MOTORRAD is Europe s oldest and biggest media brand for everything to do with the motorised two-wheeler. The German website is at the Englishlanguage website at The MOTORRAD magazine is published every two weeks on Fridays. The core themes of MOTORRAD are tests and comparisons of motorcycles, based on a 1000-point appraisal scheme comprising the categories Engine, Chassis, Day-to-day, Safety and Cost. This approach enables objective comparisons to be made between motorcycles across all genres and model years. In addition to this, the MOTORRAD editorial team maintains an endurance test fleet of motorcycles that are driven for 50,000 kilometres, logging all costs and unusual incidents. On completion of the endurance test, the editors open up the engine, examine all parts for wear-and-tear and award points. The magazine and website are regularly supplemented with tyre, clothing and accessory tests from all areas of motorcycling. MOTORRAD also presents new models, as well as reporting on the motorcycling scene, on exhibitions and shows and on the various race disciplines. This is all rounded off with an extensive travel and motorcyclelife section marked the 18th consecutive year of Motorcycle of the Year. The initiator of what is the biggest reader survey in the motorcycle media sector is Motor Presse Stuttgart with MOTORRAD, Europe s leading motorcycling magazine. 52,172 respondents from Germany chose their favourites among 208 categorised models. In the areas of Clothing and Accessories, the BEST BRANDS are chosen. The survey also generates data on brand images and purchasing behaviour.
