Dt was the funding Chairpersn f the Alliance Bard in 2011, and has been instrumental in creating a psitive and welcming envirnment. Dt has als been a very significant team member t prmte Sustainable Neighburhds in the cmmunity, and has been a staple presence at ur prmtinal stalls ver many years. We wish her all the best, and will miss having her at ur meetings. 6.2 Alliance scial media plicy Draft scial media and website plicy circulated via , with sme updates t clarify gvernance. Nte invitatin fr ther grups t attend as a train the trainer activity. 7.7 Valley f a thusand fauna pssible grant, Cranbng SNG 'Valley f a Thusand Fauna' is a well-illustrated in clur and abut 200+ pages lng. It is an inventry f nearly 1500 species t date frm the Dra Creek Catchment. It is intended t infrm sustainability/landcare grups f the species present and t help them identify lcal species. Seeking grant t publish. Apprve in principle Need t review grant applicatin befre submitting. 8 Reprt backs frm member grups and prjects 8.1 Visit t Slar Pwer Australia Went t Slar Australia...lcal and Australian...meeting tnight at Cardiff, and it was quite interesting t learn abut future plans n slar, fr businesses, hmes and cars. We must make greater effrts prmting slar. They are using Krean-based lithium batteries that they put tgether lcally and last many years. Hme use f batteries using slar is getting cheaper, but yu shuldn t charge an electric cars batteries always n a fast charge utlet...yu need slw charging at hme t extend the life f the batteries. Very interesting that this cmpany is a lcal Cardiff cmpany that is innvative. They have develped a battery pack that culd be great fr Australian cnditins and adapted fr mbile slar signs and husehld use. Advances sn t happen. The battery-pwered electric vehicles have wn car races. T add t the future feel, there were electric racing cars and bikes and an electric De Lren! Back t the Future! 8.2 Living Smart Festival Saturday 22 September Tw stalls have been bked fr the Alliance. Intended that SN vlunteers wrk acrss bth f these marquees, where required. 1 - Wash up statin Have requested t be next t cffee van, and t liaise with them befrehand.

Greater Charlestwn have indicated they d like t have ne t. Gd t think f ther repairs that culd be dne eg bike maintenance; small furniture; thers??? 8.4 Bmerang Bags Wrkshp, June Cardiff Area SNG Reprt back: Plastic Bag ban June - July 5 sessin were cnducted ver 4 days t capture the variety f peple shpping. 13 Vlunteers frm WBSNG and The Wmen s Shed n the Lake cllabrated t make this event a huge success. Over 500 bags were either, handed ut, sld via a dnatin $ fr the Wmen s Shed n the Lake r purchased the reusable Fruit and Veg bags frm Upcycle Newcastle $ Our presence in the Warners Bay Village shpping centre was received very well engaging 100 s f peple in the tpic f single use plastic bags, I believe we were successful in assisting with the transitin t using reusable bags and ther ways t recycle within the cmmunity f Warners Bay Areas SNG. Cardiff event ended up being cancelled. 8.6 Waste t Art Twenty tw registratins s far. Hlding ff n prmtin fr nw. Have sent a request t participants t send thrugh sme details f their wrks, and prgress phts. Sme excellent prjects are in prgress. 8.7 Hlmesville Cmmunity Garden West Wallsend District SNG Spring Fair event cming up 8 September. Lking fr a certified first aider wh can attend n the day. Pergla / seating area prject is prgressing. Prgress reprt was submitted t the Cmmunity Building Partnership prgram. Have frmally cmpleted their Cuncil grant t build the garden beds. 8.8 Pamper Care Prject Anther amazing mnth fr the Prject and I thank everyne wh dnated t assist thse in need in West Ward.

5 The Hair Care prgram is slwly cming tgether as is Glinda's Stry Time Adventure, with the assistance f Wdrising Neighburhd Centre. The Dress Smart, Career Smart event at Castle Persnnel was a success, helping many peple with clthes fr that shrt ntice interview. We are lking fr a new venue t hld the Dress Smart, Career Smart Prgram.
