Tefln tape sealant nly n the adapter threads. D nt use pipe dpe r glue.! Be sure the inlet and utlet plumbing is prperly secured. Select an area n the pipe as utlined in sectin 4..! Remve the F000 sensr frm the tee fitting. D nt glue the TEE while the sensr is installed.! Install the F000 tee fitting as yu wuld any ther plastic pipe slvent weld (glue) fitting. D nt use t much glue. Excessive glue may create a disturbance in the flw stream which will effect the accuracy f the meter.! The F000 can be munted n hrizntal r vertical runs f pipe. Munting at the twelve 'clck psitin n hrizntal pipe is recmmended. Munting anywhere arund the diameter f vertical pipe is acceptable, hwever, the pipe must be cmpletely full f water at all times. 10 F000 Page HOW TO OPERATE THE F000 Nte: The calibrated units f measure such as GPM, LPM, M3H, GALLONS, LITERS, CUBIC METERS, ect., And the decimal pint lcatin are preprgrammed at the factry t standard flw ranges (see chart). Any unit f measure can be factry prgrammed. Please cntact the factry fr details.! The meter is shipped frm the factry with AAA batteries installed.! When measuring cntinuus flw (i.e. 4 hurs per day, 7 days per week), d nt perate the meter in the upper 5% f the calibrated flw range. The paddle speed in these high flw ranges is fast. Damage t the paddle may ccur if the meter is allwed t run cntinuusly at the high flw rate, especially with crrsive r abrasive fluids.!!! Mdel F000RB:The F000RB is the basic rate meter. The meter will display the rate f flw frm.0 thrugh in any engineering units. Sme standard units f measure are GPM, GPH, GPD, LPM, LPH, LPD, M3H, etc. Mdel F000TB:The F000TB is the basic ttalizer meter. The meter will display the ttal flw amunts frm.0 thrugh in any engineering units. Sme standard units f measure are GALLONS, LITERS, CUBIC METERS. Pressing and hlding the RESET buttn (lcated n the frnt panel) fr at least.0 secnds resets the ttal t zer. This feature can be disabled see Fig. belw. Mdel F000RT:The F000RT is the rate and ttalizer meter. The meter will display the flw rate amunts and the ttal flw amunts frm.0 thrugh in any engineering units. Sme standard units f measure are, GALLONS PER HOUR, GALLONS PER DAY, LITERS PER MINUTE, LITERS PER HOUR, LITERS PER DAY, CUBIC METERS PER HOUR, CUBIC METERS PER DAY. Pressing the RESET buttn (lcated n the frnt panel) tggles the display between flw rate and ttal flw. Pressing and hlding the RESET buttn fr at least.0 secnds while the ttal flw value is displayed will reset the ttal t zer. This feature can be disabled see Fig. belw. 12 F000 Page 7.0 HOW TO MAINTAIN THE F000 The F000 requires very little maintenance, hwever, sme cnditins will cause increased wear n the paddle and/r pssible damage t the unit. Damage caused by crrsive r abrasive fluids is nt cvered under warranty.! Peridically remve the sensr assembly frm the pipe fitting and inspect the meter fr signs f wear and bstructins. Clean the paddle f any freign bjects. Paddle and axle wear can be caused by chemical attack and/r abrasive fluids. Replace the paddle and axle if wrn. Varius axle materials are available fr crrsive fluids.! Althugh the meter is capable f perating at the high end f the flw range, the meter shuld nt be allwed t perate cntinuusly at flw rates in the upper /4 r 5% f the calibrated flw range. The paddle and axle life is directly related t the rate f flw and the fluid being measured. Crrsive and abrasive fluids mving at high flw rates will cause increased wear requiring frequent inspectin and maintenance. Ceramic, titanium r nickel axles are available fr crrsive and abrasive fluids.! Orings shuld be inspected peridically. Immediately replace the rings at any sign f wear, swelling, cracking r disclratin.! The meter is designed t withstand minr cndensatin inside the enclsure. Prlnged excessive misture inside the enclsure, due t high humidity cnditins, may damage the meter. Reduce the humidity r mve the meter t a less humid lcatin.! Replace the tw AAA batteries every mnths. The prgram memry is nnvlitile and will nt erase when replacing the batteries. Prcessing pwer will be maintained fr abut 45 secnds, preventing the lse f ttalizing data, while the batteries are being replaced. T replace the batteries, pen the rear panel f the enclsure by remving the tw Phillips screws. After replacing the batteries, be sure the fam insert is in place and the panel gasket seal is in gd cnditin, befre clsing the rear panel.! Test the electrnics by remving the sensr assembly frm the pipe fitting and spinning the paddle by hand. While spinning, the number 0 reading in the display windw indicates that the battery is supplying pwer t the meter but a signal is nt being prcessed by the circuitry.
