2 Getting Started STEP ONE: Create an accunt Visit truxtrax.cm and click Sign in/sign up Create an accunt by entering yur cmpany, vehicle, trailer and driver infrmatin. Check yur inbx fr yur registratin cnfirmatin and yur first vehicle PIN number. Side nte: After yu cmplete step ne, yu can nw add as many vehicles, trailers and drivers as yu need. The PIN number fr each vehi cle can be fund inside the vehicle tab f the dashbard. STEP TWO: Dwnlad the app iphne : Search TruxTrax in the app stre Andrid: Search TruxTrax in the Ggle Play Stre Activate yur PIN by lgging in t the app with the PIN number prvided fr that vehicle Side nte: Dwnlad the mbile app fr each mbile device fr each vehicle in yur fleet. Lg in t the app using the vehicle PIN numbers which can be fund inside the vehicle tab f the dashbard. STEP THREE: Upgrade t ELD Visit truxtrax.cm and purchase an ELD subscriptin fr as many devices that yu require via secure nline payment. Yur ELD device/devices will be sent t yu by curier. Each Truxbx ELD will cme with a Truxbx ID number which yu will need fr installatin truxtrax.cm

3 Cnnecting the ELD 1. Lgin at TruxTrax.cm 2. Select a vehicle frm the vehicle tab 3. Select a Truxbx ID frm the drpdwn menu fr that vehicle. 4. Cnnect yur Truxbx ELD t the engine diagnstic prt f the vehicle. 5. Pair yur mbile device with the Truxbx ELD via Bluetth/BLE by searching fr the mac number indicated n the device. 6. Lg int the TruxTrax app using the PIN number assciated t that vehicle. 7. The Truxbx ELD will feed yur trip infrmatin and ELgbk with the infrmatin sent frm the engine s cmputer. Using the app SETTINGS: TRIP: Set yur carrier infrmatin and yur time zne Adjust yur settings fr Mi. vs KM, Cst per, USA r CAN Adjust yur lgbk setting fr infrmatin intervals and cycles Persnalize yur ntificatins - TIP: Keep yur mbile device (phne r tablet) plug in t a charger at all times while using TruxTrax t prevent a lss f cnnectivity r a ELD Malfunctin if yu mbile device lses battery pwer Tap n Trip frm the hme screen Set yur current dmeter reading Select the driver/c-driver/trailer Set yur departure and destinatin Enter trip/lad number Click Start On this screen yu will see a real time map, yur ttal distance and state mileage calculatin, as well as fuel and expense csts Frm this screen, using the menu buttn in the upper right crner yu have ptins t add fuel, add expenses, ntes, edit yur trip, pause yur trip and stp yur trip. truxtrax.cm

4 ELD The functin shws yu the status f yur ELD cnnectin. The functin icn will appear red if the is a data diagnstic event f malfunctin that needs yur attentin. Tap n the ELD sectin and yu will see the data diagnstic event r malfunctin cde with a small descriptin. Please see Data diagnstic/ Malfunctin Management sheet n page. - Nte that the ELD Data diagnstic/ Malfunctin Management nly englbes events regarding the ELD device itself and nt the mbile device The functin will als sund an alert if ever yur mbile device which is cnnected t the ELD via Bluetth ever lses cnne ctivity. Examples are leaving the truck will yur mbile device is still cnnected t the ELD and is ut f range r, a cnnectin prblem with the mbile device. ELOGBOOK Tap Lgbk ne fr the first driver. Select the driver and tap Start. It is recmmended t setup driver PIN s in the TruxTrax dashbard fr security reasns Repeat fr Lgbk tw if necessary fr secnd/c-driver This screen will shw yu the traditinal lgbk graph and ther details such as inspectins, vilatins and warnings Frm this screen, using the menu buttn in the upper right crner yu have ptins t sign yur lgbk, enter inspectin inf rmatin, use the DOT mde, send/share yur lgbk, HOS recap r clse the lgbk - New status Tap n specific status buttn under the graph t edit that status Available status: OFF ff duty SB sleeper berth DR driving ON n duty PC persnal use YM yard mves Enter start and end times Enter lcatin and dmeter reading and any ntes. Tap save and return t the ELgbk All manual changes t the duty status will be lgged and included in the radside inspectin display/ /pdf *Infrmatin captured frm the ELD may nt be edited. truxtrax.cm

