McLeod MON'rrua ROWI' ON REPINED PE1ROLJM PROWCTS IN CAKAD& SEPTIMM Output of refined petroleum products in Canada during September, 1948, totalled 7,987,586 barrels compared with 6,578,492 barrels in September, The total for the month under review included 3,343,534 barrels of motor gasoline, 29,285 barrels of aviation gasoline, 2,055,317 barrels of heavy fuel oil, 1,262,108 barrels of light fuel oil. 327,685 barrels of kerosene and stove oil, 116,636 barrels of trotor distillate, 94,951 barrels of aaphthe specialties, and 757,870 barrels of other refinery products Such as lubricating oils, asphalt, coke, etc. Refineries in Canada used 8,473,261 barrels of crude oil during September, 1948, compared with 6,901,270 barrels In September, Receipts of crude oil during the current month totalled 8,817,215 barrels, Including 7,720,357 barrels of imported oil and 1,096,858 barrels from Canadian sources of supply. Inventories of crude at the refineries at the end of the month amounted to 5,369,371 barrels compared with 4,281,083 barrels on the corresponding date of last year. The consumption of liuid petroleum fuels In Canada, as computed from refinery shipments and from imports, exports and changes In marketing Inventories of refiners and wholesalers, was as follows in September, 1948, all figures being in barrels of 35 Imperial gallons: naphtha specialties, 78,105; aviation gasoline, 106,953; motor gasoline, 4,472,224; tractor distillate, 166,032; kerosene and stove oil, 446,694; light fuel oil, 1,153,200; and heavy fuel oil, 1,959,000. These figures do not take into account relatively awall amounts imported direct by Canadian users and which do not pass through wholesaler.' or dealer.' henda or direct to large consumers.
