Beware f bjects that dangle and culd get caught in cutting tl. Beware f flying metal chips. KEEP DOORS CLOSED WHILE OPERATING. 2 TORMACH MACHINE INSTRUCTIONS Start Up Prcedure 1. Make sure estp (big red buttn) is depressed 2. Turn n Mains pwer 3. After sftware lads, release e stp buttn 4. Press green buttn (shuld hear a cachunk) 5. Click reset n screen (shuld be flashing) Machine Reference Prcedure 1. Make sure there is n tling in the way f the bed and spindle dr is clsed. 2. On Screen Click REF Z 3. On Screen Click REF X 4. On Screen Click REF Y. Methd 1 Haimer Prbe 1. Insert Heimer prbe int the spindle. 2. Enter "50" int the tl in spindle bx 3. Make sure step increments are set t Using the keybard/jg cntrller Jg/dial the prbe tip near yur x zer line. 5. Slwly mve the prbe until the dial reads bth 0 at the tp dial and bttm smaller dial. 6. Click Zer X t zer yur X psitin 7. Repeat steps 3-6 fr yur Y/Z axises 8. Nw yur wrk is set in the X/Y/Z Methd 2 ETS Z Zer 1. Physically fix yur wrk surface n the bed, vice r sacrificial surface 2. Psitin Tl Setter n Zer Plane f wrk surface, Plug in tl setter 3. Duble check Tl setter is stable n wrk surface 4. Duble check tl setter is fully cnnected by depressing tp and making sure the red light (bth n screen and n the unit ignites) 5. Navigate t Offsets > Wrk 6. Make Sure Spindle is Empty, Cllet is clsed and Tl 0 listed as in spindle 7. Press Mve & Set Wrk Offset. Nw yu Z ffset has been set relative t yur zer plane

3 Using the ATC 1. Navigate t ATC Menu 2. Delete all tls in ATC menu 3. Physically Remve any tls frm spindle 4. Make sure Tl in Spindle is listed as 0 5. Click G T Lad psitin 6. Physically Insert Tl int ATC Frk 7. Assign tl numbers as tls are placed in ATC - Click insert 8. Tray Rev/Fwd t turn ATC and lad up t 10 tls, remember t click insert and assign tl numbers as yu lad 9. Click Retract t Mve ATC t hme psitin and clear the spindle Ntes: If the atc ptin is nt n the screen it has been disabled, please d nt use.

4 Tl Length Offset Optin 1 Manually Measure 1. Measure the length frm the face f the hlder t the tip f the tl using the granite blck 2. Write dwn n set up sheet r enter length directly int cmputer Ntes: End mills ften are slanted frm the tip twards the center s make sure t measure the tip rather then the middle. Optin 2 ETS (nly t be dne after z zer wrk ffset as been set) Single Tl 1. Insert tl int spindle 2. Enter tl number int current tl windw in PathPilt 3. Plug in & test ETS 4. Psitin ETS n Z Zer plane and tl abve ETS 5. Navigate t ffsets page, click mve and set tl ffset ATC tls (DO NOT REMEASURE SHOP STANDARD TOOLS) 1. Duble check ATC is prperly laded and all tl numbers have been assigned 2. Plug in & test ETS 3. Psitin ETS n wrk ffset Z Zer plane and spindle abve ETS 4. Navigate t ATC page, click tuch ff entire tray

5 Lading & Running Yur Prgram 1. Put usb drive int slt n left side f screen 2. Gt File tab in path pilt 3. Click n USB n the desktp screen (the Center f the screen). 4. Find yur file. 5. Click "cpy frm USB" 6. Find yur G-cde in the left side f the screen 7. Click Lad G-Cde (n the tp f the screen). 8. Yur cde and 3D mdel f yur part shuld autmatically lad in Main Tab. Review accrdingly. 9. Cnfirm the tls yu are using are nted apprpriately in the G-Cde. (Scrll until yu see a T_ fr example T5 and yur tl is in the T5 slt.) If the G-Cde is nted as the incrrect tl, adjust in the cde accrdingly. 10. Cnfirm the Heimer indicatr is n lnger in the machine. 11. If necessary using the sliders (n the bttm, left f the desktp screen), adjust the MAXVEL frm 100% t 20%. This allws the prcess t slw dwn enugh fr yu t clearly see it. 12. Make sure drs are clsed. 13. Click Cycle Start. (n the left side f the screen). 14. Use "M01 break" if yu want t autmatically pause the run cycle between tl changes. If selected yu will need t manually click "cycle start" befre each tl change.

