3 Cmbat Vehicle Prtfli Mdernizatin Cncept f the Operatin The Army will execute a tw-phased capabilities enhancement initiative acrss the Cmbat Vehicle Fleet. Phase I ECP (Near Term): ASARC apprved 8 June 2011 Abrams and Bradley prgrams will execute a series f Engineering Change Prpsals (ECPs) reestablishing Space, Weight, Pwer and Cling (SWAP-C) t facilitate integratin f technlgies being develped under existing Prgrams f Recrd (POR) (PEO/Army Decisin). Prpsed ECPs will restre lst capability, nt t exceed peratinal envelpes utlined in current requirement dcuments. Phase II Mdernizatin (Lng Term): Cmbat Vehicle MDD Canceled in Aug VCSA directed Abrams & Bradley nt t execute MS prgrams. Lk t expand ECP effrts. 16 Disclaimer The Armred Multi-Purpse Vehicle (AMPV) Prgram is the prpsed Army prgram fr replacement f the M113 Family f Vehicles within the Heavy Brigade Cmbat Team. This prgram is still pending an FY12 Materiel Develpment Decisin (MDD) that will define the prgram, t be fllwed by an Analysis f Alternatives (AA) that will cnfirm the system r systems that will replace the M113.
