2 1.Installing the app and setting it up fr the first time 1.1 Installing the app Dwnlad and install the OpenStreetCam app n yur device like any ther app: If yu have an iphne, please g t: penstreetcam/id ?mt=8 If yu have a Andrid Phne, please g t: apps/details?id=cm.telenav.streetview 1.2 Setting up the app fr the first time Launch the OSC app n yur phne (see icn belw) Enter the menu by taping the left upper menu buttn Tap the Sign in buttn in the left upper crner Create an OSC accunt (if yu d nt already have an OSC accunt): e.g.: tap the Register nw link and simply fllw the steps. If yu have an OSC accunt already, yu can just lgin with yur username and passwrd.

Installing the smartphne in the car Place the car phne hlder in the central tp area f the windshield Place the phne in the car hlder munt, in landscape rientatin, making sure nt t bstruct the camera Launch the OSC app Tap the Camera buttn at the bttm f the screen Make sure that elements like: dashbard windw wipers car hlder car bnnet are nt visible in the recrded images.

Cnnecting the OBDII device with the OSC app In case yu have been prvided with a OBDII dngle, please fllw this steps: Lcate yur car s OBDII cnnectr This is usually fund in the driver s side ft well and it lks like the cnnectr in the image belw Make sure yur car is switched ff and the key is ut f the ignitin Cnnect the prvided dngle int yur car s OBDII prt At this step, it is imprtant t see if yu have a Wi-Fi r a Bluetth dngle (usually it is Wi-Fi) Switch the car n Open yur phne and g t the Phne s settings -> netwrk cnnectin sectin. Based n the type f OBDII dngle that yu have g t either: Wi-Fi Bluetth

5 Search fr devices nearby and when yu see the OBDII dngle tap n it t cnnect (e.g.: in the belw image, yu can see hw an OBDII shuld shw up when it is discvered by yur mbile device) After cnnectin is successful, Open the OSC app Tap the left upper menu buttn G t Settings Scrll dwn t OBDII sectin and select cnnectin type, again, based n the OBDII dngle that yu have: Wi-Fi (mst cmmn) Bluetth Bluetth Lw Energy

6 After selecting the OBDII type, scrll t the next sectin and tap Cnnect Yu shuld be all setup. Nw if yu g back t the main screen and tap the camera buttn yu shuld see an indicatin that the OBDII is cnnected. This will shw yur car s speed in real-time. NOTE: if yu leave yur car parked fr an extended perid yu shuld remve the OBDII dngle frm the car as this culd drain sme f yur battery. 4. Recrding Launch the OSC app Tap the Camera buttn at the bttm f the screen Tap the Start recrding buttn and yu are gd t g! Yu can stp the recrding at any time and resume it. Hwever, this is nt mandatry fr situatins when yu stp yur car since it will be recrding nly while mving Yu can als switch the phne s screen ff if needed by pressing n the phne s pwer buttn

7 Nte: Make sure that yu stp recrding if the fllwing cnditins ccur: night sunset rain fg snw 5. Uplading the recrded data After yu recrd data, we encurage yu t uplad recrdings each day. In rder t uplad the data, yu have t d the fllwing: Cnnect a charger t the phne s that the phne s battery is nt depleted during uplad Cnnect the phne t a Wi-Fi ruter that has a stable internet cnnectin. NOTE: If yu have an Andrid phne the phne will start uplading autmatically. If it des nt, fllw the iphne steps belw Fr iphne, start the app, tap the left tp menu buttn and tap Uplad Next tap the Uplad all buttn Yu can nw start recrding! Just press the recrd buttn when ready!
