Exposre to hazardos locations and related code reqirements can be avoided by locating the male inlets on the carts above the hazardos classified areas (18 inches or higher). When implemented properly, airport technicians can easily make and break live electrical connections. NFPA 513: The 18 Inch Rle Article 513 of the NEC applies to bildings where aircraft might be serviced, repaired or stored, and to any area which has aircraft that contains Class I (flammable) liqids or Class II (combstible) liqids where temperatres are above the flash point of the liqids. NEC states that any pit or depression below the level of the hangar floor is classified as a Class I, Division 1 or Zone 1 location. The entire hanger area are Class I, Division 2, or Zone 2 locations from grond level p to 18 inches above the floor.
