Internatinal Organizatin fr Standardizatin (ISO TC41 SC3) Current cmmittee participants include Austria, Belgium, China, Japan, France, Germany, Netherlands, Russian Federatin, Suth Africa, Switzerland, USA and UK. Secretariat respnsibilities are shared by China and Japan. The last ISO TC41/SC3 meeting was held Nvember 2, 2015 in Atlanta, Gergia, USA. The next ISO TC41 SC3 is scheduled fr September 19, 2017 in the UK. ISO TC41 SC3 Activity, July 2016 t June 2017 ISO Meeting Pints f Interest fr CEMA Members ISO/DIS Cnveyr Belts Drum Frictin Testing. ISO is studying ptins fr changes t the drum frictin test t accmmdate thicker and / r stiffer belts which are nw in use and which are difficult r impssible t wrap arund the current drum diameter as specified within EN1554. The cmmittee is cnsidering reduced pulley wrap (135 frm 180 deg.) and larger diameter pulley (Suth Africa has a 450mm drum) This prject has entered the next t last stage, the Draft Internatinal Standard (DIS) stage. ISO 21178:2013 Light cnveyr belts Determinatin f electrical resistances JISC is prpsing a revisin that will be available by the September 19, 2017 ISO meeting. ISO NP Prpsed New Standard Cnveyr belts - Labratry scale running resistance - Test methd JISC, Japan has prpsed a new small scale test t measure indentatin rlling resistance by pulling a small instrumented trailer alng a 5 m x 150 mm belt sample. See figure belw. A cmmittee will be frmed t evaluate DIN, Australian (Newcastle) and Japanese (Dshisha University) methds with a view t develping a new ISO standard. The prpsal was apprved by a simple majrity (5/9) and will prceed as a New Prject (NP).
