Snow Mold The 1975 snow mold fungicide evlution trils were conducted t the Boyne Highlnd Resort, Hror Springs, Michign on "Penncross" creeping entgrss mowed t 1/2 inch. No fungicides were pplied to the test re during the growing seson. The wettle powder (WP) nd flowles (F) were pplied with CO 2 smll plot spryer nd the grnulr fungicide with 3 foot Scotts spreder. The test ws divided into two studies ecuse of the lrge size. The plots were 6 ft. x 6 ft. nd the tretments were replicted 3 times in rndom lock design for ech study. Study A The resul ts of Study A cn e seen in Tle 1. They show tht prcti cll y ll the snow mold present ws Typhul light with only little Fusrium ptch s indicted. In ddition to the old stndys, Clo grn nd Clo clorj Scotts F + F Dow 281, MF 582, Terrclor nd Acti-dione RZ ll rnked high. With the exception of Clo grn, cl0 clor, nd Dow 281, ~ll these mterils contin PCNB (MF 582 nd Acti-dione RZ) or were penb (Terrclor nd Scotts F + F with the F + f lso contining fertilizer). On n ppernce sis, the Scotts F + F ws the est, minly due to the effect of the fertilizer on grss color nd growth. This is the second seson in which good results hve een otined with the PCNB fungicides ginst Typhul light. Study B Study B hd oth Typhul light nd Fusrium ptch present. They re listed together on Tle 2 s % snow mold nd roken down in Tle 2 to % Typhul light nd Tle 2 to % Fusrium ptch. The results in Tle 2, 2, 2, show tht wheres Fusrium ptch ws present in this study, the predominnt snow mold ws Typhul light. 6 2. Helminthosporium lef Spot Study The Helminthosporium lef spot study ws conducted t the M.S.U. Soils Frm on Prk Kentucky Bluegrss mintined t 2 inch height of cut. The plots were 6 x 6 ft. nd replicted 3 times in rndom lock design. The liquid pplictions were mde with 002 hnd held spryer nd the dry pplictions were mde with Scotts 3 ft. spreder. The tretments were pplied on My 8, 15, 30 nd June 12 except for Scotts F + F which ws pplied only once on My 8 nd Spectro nd Clery's 4223 which were pplied twice on My 30 nd June 12. The redings were tken on June 19. The plots were rted on 0-9 scle with 0 representing no spots present on the lef lde nd 9 representi ng 90% or more of the 1ef l de surfce covered with spots. The results in Tle' show tht most of the fungicides t one or more rtes gve significnt control when compred to the untreted check. The noticele exceptions eing EL-222, Clery's 4223, nd Fungo. Those rnking highest in the study (giving the est control) were RP 26019, z., Dyrene 4, 5, 6, 8 oz., Dconil , 6, 8 oz., Dconil oz., plus Exhlt pt/loo gl nd Acti-dione RZ, 4 oz. Tle 1. Sclerotini Dollr Spot Study The regulr Sclerotini dollr spot study ws conducted on the M.S.U. Crop Science Frm. The plots were 3 x 6 ft. nd the tretments were replicted 3 times in rndom lock design. 9 4. Benzimidzole resistnt dollr spot study The enzimidzole resistnt dollr spot study ws conducted on the M.S.U. Soil Frm. The tretments in study numer 1 were pplied on 7/8, 7/23, 8/7, 8/19 nd 9/4. The tretments in Study 2 were pplied on 8/7 nd 8/19. All tretments were pplied with hnd held CO spryer. 2 Study 1 The results show none of the fungicides were effective in controlling the enzimidzole resistnt strin of dollr spot Tle 3. Study 2 The study ws red on 8/26. Tle 4 shows Dconil 2787, 6 oz,, R. P oz,, Clo Clor 2 oz., R. P oz., Actidione - Thirm 4 oz., Clo Clor 3 oz., Actidione RZ 2 oz., nd Dyrene 6 oz. rnked t the top of those giving significnt control over the enzimidzole resistnt strin of dollr spot. 11 5. Anthrcnose The Anthrcnose studies were conducted t the Derorn C.C. in Derorn, HI on the firwy which ws primrily Po nnu cut t 1/2 inch height. The plots were 6,x 6 ft. nd replicted in rndom lock design. The liquid pplictions were mde with CO 2 hnd held spryer nd the dry formultion with Scotts 3 ft.' drop spreder.. Study I Tretments for Study I were pplied on 8/6 nd 8/16 except for Tersn oz., Scotts F + F nd Ammonium Nitrte which were only pplied once on August 6. The systemic fungicide Tersn 1991, DPX nd Scotts Fertilizer plus DSB Fungicide were ll drenched in fter ppliction. The plots were evluted on percent thinning due to Anthrcnose. The redings were tken on 9/11. The results in Tle 1 show tht Tersn 1991 t 8 oz., 4 oz., nd 1 oz.; DPX t 8 oz., nd 4 oz.; nd Scott's Fertilizer & DSB Fungicide ll gve significnt control over the untreted check. Tle 5. Study The fungicides in Tle 2 were pplied only once on August 18. Fusrium Blight Study The 1975 Fusrium light studies were conducted t the Pele Creek Aprtments in Frmington, Michign nd t the Michign Stte University Crop nd Soil Science field lortories on Merion Kentucky luegrss. The plots t Pele Creek were 5 x feet wheres those t M.S.U. were 5' x 6'. Both sets of plots were replicted in rndom lock design. The liquid ppliction ws mde with n Ortho hose jr ppli~tornd the dry grnulr pplictions were mde with 3 foot Scotts drop spreder. All tretments were inmeditely drenched in fter ppliction. Pele Creek The tretments t Pele Creek were pplied on July 2, 16 nd August 22. The redings were tken on Sept. 23. The results in Tle 7 show tht Clery l s 3224, Tersn oz. with nd without wetting gent, Aqu Grow 8 oz., R.P rnked t the top of the tretments. The study ws conducted on hevy cly soil nd the wetting gents pprently helped with the penetrtion of the fungicide nd/or wter into the soil. M.S.U. Soils Field Lortory The tretments were pplied on August 28 nd Septemer 11 nd the redings were tken on Oct. 15. The results in Tle 8 shows Tersn oz, Tersn oz plus Hydro-wet; Tersn oz plus Aqu-Gro gve significnt control of Fusrium light compred to the untreted check. 20