5 - New Inspectin Set yu lcatin and dmeter reading Specify if it is pre/pst trip inspectin Enter vehicle infrmatin and select any defects frm the list Enter trailer infrmatin and select any defects frm the list Click sign and save Certify yur inspectin (Tap n buttn: Agree r Nt ready) - Radside inspectin mde The Radside inspectin mde lets yu select the last 7 day r 14 day perid f yu electrnic lgbk and the all events ELD lg. The all events ELD lg recrds all f yur Engine, ELD and Driver activity in the mandated frmat. Upn tapping Radside Inspectin frm the menu, s imply select yur desired date range. This screen f the Radside inspectin mde can be used t present a digital representatin f yur electrnic lgbk and all events ELD lg fr DOT inspectin. The Radside inspectin mde allws yu t share yur electrnic lgbk and all events ELD lgs via fr DOT inspectin by simply tapping n and entering the address in which t send yur data fr DOT inspectin, and tap send. This screen will als allw yu t share yur electrnic lgbk and lgs via web services and fr DOT inspectin by tapping n web services buttn. Enter a cmment in the ntes sectin and tap send. This screen als allws yu t save yur electrnic lgbk and all events ELD lg as a PDF fr printing purpses fr DOT inspectin by tapping n PDF and saving the file t yur device. It can then be printed by yur persnal printing slutin D nt frget t certify yur electrnic lgbk (Tap n buttn: Agree r Nt ready) - Certificatin f Recrds r Re-Certificatin f Recrds This functin serves as an electrnic signature fr yur lgbk when yu have cmpleted yur lgbk and fr after yu have made sme changes after yu have certified yur lgbk This functin will read I hereby certify that my data entries and my recrd f duty status fr this 24 hur perid are true and crrect Simply tap n Agree if yu are ready t certify, r tap n Nt ready t cntinue with this lgbk. - HOS Recap The functin shws yu hw many hurs f driving yu have left, hw many hurs in yur shift is left, yur cycle and duty prgress/status, and a full recap f yur HOS by day. truxtrax.cm

6 SWITCH ACTIVE DRIVER In the instance where ne device is used in ne vehicle fr a team f tw drivers, whereas ne dirver will ccupy Lgbk 1 and the ther driver will ccupy Lgbk 2, a change f wh is the active driver in the TruxTrax mbile app is necessary. The driver wh ccupies Lgbk 1 will be the active driver by default at the start f a trip. T change the active driver t the driver ccupying Lgbk 2 simply tap and hld the Lgbk 2 buttn (3-4 secnds) n the main screen until the driver wh ccupies lgbk 2 is designated the active driver. Using the Dashbard EN-ROUTE This sectin allws yu t track yur vehicles lcatin and rute in real-time Click n a vehicle frm the list r zm in t btain further detail By clicking n the vehicle icn n the map yu may btain and edit their trip infrmatin, send the driver an instant message, shw the rute detail and mileage details. CHAT This sectin allws t message ne driver r the entire fleet at the same time. Yu can share trip infrmatin updates, phts and frms ALERTS This sectin uses a Ge fence attribute t alert yu f certain events Events can be based n lcatin, distance r date. Prgram an alert fr when a driver arrives at a certain destinatin, has cvered a certain distance r a date fr a vehicle i nspectin, maintenance, lad delivery DRIVERS This sectin is where yu add, edit and delete driver prfiles. truxtrax.cm

7 VEHICLE This sectin is where yu add, edit and delete vehicle infrmatin. Inside each vehicle prfile page is a unique PIN number needed t lg in t the mbile app Inside each vehicle prfile page is a field where yu need t enter the Truxbx ID fr that vehicle Yu may als unlink a PIN frm a device by clicking n unlink in the vehicle prfile. This will allw yu t lg in t a ne w device using this PIN. TRAILERS This sectin is where yu add, edit and delete driver prfiles. HISTORY In this sectin, by using date and vehicle filters yu may see the histrical data fr each vehicle fr rute, mileage, fuel, and expenses. REPORTS In this sectin, using the available filters such as dates, vehicles, distance unit, gas unit, quarter etc Yu may run reprts fr ne, many r all vehicles fr mileage, fuel and IFTA TRUXBOX ELD REQUIRED APPLICATIONS TruxTrax Web Applicatin - Required t create Vehicle, Trailer and Driver prfiles and attribute ELD device t vehicles TruxTrax Mbile Applicatin Required t use ELgbk and ELD fr each vehicle Truxbx ELD Device - Engine cnnected device with used t cnnect the ELD t TruxTrax Mbile Applicatin ADDITIONAL DOCUMENTATION: Please keep a cpy f this user manual in each vehicle. Driver are required t have blank drivers recrds f duty status frms with graph-grids and duty status with thrughut their trip in the event f an unlikely technlgical barrier preventing them frm