T install the 4000 prts mve "C" clips t rear f pump. Push the prt until snug. Slide "C" clip frward t frnt f pump. D nt install pump such that plumbing causes excessive stress n either n. It is essential that a 20 mesh strainer r filter be installed in the tank r in the pump inlet line t keep large freign particles ut f the system. The Fljet 1600 Series 40 r 20 mesh strainer is available with varius cnnectins t fit mst installatins. Check valves, if used, must have cracking (pening) pressure f n mre than 2 psi. PRODUCT WARRANTY IS VOID IF INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS ARE NOT FOLLOWED ELECTRIGAL = On 115 Vlt AC pumps, the black wire lead is cmmn, the white is neutral and green/yellw is grund. On 230 Vlt AC pumps, 5 the brwn wire lead is cmmn, the blueg' is neutral and the green/yellw is grund. Never cnnect the green (r green,/yellw) wire t a five terminal On 12 and 24 Vlt DC pumps, match red (+) and black (-) pwer leads with red and black leads n mtr rc switch. OPERATIOIII Allw pump t prime with discharge line (r spray valve) pen, t avid airlck. Built-in pressure switch will shutff pump autmatically when discharge valve is clsed and will restart pump when valve is pened. When pump runs ut f liquid, it will cntinue t perate. Running dry will nt damage the pump. Turn ff manualy- SPRAY TIP In spraying applicatins the pressure generated by the pump is generally dependent upn the size f the spray nzzle. An undersized spray nzzle will cause the pump pressure switch t cycle n and ff and create a pulsating flw frm the pump. T maintain a smth flw and cnstant perating pressure, the smallest size spray nzzles that may be used are as fllws: MODEL /64" /64" -Ref. A/ways use cmplete FLOJET repair kits upn reassembly. ASSEMBLY Install new single-piece uter pistn (B)int lwer husing (10) with pistn tps pinting away frm mtr. Slightly bend uter pistn (B) alng premlded crease t aid assembly. Place diaphragm in lwer husing (10) with the mlded -ring seals tacing away frm mtr. Insert each inner pistn (4 thrugh diaphragm int uter pistn. Turn each pistn until fully seated. Align can/bearing assembly (9) with uter pistn (B). Secure with cam/pistn screws using 18 inch punds f trque. Reassemble lwer husing (9, 10, 12) t mtr. Set screw MUST be psitined ver shaft ;ndentatin and secured tightly. Reassemble pump upper husjng (13-16). Check that ferrules are jnstalled in upper husing and O-ring is prperly seated befre inserting check valve assembly ('13) int upper husing (14). Align pump assembly t mtr and tighten pump head screws evenly with 25 inch Dunds f true.
