1 Turism and Hspitality Descriptin: The Turism and Hspitality AA degree prepares students t either enter the wrkfrce at a supervisr level r transfer t a Hspitality prgram at a fur-year university. Students will gain an understanding f the management principles and theries that put them n the path twards a rewarding career in varius segments f the hspitality industry, such as cruises, sales, events, gaming and casins, htels, restaurants, and turism. Students gain hands-n experience thrugh varius curse assignments and requirements. The Turism and Hspitality prgram ffers curses in human resurces management, event management, marketing, fd service peratins management, casins and gaming, ldging, and turism. Upn cmpletin f the degree, students will be ServSafe certified and TIPS training certified, prviding a cmpetitive and financial advantage in the jb market. Graduates f the prgram are prepared fr psitins such as frnt desk assistant manager, banquet captain, beverage peratins supervisr, cncierge supervisr, custmer service manager, and event crdinatr. Student Learning Outcmes: Upn successful cmpletin f this prgram, students will be able t: Create favrable guest experiences by using prfessinal service management techniques in a turism and hspitality business envirnment. Organize, analyze, and interpret perspectives r alternatives t prblems in turism and hspitality peratins. Cntribute t psitive team perfrmance in a hspitality business envirnment by appraising and managing ne's wn team-related cmpetencies, in particular, the knwledge, skills, and attitudes cnsidered transprtable frm ne team t anther. Integrate human, financial, and physical resurces management int turism and hspitality peratins and mdel the behavirs f effective, ethical leaders by demnstrating the fundamental principles f leadership. Prgram Entry Requirements: This prgram is pen t all interested students. Students identified as needing develpmental curse wrk must satisfactrily cmplete the apprpriate English and mathematics curses as part f their degree prgram.