using the mbile applicatin and ELD. 8 ELD DATA DIAGNOSTICS / MALFUNCTION MANAGEMENT TruxTrax prvides the ELD Malfunctin sheet fr drivers included in the Truxbx ELD user manual, which they can present t a DOT fficer during an inspectin in case f an ELD malfunctin. A mtr carrier must ensure that its drivers pssess nbard a cmmercial mtr vehicle an ELD infrmatin packet cntaining the user manual fr the driver describing hw t perate the ELD; An instructin sheet fr the driver describing ELD malfunctin reprting requirements and recrdkeepi ng prcedures during ELD malfunctins; and a supply f blank driver s recrds f duty status graph-grids sufficient t recrd the driver s duty status and ther related infrmatin fr a minimum f 8 days. Data Diagnstics An ELD must have the capability t mnitr its cmpliance with the technical requirements. It must detect and recrd events r elated t malfunctins and data incnsistencies. (Subpart B, sectin 4.6) Data Diagnstic Events: These events are when an ELD indicates there is a data incnsistency. The driver must fllw the recmmendatins by the ELD prvider t reslve the incnsistency, if it ccurs. [Sectin 49 CFR (c)] Pwer data diagnstic cde 1 An ELD must mnitr the Data it receives frm the engine ECM r alternative surces, and data recrd histry t identify instances when it may nt have cmplied with the pwer requirements ELD nt fully functinal within ne minute f the engine turning n Wiring r pwer surce fault Respnse Drivers must check that their lgs are crrect by reviewing them n the mbile applicatin. Then, they can reslve the diagnstic event by turning f the Truck engine and restarting. 9 Engine synchrnizatin diagnstic cde 2 An ELD is required t establish a link t the engine ECM, and must recrd an engine synchrnizatin data diagnstics event, when it n lnger can acquire values fr the ELD parameters required fr recrds within five secnds. Wiring r cnnectin fault Respnse Drivers must ntify the carrier as sn as pssible and arrange fr the ECM link t be restred. Once the ECM link is restred, drivers must thrughly review their lgs and edit, as necessary, t ensure they are crrect. Then, they can reslve the diagnstic event by turning f the Truck engine and restarting. The driver must ntify the carrier and TruxTrax by fllwing the hard malfunctin prcess if these events becme a regular ccurrence. Missing required data elements data diagnstic cde 3 An ELD must mnitr the cmpleteness f the ELD event recrd infrmatin in relatin t the required data elements fr each event type, and must recrd a missing data element and data diagnstics event fr the driver, if any required field is missing at the time f recrding. Temprary r permanent lss f GPS Intermittent r discnnected link t the vehicle ECM Respnse Drivers can reslve this data diagnstic by manually entering the missing data assciated with their recrds alng with an explanatin. 10 Data transfer data diagnstic cde 4 An ELD must implement in-service mnitring functins t verify that the data transfer mechanism(s) are cntinuing t functin prperly. An ELD must verify this functinality at least nce every seven days. ELD fails t cmmunicate recrds t EROAD Dept fr seven cntinuus days Respnse Unless driving in an area with knwn cellular cverage issues, drivers shuld ntify their carrier immediately. This fault aut-reslves, if the device begins t cmmunicate successfully again. The driver must ntify the carrier and TruxTrax by fllwing the hard malfunctin prcess if these events becme a regular ccurrence. Unidentified driving recrds data diagnstic cde 5 If mre than 30 minutes f driving in a 24-hur perid shws unidentified driver n the ELD, the ELD must detect and recrd an unidentified driving recrd data diagnstic event, and the data diagnstic indicatr must be turned n fr all drivers lgged in t that ELD fr the current 24-hur perid and the fllwing seven days. Mre than 30 minutes cmbined vehicle use withut a lgged-in driver Respnse Drivers must review the unidentified jurneys recrded n the ELD and accept any perids f drive time recrded, while they were driving and nt lgged in t the ELD system. truxtrax.cm

