2 WELCOME Cngratulatins n yur purchase f the Apex EnergyBar 6! The EnergyBar 6 allws the Apex system t cntrl up t six 230 vlt items such as lights, pumps, fans, heaters, chillers and mre. PHYSICAL INSTALLATION The EnergyBar 6 shuld be securely munted in a lcatin free frm misture. Use wd screws thrugh the munting tabs r if munting n drywall, use drywall anchrs (munting screws and anchrs nt included). Munt the EnergyBar 6 abve the water line f the aquarium. Be sure t utilize drip lps n all pwer crds and AquaBus cables plugged in t the EnergyBar 6. Plug the EnergyBar 6 int a circuit prtected by a Grund Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI). AQUABUS CONNECTORS The EnergyBar 6 cmmunicates with and prvides pwer t the Apex base, Apex Display and Apex accessry mdules thrugh the AquaBus cnnectr. The EnergyBar 6 has fur cnnectrs t cnnect AquaBus Accessries. There are n limitatins n the rder AquaBus accessries can be cnnected r t which AquaBus prts accessries must be cnnected. The ttal length f all AquaBus cables shuld be limited t 200 feet. Please see the AquaCntrller Apex Installatin and Getting Started Guide fr mre infrmatin. WARNING: NEVER plug standard USB devices int any AquaBus cnnectr r AquaBus accessries int cmputer USB prts. Damage t the AquaBus accessry and/r USB device may result. OUTLETS The EnergyBar 6 prvides six switched 230V utlets. They are numbered 1 thrugh 6 as illustrated belw. All utlets are switched with relays and can pwer items up t 8 amps each. The ttal current draw fr all active utlets must be less than 10 amps. Cmmunicates with and pwers the AquaCntrller Apex Display, base unit and accessries thrugh the AquaBus. Active electrical current mnitring and lgging thrugh the AquaCntrller Apex. Fail-safe setting. If cmmunicatin failure ccurs between the AquaCntrller Apex and the EnergyBar 6, each utlet can be cnfigured t revert t a user settable default setting. High reliability direct wired cnnectin t the Apex System thrugh the AquaBus (des nt use X10). Tw utlets with relay switching fr higher pwer switching. Up t 240 EnergyBar 6 devices can be cnnected tgether fr up t 1440 switched utlets n a single AquaBus. Built-in circuit breaker prtected. 4 Munting Hles fr easy installatin. Cmpact custm aluminum enclsure (9.6" x 4.10" x 1.8"). STATUS INDICATOR The EnergyBar 6 has a single LED status indicatr t prvide the peratinal status f the EnergyBar 8. The table belw lists the pssible states f the indicatr alng with the indicated status. If yu are nt sure f the type f AC pwer available, cnsult yur dealer r lcal pwer cmpany. Only cnnect this prduct t a pwer utlet that matches the pwer requirements f this prduct. D nt allw anything t rest n the pwer crd. D nt lcate this prduct where peple will walk n the crd. If yu have t use an extensin crd with this prduct, make sure that the ttal amperage rating f all equipment plugged int it des nt exceed the amperage rating f the extensin crd. Als, make sure that the ttal f all prducts plugged int the main AC pwer utlet des nt exceed 10 Amps. Unplug yur prduct frm the main electrical pwer utlet befre cleaning. D nt use liquid cleaner r aersl cleaners. Use a damp clth fr cleaning. D nt use this prduct near water. Unplug this prduct frm the main pwer utlet and call fr service under any f the fllwing cnditins: If the pwer crd r plug is damaged r frayed. If liquid has been spilled int the prduct. If the prduct has been expsed t rain r water. If the prduct has been drpped r the case has been damaged. If the prduct exhibits a distinct change in perfrmance, indicating a need fr service.
