Revised Chapter 4, Textile Characteristics and Belt Ratings, t agree with CEMA. Adding an Impact Test fr textile belting t Chapter 6. This is an industry first! Separated textile and steel crd reinfrced belts int their wn chapters. Revised and expanded the chapter n splicing. Released 5th editin in June, Internatinal Organizatin fr Standardizatin (ISO TC41 SC3) Current cmmittee participants include Austria, Belgium, China, Japan, France, Germany, Netherlands, Russian Federatin, Suth Africa, Switzerland, USA and UK. Secretariat respnsibilities are shared by China and Japan. The last ISO TC41/SC3 meeting was held Nvember 2, 2015in Atlanta, Gergia, USA. ISO is studying ptins fr changes t the drum frictin test t accmmdate thicker and / r stiffer belts which are nw in use and which are difficult r impssible t wrap arund the current drum diameter as specified within EN1554. 5 Prpsed New Standard Cnveyr belts - Labratry scale running resistance - Test methd JISC, Japan has prpsed a new small scale test t measure indentatin rlling resistance by pulling a small instrumented trailer alng a 5 m x 150 mm belt sample. See figure belw. A cmmittee will be frmed t evaluate DIN, Australian (Newcastle) and Japanese (Dshisha University) methds with a view t develping a new ISO standard.
