1 KCB Series Thyristor Transformers LI002V1/2008-EN 1.Characteristics: 1 Totally-encapslated printed circit board being able to be directly welded and assembled; 2 High capability of mechanical and environmental isolation, compact in strctre, solid, vibration-proof, moistre-proof and flame-resistance; 3 High dielectric strength between coils; 4 Ratio can be changed by cstomers to meet the reqirement for triggering; 5 Able to match thyristors of all capacities; 6 Able to be sed as common plse transformers 2.Applications The triggering transformer is sed with thyristor. It is commonly connected in between controlled triggering nit and controlling grid of thyristor to transfer triggering plse in thyristor eqipment; and acts as a reliable isolator between high and low voltages. KCB Series triggering transformers can be sed for the following eqipment: 1 Voltage and speed controlled eqipment; 5 Rectifier; 2 Electric welding machine; 6 Inverter freqency converter; 3 Elevator; Self-controlled device; 4 Power spply with intermediate freqency; 8 Other thyristor device. Typical circit in application is showed in the following Diagram: Notes: 1.R 1 and D 1 act as crrent contining components. D 1 normally is 1N400,R 1 is selected between 1kΩ ~2kΩ ; 2.D 2,D 3,R 2 act as shaping components. D 2,D 3 can be 1N400,R 2 is optional from a few tens ohms to several hndreds ohms. 0

It can be selected with the recommended vales listed in Table 1: Table 1: Working Voltage V 0 220V 380V 500V V Dielectricity Strength Vp 1.9kV 3.1kV 4.5kV 6kV 8.3kV 2 The model can be selected in accordance with prodct of volt-microsecond ( ) and freqency of triggering plse. There is a rle for the selection, which is referred to that the known prodct of volt-microsecond of triggering plse shold be eqal to or less than the rated that of KCB triggering transformers in related range of freqencies; (a). For sers who se single plse of 50Hz as triggering signal: the type can be determined with the known prodct of volt-microsecond by following the rle mentioned above. For example, if it is known that the triggering plse voltage is 8V, the plse width is 250μS, the prodct of volt-microsecond then is 2000μVS(=8 250=2000μVS), the KCB-05 shold be selected. (b). For sers who se plse train (modlated plse) as triggering signal: the selection shold be made according to the parameters of modlated plse. For example, if it is known that the freqency of modlated plse is khz, the plse amplitde is 10V, the prodct of volt-microsecond is then 800μVS (=10 80=800μVS), the KCB-04 shold be selected when f p =khz. (c). For sers who don t know the parameters of triggering plse: recommended model can be chosen from the table 2 as follows. 2
