3 INTRODUCTION Air curtains help aintain a cofortable, safe and energy efficient indoor environent. What is an air curtain? Air curtains seal an entrance with an invisible barrier of air, preventing cold air entering in the winter and conditioned air escaping in the suer, whilst the door is open. Why use air curtains? Suitable for retail, coercial and industrial sites, air curtains will lower a building s energy consuption all yearround as internal teperatures are aintained and a building s energy costs reduce. They can be ounted horizontally above the entrance or installed vertically at the side. Air curtains can increase profitability by allowing open-door trading while iproving custoer and staff cofort. When used in industrial environents, they can ake heated areas, with large, frequently open doorways, cofortable and iprove safety by having no physical obstructions. 4

5 RUND Option available (see page 42) The Rund air curtain is a popular choice with architects. It has an extreely attractive cylindrical design, which can be fitted in any different ounting or suspension options to coplient an entrance s structural design. Low noise centrifugal double inlet fans are driven by an external otor rotor with a built in theral protection contact. The perforated inlet grilles have filter functions that are easy to aintain. The anodised aluiniu laellas are aerofoil shaped and are adjustable fro 0 to 15 on either side. The Rund can be ounted end-to-end, so they can accoodate very wide entrances such as shopping centres, airports or sports arenas. A standard anual controller, 7 etres of control cable and an IR handheld reote are included. Other control options available include the Clever controller or the BMS interface (see page 43 for further details). 7 ZEN Option available (see page 42) This sart and inialistic air curtain can be fitted with bespoke fascia panels providing a corporate brand opportunity or add to functioning. Options include clocks, CAD cut vinyl lettering, laser cut, edge lit lettering the possibilities are endless. Unlike the conventional air curtain arrangeent where the air is discharged at right angles to the air inlet assebly, the air intake and discharge grille are in the sae plane so that the air flows through the unit in a straight line. The Zen is suitable for ediu to large sized preises and, as they can be ounted end-to-end, they can accoodate very wide entrances such as shopping centres, airports or sports arenas. The inlet grille acts as an air filter reoving dust and airborne containants. The grille can be periodically wiped or vacuued, ensuring easy aintenance.