7 Turn Off Prcedure: 1. Unlad yur tls frm the tl tray 2. Leave empty tl hlder in spindle 3. Press E-stp buttn 4. Click Exit in PathPilt 5. Click k t pwer ff 6. Turn ff Mains Pwer

8 Main Cntrls Cycle Start: Starts any cde laded n the main screen Single Blck: Runs yur cde line by line Feed Hld: Stps mvement in the XYZ while a prgram is running but des nt stp the spindle, and pauses lcatin in the cde. Click cycle start t resume. Clant: Turns fld clant n and ff. Typing M08 int the MDI will turn n fld clant. Typing M07 will turn n the Mist (r air if knb is adjusted) M01 Break: Pauses a running prgram between tl changes. Yu will need t click cycle start after pauses. Stp: Stps the prgram and mvement entirely. Yu will lse yur psitin in the cde if yu need t restart. Reset: Used t reset digital cmmunicatin after a pwer ff Estp Buttn (physical): Kills all pwer and air t the machine. Yu will lse all psitin data and have t restart frm beginning f tl path.

9 Zer X/Y/Z/A: used t zer the current G hme t the lcatin f the ffset pint. A is nt currently used n ur machine (fr turning) Ref X/Y/Z/A: Sends the bed and spindle t their hme psitins. Used when referencing after pwering dwn r E stpping. Wrk #: Tl Tip psitin relative t wrk ffset psitin. DTG #: Distance t g t end f current mvement frm tl path r MDI entry. Step (.0001,.0010,.0100,.1000): Step size increment used with incremental mvement. Click t change. Recmmended t leave n.0001 Slider %: Percent f max jg speed when using cntinuus mvement. Jb Cn/Step: Changes keybard arrw mvement type. Increment: mvement length based n step per click, 1 arrw press=mvement f step distance Rev/Stp/Fwd: Turns the spindle n CCW/Stps/CW #RPM: spindle speed yu want the spindle t run manually Spindle Hi/Lw: Current physical set up (ur machine is default t HI) Feedrate #: Inchs per minute fr manual gcde mvement G t g30: Ges t the wrk ffset hme psitin (x:0, y:0, z:0) specific t tl length currently prgrammed in. T# (bttm right crner) - Identifies the tl currently in the spindle, als used t fetch and stre tls Tl 0 is an empty spindle If yu change frm a 0 t a number in the ATC it will fetch that tl If yu change frm a 0 t a number nt in the ATC it will think it's hlding that tl If yu change frm a tl number stred in the ATC t a number stred in the ATC it will put away the current tl in the ATC and Fetch the new tl number entered. Entering zer will put away the current tl and leave an empty spindle. 10 ATC Menu Insert Number Bx - Assigning a tl being inserted int the 3 'clck psitin in the ATC Delete All - Deletes all saved saved tls in the digital ATC (careful as path pilt n lnger knws where tls are stred Delete - Deletes just the tl in the 3 'clck psitin frm the digital ATC, r current tl in spindle frm sftware. Tray Rev/Tray FWD - Turns the ATC clckwise/ccw s yu can lad the frks. G t tray lad psitin - Mves the spindle head ut f way and ATC under the spindle, pening the ATC gate. Retract - Mves the spindle head up, and ATC t the hme psitin, Clsing the ATC Gate Draw Bar On/Off - Opens the drawbar. (careful if a tl is laded it will drp) Blast- Shts air dwn the cllet Ref Tl Tray - References the ATC turned psitin upn initiatin after start up SET TC Ps - Used fr calibrating the ATC rtatin psitin --/++ - Used in calibratin f the ATC rtatin psitin

11 Remve/Number Bx - Used t delete ATC stred tl number entered, The ATC will fetch tl entered and remve digital hme frm carusel, yu must remve tl frm spindle/machine manually fllwing this buttn. 13 Check Out System Yu must g thrugh bth classes t utilize the machine Grup Class: Limited number f seat will cver details in this bklet Individual 1 n 1: Available up t 4 days a week 10:30a-12p, everyday but Tuesday. This sessin is fr yu t prve basic cmprehensin f the machine, tl pathing and wrk set up. It is nt a guided sessin but a duble checked ver. It yur respnsibility t have material, tl selectin, and tl pathing ready befre bking this sessin. Attending this sessin des nt guarantee immediate independent usage f the machine, yu may have t take it again if yu have nt adequately prved cmprehensin f the machine. It is recmmended t have less then a 10 minute tl path, and required t utilize at least 2 tls. Machine Reservatin Only nce yu have gne thrugh bth classes, with expressed apprval after the individual 1 n 1 may yu reserve the machine. The machine is available fr up t 6, 30 minute windws (3 cnsecutive hurs). Schedule: 9-5 Mnday-Friday, reserved everyday frm 10:30a-12pm. 10:30a-12p is reserved fr 1 n 1 checkut, maintenance, etc. If the machine is nt reserved during that time, the time is given t whm ever hlds the 9a-10:30a, if they dn t need it whm ever hlds the 12pm slt can claim it. T reserve: Navigate t the prttyping shp pane in left hand clumn f the member prtal-> click n Equipment reservatin-> select the day yu wish t reserve-> chse up t 6 time slts yu wish t reserve.