11 Malfunctins management Malfunctin events are when the ELD detects technical cmpliance issues. The driver must: (1) ntify the mtr carrier within 24 hurs, (2) recnstruct the recrd f duty status fr the current 24 hurs and the last seven days n graph -grid paper lgs that cmply with Sectin 49 CFR Keep paper lgs until the ELD is serviced and brught back int cmpliance. [Sectin (a)] Pwer cmpliance cde P An ELD must mnitr the data it receives frm the engine ECM r alternative surces, and data recrd histry t identify instances when it might nt have cmplied with the pwer requirements. Mre than 30 minutes f driving time lst in a 24-hur perid Respnse Drivers shuld review and crrect their lgs, and ntify their carrier f the fault. Once the fault has been crrected, the m alfunctin is cleared by explaining the fault and reslutin in the ELgbk ntes sectin. Engine synchrnizatin cde E An ELD must set an engine synchrnizatin cmpliance malfunctin, if cnnectivity t any f the required data surces is lst fr mre than 30 minutes during a 24-hur perid aggregated acrss all driver prfiles. Mre than 30 minutes withut ECM engine synchrnizatin ver a 24-hur perid Respnse Drivers must ntify their carrier as sn as pssible and arrange fr the ECM link t be restred. Once the ECM link is restred, drivers must thrughly review their lgs and edit, as necessary, t ensure they are crrect. Then, they can reslve the diagnstic event by turning f the Truck engine and restarting. 12 Timing cmpliance cde T The ELD must peridically crss-check its time with an external UTC surce, and must recrd a timing cmpliance malfunctin when it can n lnger meet the underlying timing requirement f less than 10 minutes time deviatin. Vehicle has been ut f service fr sufficient time that the internal clck is n lnger accurate, and the ELD has nt yet sy nchrnised its time Respnse Once the internal clck has been crrected, drivers are prmpted t review their lgs befre reslving the malfunctin. Then, they can reslve the diagnstic event by turning f the Truck engine and restarting. The driver must ntify the carrier and TruxTrax by fllwing the hard malfunctin prcess if these events becme a regular ccurrence. Psitining cmpliance cne L An ELD must mnitr elapsed time during perids when the ELD fails t acquire a valid psitin measurement within five miles f the CMV s mvement. When such elapsed time exceeds a cumulative 60 minutes ver a 24-hur perid, the ELD must set and recrd a psitining cmpliance malfunctin. Mre than 60 minutes withut a valid GPS fix in a 24-hur perid This malfunctin might appear during a temprary lss f a valid GPS fix, but it aut-reslves nce GPS is restred. 13 Data recrding cmpliance R An ELD must mnitr its strage capacity and integrity and must detect a data recrding cmpliance malfunctin if it can n l nger recrd r retain required events, r retrieve recrded lgs that are nt therwise catalged remtely by the mtr carrier. Hardware fault Respnse The driver must ntify the carrier and TruxTrax by fllwing the hard malfunctin prcess. Data Transfer cmpliance cde S After an ELD recrds a data transfer data diagnstic event, the ELD must increase the frequency f the mnitring functin t check at least nce every 24-hur perid. If the ELD stays in the uncnfirmed data transfer mde fllwing the next three cnsecutive mnitring checks, the ELD must detect a data transfer cmpliance malfunctin. Failure t cmmunicate fr three days fllwing a data transfer data diagnstic event Respnse Unless driving in an area with knwn cellular cverage issues, the driver must ntify the carrier and TruxTrax by fllwing the hard malfunctin prcess if these events becme a regular ccurrence. 14 ELD HARD MALFUNCTION PROCESS If the TruxTrax ELD (truxbx) is experiencing a hard malfunctin whereby the driver is unable t reslve an event r the events are recurring repeatedly the driver/carrier shuld: Cntact TruxTrax supprt at supprt@truxtrax.cm Take nte f the malfunctin and prvide a written descriptin t yur fleet manage within 24 hurs Keep a paper lg r use the TruxTrax mbile app ELgbk feature fr that day and until the ELD is repaired r replaced. In the event f an inspectin, yu may display the previus 7-14 days frm the mbile app. IMPORTANT INFORMATION CONCERNING MALFUNCTIONS If a mtr carrier receives r discvers infrmatin cncerning the malfunctin f an ELD, the mtr carrier must take actins t crrect the malfunctin f the ELD within 8 days f discvery f the cnditin r driver s ntificatin t the mtr carrier, whichever ccurs first. In the event f an ELD malfunctin, TruxTrax will send a new teld device upn ntificatin frm the wner-peratr r fleet manager. If a mtr carrier requires a time extensin, they must ntify the FMCSA Divisin Administratr fr the State f the mtr carrier s principal place f business within 5 days after a driver ntifies the mtr carrier.
